The sky remained gloomy, with no sign of sunlight.

A light drizzle persisted into the next day, filling the air with a dampness that made everyone feel uncomfortable.

“Morning, Ning Chu!”

The ever-energetic husky girl, Yan Xinya, enthusiastically rushed over and clung to Ning Chu’s arm.

Ning Chu’s face showed her lack of enthusiasm as Yan Xinya rubbed her cheek against her, making her face sting a bit from the rough contact.

“What’s up? Feeling down?”

“No, I’m fine.”

“Then why didn’t you push me away?”

With that, Ning Chu pressed her palm against Yan Xinya’s face and gently pushed her aside.

“Wah~ Ning Chu doesn’t love me anymore~”

“Ridiculous.”

Ning Chu rolled her eyes at Yan Xinya’s antics and then asked, “How’s that octopus you’re raising?”

“It looks sickly, barely moves... I think maybe we need to add some salt to the water. Don’t octopuses live in the sea?”

“Hmm... that does make sense.”

Her mood instantly lifted a bit.

Even if that octopus was the tentacle monster, at this rate, it would probably only be a few days before it ended up dead in the hands of these girls.

“I even caught two cockroaches last night to feed it, but it wouldn’t eat them,” Yan Xinya sighed. “I guess I’ll have to wait for the small fish and shrimp I ordered online to arrive.”

“Cockroaches...?”

“I was wearing gloves!”

Ning Chu scooted a bit farther from the wolf girl, feeling particularly disgusted.

This girl was a bit too bold—she could actually catch cockroaches by hand? That was just gross!

She turned to look at Lily, who was resting her chin on her hand, staring absently at the blackboard. “Lily, what are you thinking about?”

“Nothing.”

For some reason, Lily looked more attractive than usual today.

That sneaky succubus must have secretly put on makeup again!

Ning Chu lay her head on her desk, casually flipping through her textbook, while thoughts of becoming a magical girl flickered in her mind.

There were definitely risks, but if she could bring Qian Qian along, two magical girls against one tentacle monster gave them a decent chance of winning.

It was certainly better than letting those unaware girls be tricked by the black cat, getting excited about becoming magical girls only to end up as breeding grounds...

And the perks... well, having magic powers would be incredibly cool! Plus, she’d get a physique even stronger than a succubus’s—no more fainting spells to worry about!

However, there was something suspiciously manipulative about that black cat. It seemed overly eager to make magical girl contracts.

It made her wonder if the black cat was a spy for the demons, dedicated to delivering high-quality breeding grounds to them.

Or maybe it was just a troublemaking cat? Stirring up chaos for entertainment.

“Are your horns getting bigger?”

A shadow suddenly loomed over her, and a teasing voice came from above. Ning Chu looked up to see Zhang Shaoqing standing in front of her desk, reaching toward her head.

She instinctively tried to pull back, but it was too late.

“A new accessory?”

But Wen Yang quickly caught Zhang Shaoqing’s hand, ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) frowning with displeasure. “Don’t touch her.”

Zhang Shaoqing awkwardly retracted his hand, muttering, “It’s just a headband. Why so serious?”

He then sat down with Wang Jie, leaning forward with curiosity as he continued to examine Ning Chu’s horns.

It did seem like they’d gotten a bit bigger since he last saw them.

They looked so real, and they even seemed to grow?

“I swapped it out. I was washing the one from yesterday,” Ning Chu replied calmly, having anticipated this scenario. Under the desk, however, she sneakily kicked Wen Yang’s leg with her little shoe.

You’re overreacting!

Let him touch it if he wants—just as long as he doesn’t touch the base.

Wen Yang didn’t budge. He didn’t want any other guy laying a hand on his girlfriend.

If anything, he was even more possessive of his little succubus; he’d get jealous if even girls got too close to her.

“Feels like it won’t stay a secret much longer.”

Ning Chu leaned close, resting her hand on Wen Yang’s shoulder as she whispered in his ear.

Her breath, carrying a faint, girlish fragrance, made Wen Yang’s earlobes redden slightly as he awkwardly touched his nose.

“Yeah, this guy has sticky fingers. If he sneaks up on you one day and grabs too hard...”

“Maybe I should just tell him outright, so he’ll stop trying to touch me all the time.”

Ning Chu glanced at Zhang Shaoqing, who was visibly itching to reach out again.

Such a pest!

Doesn’t listen to a thing! A complete nuisance!

By then, the teacher had already entered the classroom and was slowly preparing to take attendance.

Ning Chu sniffled, resting her head on the desk again as she wondered how to bring up her horns with Zhang Shaoqing.

She’d already given him a heads-up about them before, mentioning that her horns were real. He shouldn’t be too surprised, right?

“Are you coming down with something?”

Wen Yang had noticed her small sniffle.

“A little, maybe? I might’ve caught a chill last night.”

“Dress warmer, and don’t wear skirts.”

With the temperature fluctuations and high humidity, it was prime flu season.

“These yoga pants are warm enough...” Just then, Ning Chu heard her name being called. She raised her hand, responding, “Here!”

After signaling her presence, she leaned back down and asked quietly, “Wen Yang, isn’t your birthday coming up?”

“Birthday?” Wen Yang blinked. “I don’t think so?”

“Your Gregorian birthday is next week, isn’t it?”

“Oh, maybe?”

“When’s your lunar birthday? Most people here celebrate it on the lunar calendar.”

“I don’t know...”

“You don’t know?”

“No one’s celebrated it for me since I was a kid.”

Zhang Shaoqing suddenly leaned over. “Birthday? Who’s having a birthday? I’ll treat them to a maid café!”

Ning Chu shot him a glare. “Get lost!”

“A legit maid café! Not the type you can bring girls home from! Why do you assume the worst?”

In a quieter voice, she added, “Next time, invite me.”

I mean, come on! I’ve never been to a maid café! If it’s legit, shouldn’t I experience it at least once?

It’s gotta be more wholesome than a bar or karaoke lounge, right?

The rich, carefree young man grinned and patted his chest. “Next time’s on me!”

“Deal!”

After setting up an impromptu trip to the maid café, Ning Chu turned back to Wen Yang. “If you don’t remember your lunar birthday, we’ll just go by the Gregorian one. Is there anything you want?”

“Hmm...” Wen Yang thought for a moment but couldn’t come up with anything.

With a beautiful, mischievous succubus girlfriend, days filled with classes and evenings spent gaming together, life was good enough that he hardly wanted for anything material.

The only downside was being a bit strapped for cash, but that wasn’t something he could fix at the moment.

“No need to get me anything. I didn’t get you anything last time.”

“Last time...”

Last time, Wen Yang had given Ning Chu a silver ring, which still lay in the compartment of her luggage. Not to mention he’d handed over the male lead title to her.

“Well, I’ll get you a matching ring.”

She thought it’d be nice to give Wen Yang a ring of his own. That way, whenever they wore them around campus, everyone would know they were a couple, scaring off any troublesome girls with ideas.
