Chapter 1099: Chapter 1097: What Man Isn’t Jealous?
Zhu Qianyu’s face turned even redder. Fortunately, Nuonuo had run off to the grass to watch the two little ones; otherwise, if she overheard, it would have been even more embarrassing.
"Sister, I never thought you were so cheeky before. Has Young Master Yan been leading you astray?"
Zhu Qianying burst out laughing, "Silly girl, what do you mean by cheeky? You and Ji Huan are adults, right? Or, did I remember wrong, and my sister is actually only eight years old?"
Zhu Qianyu decided to ignore her cheeky sister and stood up, brushing the grass off her backside. "Zhu Qianying, are you sulking because Young Master Yan bullied you, and you’re trying to get even with me?"
Besides that, Zhu Qianyu couldn’t think of any other reason.
Zhu Qianying raised her head, her dark eyes reflecting the sunlight, glinting unusually.
"That’s right, he bullied me. You’re meeting him this Friday; how do you plan on helping me get even?"
Zhu Qianyu made a chopping motion, "I’ll punch him!"
Zhu Qianying burst out laughing, "With that little build of yours, you think you can take him? Dream on! Ji Huan might be more likely!"
"Sigh, the more I hear, the more curious I get. I really want to see Young Master Yan’s extraordinary charm soon!" Zhu Qianyu stretched lazily and spoke casually.
Zhu Qianying kicked her lightly on the backside, "Be careful what you say; watch out for Ji Huan getting jealous!"
Zhu Qianyu thought about it; it seemed that Ji Huan didn’t get jealous much.
"Sister, don’t worry, Ji Huan isn’t the jealous type!"
Zhu Qianying gave another light pat on her behind, "You’re pretending; there’s no man who doesn’t get jealous."
Having finished teaching the two mischievous little treasures, Nuonuo vaguely heard the sisters’ conversation and turned to Zhu Qianyu, "Xiao Yu, don’t conclude too early. I agree with Shadow’s view!"
Zhu Qianyu rolled her eyes, choosing not to argue with them.
Zhu Qianying chimed in, "Xiao Yu, a man’s jealousy means he cares about you. If he doesn’t get the slightest bit jealous, then that means, ahem, ahem!"
Zhu Qianyu thought the flames shouldn’t only burn herself, "Sister, according to you, Young Master Yan is very jealous, isn’t he?"
Zhu Qianying was momentarily speechless, "He might be... too."
Zhu Qianyu was not satisfied with her sister’s ambiguous reply.
"What do you mean ’might be’?"
"It means that if a man is jealous, it shows he cares about you. This applies to any man."
Zhu Qianyu felt her sister was avoiding something, but when it came to verbal sparring, she never won against her sister. The topic shifted a few times until Zhu Qianying managed to sidestep it.
"Sister Han, my wedding will be on Christmas; please bring Little Treasure and Brother Ji along."
"Absolutely, absolutely. It’s a pity Beibei and Guoguo are too young; otherwise, they could be your flower boys and share in the joy." Nuonuo looked regrettably.
"No worries, it’s just perfect for Beibei and Guoguo to be flower boys at Xiao Yu’s and Ji Huan’s wedding!"
"Ha, that’s definitely a great idea!"
Nuonuo and Zhu Qianying didn’t take Zhu Qianyu seriously at all, freely imagining and discussing Zhu Qianyu and Ji Huan’s wedding plans, leaving Zhu Qianyu rolling her eyes.
"Shadow, if you need, I could play the wedding march at your wedding, or any other festive tunes."
Zhu Qianying hadn’t really put much thought into her own wedding, nor did she want to burden Nuonuo.
"Thanks, Sister Han; I’ll go back and ask Young Master Yan’s opinion."
"Alright, whenever you need, just contact me. I practice the piano every day, so I won’t be rusty."
Since Nuonuo released a music album and started her concert tour, her fame has increased considerably.
Inviting the violin virtuoso Si Han, who effortlessly combines the talents of a songstress and an actress, to perform at one’s wedding is a pipe dream for many. But for Zhu Qianying, she felt her somewhat impure motives for the wedding would squander Si Han’s beautiful intentions.
"Thanks, Sister Han!" Zhu Qianying expressed her gratitude sincerely again.
Zhu Qianying and Chen Jing stayed another night at the Ji Family, enjoying their warm hospitality, before flying back to L City together the next morning.
In the evening, Zhu Qianyu received a call from her sister, saying that their mom had settled down, temporarily staying in one of Young Master Yan’s apartments. Even the bold Zhu Family wouldn’t dare extend their reach into Young Master Yan’s domain.
With her mind at ease, at ten o’clock at night, Zhu Qianyu resumed the video call that had been interrupted for two nights.
Seeing Ji Huan on the screen, Zhu Qianyu suddenly remembered what her sister said during the day and asked, "Ji Huan, my sister said jealousy means a man cares about you, and it applies to all men. Is that true?"
Ji Huan nodded without hesitation, "Of course, as long as it’s someone he loves, men are always jealous, almost invariably."
Zhu Qianyu coughed twice, "I thought you wouldn’t be!"
Ji Huan’s eyes seemed to pierce through the screen and land straight on Zhu Qianyu’s face, "Xiao Yu, tell me honestly, what did you do wrong?"
Zhu Qianyu shook her head quickly, "I didn’t do anything. I just thought you were broad-minded and wouldn’t sweat the small stuff."
Ji Huan replied very seriously, "This has nothing to do with being broad-minded or petty. Anyway, let me tell you, even the way you treat Beibei and Guoguo makes me jealous!"
Zhu Qianyu really hadn’t noticed that.
But Ji Huan said it earnestly, without a hint of joking.
"Just like last time when I met with your sister, Young Master Yan came along too. Before I introduced myself, Young Master Yan’s gaze could kill; I reached out, but he ignored me until I said I was your boyfriend, then he responded!"
Ji Huan’s words inadvertently gave Zhu Qianyu an answer she’d always wanted.
"So, it seems Young Master Yan really cares about my sister, right?"
Zhu Qianyu’s worries vanished after hearing Ji Huan’s words.
Maybe, just as Mom said, feelings have gradually developed between her sister and Young Master Yan.
"From my intuition as a man, I think that’s indeed the case. But whether your sister and Young Master Yan see it that way, I’m really not sure."
In regards to Young Master Yan and Zhu Qianying’s matters, Ji Huan admitted he still couldn’t see through them.
First, maybe he doesn’t know them well enough.
Second, feelings are like drinking water; only you know if it’s hot or cold.
What outsiders see doesn’t count at all.
"My dad and brother, they didn’t bother you after returning, did they?"
Zhu Zhizhou and his sons directly storming into the Ji Family president’s office was something Ji Huan knew about that very day. However, he trusted his parents and brother’s capabilities in dealing with it, so he hadn’t paid much attention.
And Le Tong and his wife, along with Ji Dabao, probably did not want to embarrass him, so even when they brought it up, it was brief and to the point.
