Chapter 175: Archdemon Nyssara of House Vesperis.
As time passed, Lucian could practically hear the room getting quieter.
The aides finished checking one more time. The silver lines around the Accord Mirror glowed one by one, forming three circles around the mirror’s frame. The first circle was blue, the second was white, and the third remained dark.
Severin watched all of it while finishing the last bite of his sandwich.
Yes, even Lucian blinked as he realised the man had managed to eat all sixteen sandwiches and, for some reason, he still seemed hungry.
Lucian shook his head. For a short moment, he was truly worried that humanity’s existence was in the wrong hands as he watched Severin wiping his hands.
But the very next second—
Something changed.
The instant Severin was done wiping his hands, the room changed. The easygoing man who had been talking with his mouth full was gone, his back straightened, the exhaustion in his eyes disappeared, and his face lost all humour. Lucian could notice that even his breathing changed, becoming slow and controlled.
"Final check."
The Concord Seat commanded.
"Outer wards are stable."
One of the aides answered immediately.
"Mirror boundary is clean."
Another aide followed.
"Speech channel ready."
"Reflection lock active."
"Good."
Severin nodded.
Marcelline too, took her seat at the table with a few files in her hand. From beginning to end, her face did not change.
Right now, Lucian was standing right behind Vivienne’s seat. Concord, Marcelline, and Vivienne were the only three sitting, the rest of the aides were standing behind them like Lucian.
"Open the Accord channel."
Severin ordered and as he did, one of the aides clicked something and the final circle around the mirror lit up.
The room darkened, the air became cold, then the Mirror’s black surface split open visually. Then, something appeared in the darkness.
Violet flames, a hall made of black stone and red light, shadows moving in the distance, then—
She appeared.
Nyssara of House Vesperis.
And Lucian’s breath stopped for half a second.
She was... divinely beautiful.
A kind of beauty that felt like a trap.
A vision of dark temptation.
She was tall and voluptuous, she had pale, luminous skin that glowed under violet light. Long, raven-black hair flowed past her shoulders, framing sharp, seductive features and glowing purple eyes.
There were two obsidian horns above her head, forming what seemed like a crown, and she wore black and golden chains like jewellery and a revealing corset that accentuated her full breasts and hourglass figure perfectly.
Lucian also noticed massive demonic wings folded softly behind her and the purple flames flickering around her, almost as if the flames couldn’t properly hold themselves in her presence.
*Picture*
And Lucian—
He could only stare.
An Archdemon.
A real Archdemon from the Demon Realm.
He still couldn’t wrap his mind around it.
The Archdemon in question, however, completely ignored his existence. Her eyes moved across the room, first at Severin, then Marcelline, and finally, Vivienne.
And for the first time, her expression changed.
"You are still alive?"
She seemed surprised.
Lucian frowned at those words.
Why did she look surprised?
Was his teacher not supposed to be alive?
He glanced at his teacher. Vivienne said nothing, she only stared at the Archdemon through the mirror.
"How rude."
Nyssara’s smile widened.
"Not even a greeting?"
Vivienne remained silent.
Nyssara chuckled softly. The sound was like a melody to the ears, though Lucian already knew how poisonous the seemingly pleasant melody was.
"I suppose that means I should wait before descending to Earth again, huh. I would rather not repeat the past."
Lucian frowned again.
Repeat the past?
His eyes moved to Vivienne again.
What did that mean?
Vivienne’s face did not change.
"I am not going anywhere anytime soon."
She shrugged.
"So just come down."
Vivienne only shrugged.
"And if you are coming, I suggest you descend properly this time, with a real body, that way, I can get rid of you for good."
The entire room froze.
Lucian stared at Vivienne.
For a moment, he genuinely wondered if he had heard her wrong.
This was an Archdemon!
An Archdemon!
A being who could wipe out countries if she ever came down!
Did his teacher just... invite her?
So she could get rid of her...?
What...?
Nyssara, however, only chuckled at those words.
"You have not changed one bit, Vivienne. And here I thought humans were fickle."
She shook her head, then, she looked at Vivienne again, this time, with a different shine and—
"Though I believe that in this case, you are an exception, huh."
Vivienne didn’t say anything, she just sat there, unimpressed.
And Lucian, who was standing behind her, was losing his mind.
Was she... really going to treat an Archdemon like she treated others?
Because he wasn’t seeing any difference.
He looked at Nyssara, expecting her to be angry, she, however, only stared at Vivienne with amusement, like she was enjoying their conversation.
"Though I highly doubt you would defeat me if I descended with my real body."
She chuckled, confident in her strength.
And she wasn’t wrong to have that confidence. If she actually descended with her real body, at least five countries would disappear that very day.
But Vivienne—
"You didn’t really put up any challenge the last time you came down. I doubt the real thing would be much different."
She only shrugged and the instant Lucian heard those words—
His thoughts stopped.
The last time she descended...?
So this monstrous existence had descended before...?
And his teacher...
She fought her?
No, she didn’t just fight her.
His teacher won!
Lucian was now looking at Vivienne with an entirely different look. He already knew Vivienne was terrifying.
Everyone in the Enclave knew that.
But this was entirely different. His teacher once fought an Archdemon from House Vesperis and won!
Lucian couldn’t believe it.
And Nyssara did not deny Vivienne’s words either, she only tilted her head and—
"Then why not test it?"
Vivienne narrowed her eyes for a moment.
Nyssara’s smile widened.
"Summon me."
Those words made the room colder. Lucian could hear the aides’ heartbeats stopping for a very short second before they raced. Marcelline and Severin stilled as well.
Lucian then looked at Vivienne and his eyes widened in horror as well.
He could see it.
His teacher...
She was actually considering it!
She was actually considering summoning an Archdemon!!
