Chapter 14: Please... leave.
"Haaahh... Hahhh... Hahhh..."
The moment he returned to his home, Lucian shut the door behind him and locked himself away from the rest of the world. Then, he just... stood there for a moment.
His hand remained on the handle, his breathing was dangerously uneven, his heartbeat was a mess and the worst part was his throbbing dick, it was almost painful now.
His thoughts had become far hazier than before, there were even times when he extended his hands towards a few women he saw on the street, losing whatever control he had left.
It took all his willpower to stop himself and that made him realize how dangerous he was to society.
He...
He needed to be locked away.
He... shouldn’t even be living.
Not with the thoughts he had been having.
Lucian’s violet eyes moved to the kitchen, more accurately, the knife that was inside. For a moment, a thought appeared in his head.
Should he... end it all?
He wondered.
He had already lost everything, had he not? What was the point of living?
Revenge?
How was he supposed to take revenge when he couldn’t even exist in a functioning society?
Might as well do the world a favour by removing himself before he did something stupid. Lucian could feel it, his control was going away, this wasn’t a matter of willpower, he was simply losing control over his body.
His mind was... collapsing.
So instead of—
Knock Knock Knock
His thoughts froze when he heard a sudden knock.
The same knock he heard that day when he appeared.
That bastard...
Was it him?
The moment he thought about it, his violet eyes shined dangerously.
This was good, if he was going to die, he would take that bastard with him. So Lucian quickly turned around and opened the door, ready to pounce on the bastard and take him by surprise but—
"Lucian?"
The moment he saw who it was, his entire body froze.
Naomi Pierce.
His neighbour, his classmate, his... friend, in a quiet sort of way.
"Leave."
He spoke as he looked at her with glowing violet eyes.
Naomi and Lucian were quiet childhood-neighbour friends. Their parents were good friends, so they grew up near each other. Naomi was actually closer to Lucian’s parents than she was with Lucian despite being in the same class as him.
Their personal interactions were so few that most of their classmates didn’t even know they were neighbours or childhood friends.
The small, not-so-obvious bond between them, however, was real. A bond that was built through small moments, moments where they supported each other silently, like how Naomi always saved Lucian a seat near the window or slid her notes across the desk without a word when Lucian forgot his.
"You look... sick."
Naomi narrowed her eyes when she saw him.
Flushed skin.
Tense jaw.
Uneven breathing.
Those strange glowing violet eyes.
Sweat near his temple.
Hands gripping the door too tightly.
And... that risen tent in his pants he was trying so hard to hide.
"Hospital medicine?"
She guessed.
Naomi was actually out of the city with her parents because of her father’s business, some neighbours called them, telling them what happened, the entire family wanted to return but they had an extremely important meeting tomorrow.
The family planned to leave the moment the business was done, but Naomi did not wait, she returned on her own, she didn’t even return to her own home, she picked up some food and came right to Lucian.
So yes, she knew what happened.
She knew about Lucian’s parents, she knew he was admitted to the hospital and seeing the state his body was in—
It wasn’t difficult to see that the meds had reacted, that too, in the worst way possible.
"I said leave."
Lucian raised his voice, his violet eyes glowing even more strongly.
"No."
Naomi shook her head, she couldn’t help but notice how his eyes were glowing unnaturally, but she didn’t point it out, not when his body was shaking so violently.
Instead, she extended her hand to hold his and—
"Come, I’ll take you to the hospital."
"No!"
Lucian slapped her arm away as he backed away in a hurry, then he stumbled and fell down, the ’tent’ he was trying to hide now quite apparent.
"Naomi, leave."
Lucian spoke even more loudly, her soft, warm scent was already making him lose his mind, controlling himself had become even more difficult.
Naomi, however, just used this chance to walk in and closed the door behind her.
"What’s wrong with you? You need to come to the hospita—"
"I can’t go to the hospital!"
Lucian screamed. He said that in order to send her away, Naomi, however, misunderstood that.
Medical bills...
They must be expensive.
And with his parents gone...
Lucian wasn’t in the position to afford them.
The worst part was that she couldn’t help him either, her own family had been facing financial trouble for the past few months, this was also the reason they had left the city for important business that might help them get back on their feet.
All this while, it was Lucian’s parents helping them and Naomi...
She clenched her fists as she thought about how she would never see them again or thank them for everything they had done.
"How long has it been like thi—"
She tried to ask, wanting to start a conversation in some way but—
"I SAID LEAVE!!"
Lucian screamed.
"And I said I will not!"
Naomi held her ground.
"If Aunty was here, she would have let me stay."
She played the only card she knew would work and Lucian—
He froze.
He looked at her, his breathing was now even more uneven, his heartbeat had become a mess but his thoughts were even worse.
He needed her to leave, as soon as possible.
"Naomi..."
He called out.
"Please... leave."
He begged.
"You are not... safe here..."
"Why? Because you might attack me like you did with Ryan?"
Lucian blinked.
"I know, I heard.
And I also know you wouldn’t have done that if you weren’t pushed beyond your limits, so I understa—"
"You don’t understand!"
Lucian raised his voice again.
"You are not safe here!"
Naomi looked at him, she looked at the anger and fear in his strange violet eyes, she looked at his trembling body, hard breathing, his hands that were scraping the floor, that tent that was twitching violently—
And Naomi—
She gulped.
She understood what Lucian was trying to say, why he wanted her to leave, what state he was in and she—
She made up her mind.
"Tsk, this is such a cliche."
She snorted as she walked towards him.
