Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Tribal Pride and Wild Desires

"And who is this beautiful young woman?" said Maya.

Mila stepped forward, her posture perfect and formal as she dipped into a deep, traditional bow, her hands pressed flat against her thighs in the exact manner the women of the northern tribes greeted their mothers-in-law.

"It is an honor to meet you, Aunt Maya," said Mila.

Maya froze, her breath catching in her throat as she stared at the young woman, then back to her nephew. Her mind raced, realizing this wasn’t just a girl Kellar was courting or a mere hunting partner. Mila had greeted her as family, claiming the title of a bound wife.

A sharp, sudden pang of grief pierced Maya’s chest. For years, Kellar had been her sole responsibility, the boy she protected from the harsh realities of a tribe that hated him. Now, looking at the heavy bone gauntlets on his hands and the beautiful woman by his side, she felt the painful sting of losing something precious. She knew she couldn’t monopolize her nephew forever; he was growing into a man, a hunter who needed to build his own future. The lingering ache in her heart gave way to a warm, genuine sense of relief and happiness for him.

"You don’t waste any time, do you, Kellar?" said Maya.

Before Kellar could respond, a heavy pair of footsteps crunched through the packed snow as Mila’s mother pushed her way through the murmuring crowd. She was a stout, sturdy woman of the tribe, and she didn’t care about the rumors naming Kellar a pariah. She ignored the sneers of the elders, her eyes scanning Kellar’s frame, noting the thick, solid density of his enhanced muscles and the calm, steady weight of his presence.

"You did well out there, boy," said Mila’s mother.

She looked between Kellar and her daughter, a broad, triumphant grin spreading across her weathered face. To her, tribal politics meant nothing compared to results. The two individuals everyone had mocked as the weakest links of the generation had just marched out of the freezing wilderness as the ultimate victors, and that raw success was more than enough to earn her respect.

"Nobody expected the two of you to make it back alive, let alone take first place," said Mila’s mother.

Mila’s mother laughed slapping Kellar hard on the shoulder, her cheerful demeanor unbothered by her status as a widow in a brutal clan.

"Did you fuck him yet, girl?" said Mila’s mother.

Mila froze, her face turning bright crimson as she stared at the frozen dirt.

"You need to put that tight cunt of yours to good use," said Mila’s mother. "Don’t you worry, boy. I will give her proper instructions later tonight. She will ride you like a professional."

Mila’s mother roared with laughter, her chest shaking with pure joy for her daughter’s fortune. Kellar shifted his weight, clearing his throat with a uncomfortable look on his face, keeping his eyes fixed on the older woman. Mila refused to lift her head, her cheeks burning so hot they could melt the surrounding snow.

Mila’s mother stopped laughing, her sharp eyes darting between Kellar’s awkward expression and her daughter’s intense blush.

"No way," said Mila’s mother. "Seriously? You two fucked out in the open wilderness?"

"Mother, please, let us speak about this later," said Mila.

"Tell me everything right now!" shouted Mila’s mother.

Mila’s voice was a desperate whisper, but the loud, booming demands of her mother had already echoed across the ceremonial square. Dozens of hunters and clan members turned their heads, their eyes locking onto Kellar with intense, burning curiosity.

The women of the northern tribes were fierce, and Mila was known to be savage. It was the very reason she had fought to become a hunter despite the heavy discrimination from the elders. She was wild, indomitable, and possessed a fiery temper that no man in the village had ever managed to tame. Yet, here she stood silent, flush-faced, and submissive by Kellar’s side.

A realization washed over the gathering crowd. The men and women of the clan stared at Kellar’s waist, their minds reaching the exact same conclusion. Kellar’s cock had to be massive to break and tame a wild, fierce huntress like Mila in a single night through the freezing cold.

Kellar, Mila, and Maya walked away from the center of the square, their faces bright with a ix of relief and triumph. Krag caught up to them with heavy, deliberate strides, a rare, approving smile breaking through his rugged beard.

"Congratulations on completing the hunt, and on securing a mate," said Krag. "I wish you both a long, fertile life together."

The giant instructor reached into his heavy leather pouch and pulled out a crude but sturdy necklace strung with three polished animal bones, placing it into Kellar’s hand.

"I have high hopes for the two of you," said Krag. "Keep working hard. Starting tomorrow morning, you must present your monthly tribute to the clan just like every other adult hunter. I assume your elders will explain the specifics to you. The protection of childhood is over."

Krag turned on his heel and walked away, his massive greatsword clanking against his thigh. Maya stood still, her eyes tracking the instructor’s retreating figure with a heavy, worried expression. Mila’s mother scoffed waving her hand dismissively.

"He is only trying to scare you, boy," said Mila’s mother. "Do not worry about it. Follow me to my hut. At least there is still some green vegetation growing around my patch, and you two will have plenty to eat."

Maya snapped her head toward the older woman, her eyes narrowing as her protective instincts flared.

"Do you want them to move in with you?" said Maya.

"Should they not?" said Mila’s mother. "My house is quite a bit larger than yours, no offense intended. Your place is located in the worst, most freezing corner of the village."

Maya crossed her arms over her chest, stepping into the older woman’s personal space with a sharp look.

"My home has kept Kellar warm and alive for years without any help from your family," said Maya.

Mila’s mother laughed unfazed by Maya’s icy tone, stepping closer until their shoulders almost touched.

"A small, cramped hut is no place for a giant boy who needs room to breed," said Mila’s mother. "Unless you plan on listening to them groan through the thin walls every single night."
