Chapter 185: We do, but why do you watch it?

"What subscription was it?"

One asked curiously and Lucian just sighed—

"Porn."

"...what?"

"What? You guys don’t watch it?"

"We do, but why do you watch it?"

Another boy glared at him with this annoyed look on his face, then he looked at the girls who were giggling while outright ogling at Lucian, giving suggestive signs that he was actively ignoring.

Why would someone like him need porn!?

Tsk.

The boy now seemed even more annoyed.

"I agree. Why would you need a subscription to that?"

Another girl nodded, leaning over her desk as she stared at Lucian with a clear shimmer in her eyes.

"Especially when there are better alternatives~"

Now the boy was losing his mind.

He truly did want to smack a chair onto Lucian’s head. Someone like Lucian should donate his subscription for a good cause.

Like to someone like him.

"Why do you think I was cancelling it?"

Lucian smiled.

"Oohh? Are you saying you no longer need it?"

The girl smiled.

Other girls leaned in as well, clearly interested in the topic.

’Why don’t they seem that interested when I mention porn on dates?’

The boy wondered in his head, his mouth twitching without stopping as he watched Lucian interact with the girls.

He was taking notes.

It wasn’t just him watching Lucian and taking notes either, Naomi was watching as well.

And as much as she did not like him talking to other girls, what she noticed more was how quickly and easily he lied and changed the topic to something else.

She looked around and saw the class, who had been interested in knowing the number on Lucian’s bank account, were now not even thinking about it.

She also stared at Lucian.

The same guy who was staring at the screen in complete shock just a second ago, now he was smiling playfully and flirting back as if nothing had happened.

Just...

How did he get so good at lying?

Or was he always that good?

What... happened to him?

She couldn’t help but wonder in her head.

That was when the classroom door opened and the professor walked in carrying a laptop and several papers.

The noise quickly began to settle.

"Everyone, take your seats."

Students rushed back to their desks.

The girls around Lucian returned to their places, though several still smiled at him before sitting down.

The professor placed the papers on the desk at the front.

Lucian adjusted himself in his seat.

Naomi opened her notebook again.

For a moment, both of them remained silent.

The professor began preparing the lecture.

Then Naomi leaned slightly toward Lucian and asked what had been bothering her all this while.

"How did you get so much money?"

She whispered.

"Obviously by doing one heck of a job~"

Lucian winked at her.

"I am not joking, Lucian."

Naomi spoke with a serious look on her face.

"I am worried.

You disappear for weeks, you come back completely different, then you suddenly work for Evelyn Starling and now someone has put thirty million dollars into your account.

What have you gotten yourself into?"

"Now that you mention it, that does sound suspicious, doesn’t it?"

Lucian nodded to himself.

Naomi only stared at him.

Lucian looked at her, then he sighed—

"The money is legal. Illegal money doesn’t come to your account."

"..."

Naomi couldn’t say anything to that.

"And don’t ask more questions, you know I can’t answer. I don’t want to lie to you too."

Naomi looked at him, then—

"...just be safe, okay?"

She sighed.

"Yes."

Lucian smiled.

"Now let’s focus on the lecture, you don’t know, but this has always been my favourite subject."

"Oh? What subject was it again?"

Naomi asked and Lucian—

"Um... A good subject."

Lucian nodded like that made sense.

Naomi only laughed at that and shook her head.

The two focused on the lecture.

The rest of the day passed much faster than Lucian expected. During the entire day, Lucian felt his phone buzzing nonstop.

The group the classroom had formed was very active, Lucian didn’t check it. He was completely out of the habit of checking his phone and he was busy chatting with Naomi and focusing on the lecture.

Yes, he was a good student.

Lucian attended one class after the other, in each class, students surrounded him and he enjoyed the attention.

It went well with his demonic nature.

When the final lecture ended, the classroom immediately became noisy. Lucian stood up and lazily stretched his arms.

"Do you have an extra class?"

He asked as he turned towards Naomi.

Naomi looked at the girls behind her and—

"Not today."

Lucian smiled at that.

"Alright, let’s leave."

Naomi nodded and just as they were about to leave, a girl named Maya approached them.

"We should go now. We need time to prepare."

"We?"

Lucian tilted his head.

"Yes, we."

Maya nodded.

"You don’t want to prepare everything alone, do you?"

She asked.

The party began at 4 in the evening because Lucian knew he needed to leave at night. It was already 1, so they only had three hours, out of which, one would be wasted in travel.

"Well... that makes sense."

Lucian nodded.

Another girl named Lena walked towards them as well.

"I also made the list."

"You did?"

"Mhm, everything everyone mentioned in the group, I removed repeated items and some bogus requests, you only need to scan through it now."

"That is helpful."

Lucian nodded.

"See? I told you you would need help."

Maya smiled.

Lucian chuckled as he grabbed the list, it was longer than he expected, then, as he scrolled down, he frowned—

"Why do we need candles?"

"For decoration."

Maya, who had put that in the list, justified her answer very quickly.

"It is an afternoon party."

"They look nice."

"What about balloons?"

"They also look nice."

Lucian blinked at them.

"I made a terrible mistake, didn’t I?"

"You were the one who agreed."

Lena grinned.

"I was young and foolish."

He sighed.

"It was four hours ago."

"I have grown since then."

The girls laughed.

By the time Lucian and Naomi walked out of the classroom, Maya, Lena, and another girl named Tara were following them.

Two other boys looked at each other.

"Should we come help too?"

One of them offered.

The girls around Lucian immediately glared at them as if they had suggested something offensive and the boys—

"...we can come later."
