Chapter 2082: Dao Pioneering Begins (3)
Something seemed to be isolating the chaotic space from the Origin Land.
On one side was dense death qi, and on the other side, dense chaos power could be found.
This was quite similar to the situation around the Chaos Mountain where source qi could be found on one side and chaos power could be found on the other.
At the very end of the Death Realm, the border between two worlds was visible.
An indistinct barrier seemed to be separating the two worlds.
Everyone had solemn expressions. Wan Tiansheng asked, "Are you doing it here? The experts of the Death Realm might be able to sense it if you do it here. It's too near. Would that bring unwanted troubles?"
Su Yu did not answer. He flew forward and reached out toward the chaotic space.
The moment he pushed his hand out of the barrier, he sensed the familiar power of chaos.
With a slight frown, he said, "I understand how dangerous this is, but I'm worried about something else."
Everyone focused on him.
He stared ahead and said, "Are there ancient chaos beasts out there?"
Hearing that, those who had gone to the Upper Realm with him frowned.
Ancient chaos beasts.
These beasts resided in the chaotic space, and they rarely left their territory. It was unknown if that was due to an unknown restriction or some other reason. It was interesting how even the powerful heavenly desolate beast had chosen to switch from the chaos dao to the physical body dao after entering the Myriad Realms.
Was there a force rejecting the chaos beasts in the Myriad Realms? The time dao covered the Myriad Realms, Human Emperor's dao covered the Upper Realm, and death spirit dao covered the Death Realm.
Thus, the chaos beasts had never been sighted inside the Death Realm. But would pioneering a dao amid the chaos attract these chaos beasts? One ought to know that the restriction on one's cultivation level did not apply to the chaos beasts.
Those ancient enough could very well grow all the way to Masters of Laws.
Wan Tiansheng frowned and said, "That's possible. I even suspect that the regions of chaos outside the three realms are all connected. Can one freely move through these regions? If they are connected, things might get troublesome. Even if there are no chaos beasts in this area, there are quite a lot of them in the Chaos Mountain."
Su Yu nodded. But after a short pause, he laughed. "It's no big deal. We're near the border. At worst, we can withdraw into the Death Realm. The chaos beasts won't follow."
Nobody said anything.
Yes, that was a feasible plan. But what if a powerful chaos beast were to arrive? Could Su Yu even withdraw in time?
Su Yu inhaled deeply. At this point, he had to push forward. That was his sole option. His current strength was far from enough for him to face the coming era of strife. How was he supposed to establish himself among the numerous emerging monsters? He had no choice but to pioneer his dao now.
"Keep an eye out for me, Principal Wan. Chaos beasts below the level of Masters of Laws can be handled. As for those at the level of Masters of Laws, I'll need to withdraw back into the Death Realm when they arrive."
They had enough strength to kill even Venerables. It was experts beyond that level that he was worried about. Nobody knew how ancient some of these beasts were, and nobody knew how strong they had grown.

Having made up his mind, Su Yu wasted no time and stepped through the barrier.
After plunging himself into the chaotic space, he continued onward. It wasn't a good idea to pioneer his dao so close to the Death Realm, but he also couldn't go too far lest he stumble upon some powerful chaos beasts.
Just as Wan Tiansheng and the others were about to follow, Su Yu said, "Don't follow. Just observe from behind the barrier. It's not a good idea to provoke chaos with the auras of so many beings cultivating the myriad daos."
However, Lan Tian stepped right through the barrier without worry. His entire body was wrapped in a thin layer of chaos as he did so.
As for Fat Ball, he glanced at the girl beside him and said, "You go as well, Tea Plant."
When the tea plant looked at him in confusion, he sent a voice transmission, "You can go. You're part of the chaos lineage as well. When chaos beasts arrive, you can chat with them or something. Maybe we can avoid a fight."
The tea plant continued staring in confusion.
Was that even possible?
Fine, fine. She decided to trust Fat Ball.
And thus, she moved straight through the barrier as well. Unlike the others who would feel suppressed upon entering the chaotic space, she actually felt comfort washing all over her. She started frolicking in joy while moving in Su Yu's direction. She even giggled with joy as she moved.
Su Yu glanced behind him, but he said nothing. Sure enough, the tea plant was a chaos cultivator. No wonder she could wash herself in the River of Time without any issue. After moving tens of thousands of meters forward, Su Yu stopped and looked back again. Wan Tiansheng and the others were all waiting silently behind the barrier.
This should be far enough. Any further away and the people behind the barrier might not be able to get a good look at the process anymore.
Beside him, Lan Tian said, "Go ahead. Tea Plant and I will act as your dao protectors. We can easily handle the more regular chaos beasts."
Back when Lan Tian pioneered his dao, Su Yu and Wan Tiansheng acted as the dao protectors. Now that Su Yu was pioneering his dao, Lan Tian was determined to return the favor.
Not far away, the tea plant was still rolling about happily like an excited child.
Hearing Lan Tian's words, she asked, "Lan Tian, will the chaos beasts really come?"
Lan Tian answered, "Who knows?"
He only knew that the possibility wasn't zero. And then, he dragged the tea plant further away to keep watch for Su Yu.
Su Yu said nothing. At this point, there was no need for him to be too courteous when someone was trying to help him.
A book appeared. It was the Mark of Civilization. Then, a second indistinct book flickered into existence. It was the Book of Time. Next, Xing Yu's token and human lord's token appeared one after another.
The four items floated around Su Yu. He might need all four of them during his dao pioneering.
The Mark of Civilization flipped open, revealing the numerous pages Su Yu had retrived from the River of Time. These pages had only been buried for several months in the river. They hadn't been given that much time to grow.
There were three thousand pages in total. Some were weak, and some were strong. The devil page, in particular, had grown to the level of a tier-three Daofuse. On the other hand, the fire hog page was still stuck at the level of a Skysoar. That was way too weak.
Excessive imbalance was an issue, but Su Yu had a solution for that. Meanwhile, the daos in the Book of Time were a lot more balanced than Su Yu's Mark of Civilization. That was mostly a result of time. The Book of Time had been given enough time to grow while the Mark of Civilization had only been allowed to grow among the myriad daos for a few months.
Su Yu did not stop there. He also took out a large amount of resources, such as heavenly source qi, sunmoon profound yellow liquid, and so on before leaving them floating around him as well.
One character after another jumped out of his sea of willpower before entering the Mark of Civilization. The Mark of Civilization started emanating a holy yet mysterious presence. At the same time, Su Yu started amassing strength, both corporeal and incorporeal.

Behind the barrier.
Wan Tiansheng and the heavenly kings looked on with worried expressions.
With a deep frown, Great Zhou King sent a voice transmission, "In truth, he's not fully prepared for this. This is too much of a rush. His chances of succeeding would have been much higher in ten years. But now..."
Su Yu was a monster. Monstrously talented. But he was still too young. He did not have the chance to accumulate more comprehension over the myriad daos. His cultivation of the myriad daos was still shallow. Pioneering his dao now was a risky choice.
With a sigh, Wan Tiansheng sent a voice transmission, "He has no other choice. We're running out of time. War has erupted in the Upper Realm while Hundred Battle is returning to the Lower Realm.
"Not even the pen dao can push him to the level of a Venerable in a short time. As for Human Emperor's dao, that won't be his original dao. What will happen when Human Emperor returns?"
Human Emperor wasn't dead. And that was his pioneered dao. It was different from something like the pen dao, a dao he could abandon without much thought. What should Su Yu do when Human Emperor was back? Should he move out of the dao?
But what should he cultivate next? What if he refused to move out of the dao? That would also be troublesome as that was a dao Human Emperor had pioneered himself. Masters of Laws were starting to emerge. Su Yu did not have the luxury of time. He couldn't take his time and cultivate slowly.
Great Zhou King sank into silence. If Su Yu were slightly less ambitious, he could continue cultivating Human Emperor's dao even after Human Emperor's return. That dao would probably be strong enough to push him to the level of a Master of Law.
One ought to know that the physical body dao and death spirit dao were both powerful enough to produce multiple experts at the level of Masters of Laws. Human Emperor's dao would definitely be powerful enough to do the same.
But would Su Yu be willing to subject himself to the mercy of others? This was probably one of the main reasons for Su Yu to reject Human Emperor's dao. Perhaps he would accept the dao if Human Emperor were dead, but that was pure speculation. The fact was that Human Emperor wasn't dead.
Great Zhou King sighed again and said nothing. Everyone watched attentively. All they could do was pray for Su Yu's success. Of course, there were also some who were merely watching in excitement, such as Heavendoom. Far away, Su Yu's aura started growing.
Strictly speaking, he was still a Sunmoon. Yet his aura had grown to a level where he felt stronger than Daofuses. Those with the Heaven Gate would be able to see that thousands of daos were spilling out of the Mark of Civilization. These were the fake daos he had been nurturing in the book.
Chaos itself started shaking as the chaos power rejected these daos. However, the Mark of Civilization continued flipping rapidly.
"Down!"
With a roar, the two tokens slammed down, stabilizing the chaos power around him. The actual dao pioneering would begin soon. Everyone watched on with complicated expressions.
Would he succeed?
