"Even as a grown-up, you still need someone to coax you to sleep."
"I can walk on my own, you know."
Even in her drunken state, Ning Chu was highly conscious of others' gazes as Wen Yang carried her in his arms.
Turning her body slightly, she buried her face in Wen Yang's chest, clutching tightly onto his shirt. She muttered under her breath, trying to wiggle free and walk on her own.
Standing at 160 cm, she wasn’t particularly short among southern girls, but in Wen Yang's arms, she seemed exceptionally petite.
"I'm not so drunk that I can't even walk."
With one arm supporting her legs and the other around her back, Wen Yang didn't seem to care about the stares they were getting. "It's fine. This way, you won’t wander off drunk and cause a scene."
"I wouldn’t..."
"We're almost there."
Zhang Shaoqing had booked rooms at an "e-sports hotel," equipped with mid-to-high-end PCs capable of handling most games on the market.
"I got us two double rooms. Once you get Ning Chu settled, we can jump into a game together," he said, glancing back at Wen Yang and the small figure in his arms.
"I’ve never seen Ning Chu like this before—looking just like a little girl," Zhang Shaoqing added with a smirk.
"Well, you’re not Wen Yang," Wang Jie teased from the side.
"How much did this cost? Let me..."
"Don't insult me, man!" Zhang Shaoqing interrupted, grinning cheekily. "This is my mom’s money. It doesn’t hurt to spend it!"
With the room cards in hand, Wen Yang carried Ning Chu up to the third floor of the hotel.
The two double rooms were right next to each other. Wen Yang picked one at random and stepped inside, gently placing Ning Chu on the bed.
Ning Chu rolled over, her half-lidded eyes staring at the wall. Her flushed cheeks radiated a vivid redness, and her unfocused eyes lacked clarity.
Her tail, which had been tucked discreetly under her skirt, finally stretched out. Emerging from under the fabric, it wagged high in the air like a whip before slamming down on the bed with a loud thud.
Zhang Shaoqing and Wang Jie followed Wen Yang into the room. When they saw the heart-shaped tail, their jaws dropped in shock.
"Holy crap, she really is a succubus?!"
"I told you guys already," Wen Yang replied, casually pulling a blanket over Ning Chu.
"I thought you were joking," Zhang Shaoqing said, staring at the black tail with curiosity. He reached out a hand to touch it, only for Wen Yang to smack his hand away.
Zhang Shaoqing retracted his hand with an awkward laugh. "It’s just a tail—what’s the big deal?"
"You’re too handsy," Wang Jie quipped. "You know tails on demi-humans are usually off-limits, right? Especially a succubus's tail."
"Well, I’ve touched plenty before."
"That’s because you’re shameless."
Let me continue from where I left off:
Wen Yang shot Zhang Shaoqing a glare before heading into the bathroom. “I need to use the bathroom. What game are we playing tonight?”
Zhang Shaoqing and Wang Jie’s eyes lit up, and they eagerly followed him into the bathroom.
The bathroom was small, barely enough space for one person, let alone ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) three grown men. Wen Yang felt cramped as the other two crowded around him, staring at him as if they had some kind of ulterior motive.
“What’s wrong with you two?”
“I just happened to need the bathroom too,” Zhang Shaoqing said with a cheeky grin, starting to unbutton his pants. “Come to think of it, we’ve known each other for so long, but I don’t think I’ve ever shared a bathroom trip with you.”
“I’m just here to wash my hands,” Wang Jie said, trying to deflect the awkwardness.
“Wang Jie, you coward! Are you embarrassed because it’s small?” Zhang Shaoqing teased.
Wen Yang rubbed his temples in exasperation. Normally reserved, Wen Yang had become a bit bolder after drinking. With a sly smirk, he couldn’t resist showing off a little.
“No way!” Zhang Shaoqing exclaimed, eyes wide. “That big? How does any girl handle that?”
“Only a succubus could manage, right? Ning Chu must be something else!”
“From now on, you’re my big bro!”
“Wang Jie, stop being so shy! We’re not going to laugh at you!”
From the bed, Ning Chu stirred, lifting her head groggily. She could hear the ruckus coming from the bathroom. Scratching her head, she mumbled something incomprehensible before flopping back onto the pillow.
Though her mind was foggy, the conversation in the bathroom was still audible. Lying on the bed, she muttered to herself with a dazed smile, “I’m amazing, huh~?”
“Alright, that’s enough,” Wen Yang finally said as he exited the bathroom, shaking his head. He turned on the computer in the room and asked, “Are we playing or not?”
“Of course! We’re gaming all night. Let’s see who’s the first weakling to give up and go to bed!” Zhang Shaoqing declared, pointing at Ning Chu sprawled on the bed.
“She doesn’t count.”
With the other two leaving for their own room, the noise finally died down.
Ning Chu remained in a half-asleep state. Once the quiet settled in, she blacked out entirely, snoring softly.
While waiting for the computer to boot up, Wen Yang glanced back at her. Seeing her small figure sprawled out on the bed, he walked over to tuck the kicked-off blanket back over her.
“Can’t even sleep peacefully,” he muttered, standing by the bed and looking down at her delicate face. Unable to resist, he reached out and lightly pinched her cheek.
Then, noticing her tail wagging lazily outside the blanket, he tucked it under as well to avoid tempting Zhang Shaoqing back to try grabbing it again.
“Midnight snacks...” Ning Chu mumbled in her sleep, smacking her lips.
“When you wake up,” Wen Yang said with a chuckle, shaking his head.
He recalled how she used to insist that he couldn’t touch her until they were married. Now, here she was, dreaming of "naughty" things even in her sleep.
Back during winter break, she had vowed to "abstain from lustful thoughts," yet the harder she tried, the more she indulged. Except for the few days when she had her period, Ning Chu had passed out from exhaustion nearly every night.
At least tonight, she was drunk rather than worn out—it wasn’t too bad, all things considered.
Wen Yang, still slightly tipsy himself, sat at the computer and joined the voice channel Zhang Shaoqing had set up. As they played, he kept glancing back to check on Ning Chu, ensuring she was okay.
Each time he looked, Ning Chu had changed her sleeping position—curled up, sprawled out, kicking off the blanket, or lying flat with one leg propped up on the computer desk.
“Awake?”
“Hmm!”
“You’ve only slept for half an hour. We haven’t even finished one game yet,” Wen Yang said, glancing at the clock on his desktop.
“You’re noisy. Talking all the time~”
Turning his head, he saw Ning Chu sitting in the gaming chair beside him. She was still groggy from the alcohol, lounging with her legs propped up on the desk.
Her short skirt had ridden up due to gravity, but underneath, she was still wearing black safety shorts and thick leggings.
“I want midnight snacks~”
“Let me finish this game, and I’ll order some barbecue. I’m a little hungry myself—we only had cake earlier.”
Zhang Shaoqing’s voice came through the headset. “...What’s going on?”
Ning Chu didn’t reply, letting her legs fall off the desk to rest them on Wen Yang’s lap.
Wen Yang stiffened, and his computer screen turned black and white as his in-game character died. In his headset, Zhang Shaoqing’s cursing filled the air.
Looking down at the legs draped over him, Wen Yang glanced at Ning Chu, who was now smirking defiantly, her hands on her hips, practically daring him to react.
“Hey, you guys keep playing without me for a bit,” Wen Yang said into the mic.
“What’s wrong?”
“Ning Chu’s acting up. I’ll put her to bed first and join later.”
“Even as a grown-up, you still need someone to coax you to sleep?”
