Chapter 183: That was AI-generated, trust me.
Lucian followed Naomi carefully as they entered the main building. Students walking through the corridors greeted Lucian.
"Morning!"
"Hello~"
"You came today!"
Some even waved excitedly.
Lucian waved back at them.
Naomi watched the scene from the corner of her eye.
"Look at you, Mr. Popular."
"Fame comes with struggle."
Naomi rolled her eyes.
"Struggle of shooting steamy pictures with a world-class star."
She snorted.
Lucian paused at that.
He had seen some very different pictures posted online.
"You know that’s AI-generated, right?"
He spoke very carefully.
"How would I know? Not like you and I were talking."
Naomi snorted as she continued walking.
"That was very well timed."
Lucian agreed. Naomi harrumphed again.
"But that was AI-generated, trust me."
"I know that!"
Naomi raised her voice and increased her pace.
She was still very frustrated.
Lucian followed her. The two walked into their classroom. Naomi went straight to her usual seat, placed her bag on the desk, pulled out her notebook, and sat down without looking at him.
Lucian quietly took the seat beside her.
Naomi didn’t even acknowledge that, she only opened her book and started reading. Lucian could tell she wasn’t even reading because her eyes weren’t moving, she was outright ignoring him.
"So..."
He leaned a little closer.
"I was thinking about how I could make it up to you."
She didn’t answer.
"I have a few ideas."
Naomi picked up her pen without saying anything.
"One of them involves an apology letter."
Nothing.
"Another involves flowers, however scandalous they may sound."
Still nothing.
"The third one involves me joining a dance class so I can learn a dance just to apologise to you."
That made Naomi’s hand stop for a second.
"You like that one, huh."
Her mouth twitched, but again, she hid it.
"You laughed."
"I did not."
"You abs—"
"I did not."
She glared at him.
That was when it happened.
Before Lucian could continue, a girl from the next row approached them.
"Hi."
She smiled as she stopped in front of Lucian’s desk.
Lucian stopped, he looked at her, at her lenses, then he looked around.
The classroom was slowly filling.
Students entered in small groups, talking loudly about assignments, lectures, and whatever had happened while Lucian was gone, and the moment they noticed him, their conversations changed.
Some stared, some whispered, some immediately pulled out their phones.
Lucian noticed it all, then, his attention returned to the girl who had approached him.
"Hello."
He answered politely. The girl’s smile widened instantly as he responded to her. Naomi noticed that, she noticed how the girl tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Are you... really working as Evelyn Starling’s bodyguard?"
"I am."
Lucian nodded.
"What is she like?"
The girl’s eyes brightened immediately.
"Terrifying."
"Terrifying?"
The girl blinked.
"She threatened to take my phone away."
Lucian spoke with a serious face.
"You did not even have your phone."
Naomi snorted.
"See? That’s how cruel she was."
Naomi made a face.
That made absolutely no sense at all.
The girl, on the other hand, laughed like it was the funniest joke in the world. Naomi looked at her with this clear, judgemental look on her face.
However, just as she was about to send the girl away, another girl approached them. Then another, and within less than a minute, there were six girls gathered around Lucian’s desk.
And Lucian—
He looked very comfortable talking to them.
"Where do you work out?"
One girl asked.
"I can’t say, it’s a secret place."
"Do you and Evelyn work out together?"
"Oh, we sure do work out together."
Lucian smiled.
"Really!?"
The girls’ eyes brightened.
"Yep."
"How long did it take you to get like this?"
Another girl asked, clearly leering at Lucian’s body, her mind already filled with countless AI-generated pictures that were very clearly not safe to talk about.
"About twenty years."
"You are twenty."
"Exactly, I was born like that."
The girls laughed.
"Can you give me workout advice?"
Another asked. Lucian thought about it for a moment, then—
"Lift heavy things."
"That’s it?"
"Put them down too.
That part is important."
"Did you get taller too?"
Another questioned.
This continued for a while. Naomi watched how the girls asked one question after the other.
"Do you actually know how to fight?"
"What do you eat?"
"Where did you get your clothes?"
"Did you change your hair too?"
"What perfume are you wearing?"
It was almost never-ending, almost every single girl was leaning on Lucian, as if they wanted to fall into his arms. Some of them laughed even before he finished answering, a few simply stood nearby, waiting for a chance to speak.
And as Naomi saw Lucian talking to them, complimenting their hair, their glasses, or even the strange contacts they wore, controlling the crowd without any sort of stuttering, she couldn’t help but feel her mouth twitch.
She glared at the girls again, she could see them practically vying for his attention, heck, three of them were glaring at her, as if they wanted her to give them her seat.
And Naomi—
She snorted and decided to ignore it all.
Whatever!
They could do whatever they wanted!
She pressed her pen against the paper harder than necessary.
Then suddenly, one girl placed her hand on Lucian’s desk.
"So, Lucian..."
She smiled.
"Are you free this weekend?"
Lucian tilted his head.
"That depends."
"On what?"
"On what plans you have."
"My plans aren’t good."
The girl smiled openly.
"Oh?"
Lucian raised an eyebrow and that was when Naomi suddenly shut her book with a loud snap. Lucian instantly turned to her, she glared back.
"If you forgot, you still owe me."
She glared at him.
That made Lucian smile.
"I do. I have been giving you options all this while, you aren’t agreeing to an—"
"Cook for me."
Naomi demanded.
"Cook?"
Lucian raised an eyebrow.
"And it can’t be omelette."
"You know I only—"
"Learn."
She looked at him with a strict look on her face.
And Lucian—
"As you say."
He nodded, that made Naomi blink.
"That’s it?"
"I told you I wanted to make up for what I did."
Naomi didn’t know how to react to those words, but just then—
"You can cook?"
The girls around him reacted immediately.
