“We actually have two succubi in our class~ Such nice figures~”
“Especially the one with the long black hair! So shy but trying to keep a straight face~ So cute! I want to take her home~”
“The short-haired one is even prettier and has an even better figure!”
A group of girls chatted as they trickled out of the classroom, whispering about the two “succubi of shame” in their class.
Wen Yang leaned against the hallway railing, overhearing the girls’ chatter about Ning Chu, and he felt a sense of relief.
They seemed pretty friendly.
Maybe Ning Chu would even make some new friends among them.
It wasn’t long before a small succubus darted out of the classroom, rushing over to him, burying her flushed face into his chest as she wrapped her arms around his waist.
Her horns, now as long as his index finger, poked into his ribs, making him inhale sharply from the sting, while Ning Chu let out a little yelp of pain herself.
But he still lowered his head, gently patting her on the head as he asked softly, “What’s wrong?”
“All those girls staring at me while I changed... Ahhh, I’m dying of embarrassment!”
“They kept looking at me! And some of them even wanted to pull on my tail!”
“Next time we have yoga, I’m wearing my yoga clothes underneath so I don’t have to change there!”
Just then, Yan Xinya and Lily strolled out of the classroom, catching the tail end of Ning Chu’s complaints. The wolf-girl laughed as she dismissed her plan. “Oh, that won’t work~ You’d get all sweaty after class. Would you really put your jacket back on over that?”
Seeing her friends arrive, Ning Chu quickly released Wen Yang’s waist, grumbling, “I didn’t even break a sweat! It wasn’t that tiring.”
“Today was only the first class; the intensity was probably lower.”
She sighed, looking over at Lily, who shared her distress, but Lily only blushed and lowered her head.
For all their succubus traits, these two seemed to be the shyest ones in the locker room.
Maybe if they just braved it a few more times, they’d get used to it. Probably just part of the process of adjusting to being a girl...
Ning Chu decided not to dwell on it, taking Wen Yang’s arm and heading for the stairs. “Let’s go eat at the cafeteria? I’m starving.”
“Food time!” Yan Xinya shot to the front, urging everyone, “Hurry up! Let’s go eat!”
Yoga class was only 45 minutes, starting at 6:30, so it was just past 7 by now—perfect timing for dinner.
Though the first class hadn’t been too intense, after all the activity, Ning Chu’s stomach was growling.
The sky had already turned dark, with no stars or moon in sight. Under the night sky, the four of them headed to the quiet cafeteria.
Though it wasn’t even 7:30 yet, most of the cafeteria stalls had already closed. The cleaning ladies were mopping up, and only a few students remained scattered about.
The most budget-friendly food was no longer available, but as Ning Chu scanned the open stalls, she noticed a new dumpling stall that had just opened for the semester.
“Wen Yang! I want dumplings!”
She tugged on his arm, pointing toward the dumpling stall.
“Alright, you go find a seat. I’ll get them for you.”
Ning Chu found a seat on her own, reaching up to feel the horns under her hood.
Having wrapped up the storyline involving the twin sisters, her horns had noticeably grown, and the sisters had been absent ever since—her plan had clearly worked.
I’m a genius~
Not only did she avoid any penalties for messing with the plot, but she also managed to make those troublesome girls lose interest in Wen Yang, all while unlocking new possibilities...
“Ning Chu?” Lily sat across from her, tilting her head in confusion. “You’re smiling... kind of strangely.”
“I am not!”
“You totally are!”
Ning Chu, caught off guard by Lily’s cold stare, quickly reined in her wandering thoughts and instead asked, “What did you order?”
“Beef noodles.” Lily pointed to a nearby stall. “It’s good.”
“I’m not a big fan of noodles, but maybe I’ll try it next time...”
“Mm.”
Lily, who was usually quiet, lowered her head and started playing with her phone after their brief exchange.
It didn’t take long before Wen Yang returned, carrying two bowls of soup dumplings.
“Pork and chive, and shrimp and three-flavor,” he said, sitting down next to Ning Chu and handing her a spoon. “Try them and tell me what you think.”
“Soup dumplings, huh...” Ning Chu carefully scooped up a dumpling, blew on it a few times, and then cautiously bit into it, taking a full half-minute to finish the steaming hot bite.
“Not bad, but not as ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) good as my mom’s.” She frowned, muttering, “The filling falls apart too easily; doesn’t even taste like meat.”
“Want me to buy some meat this weekend and make them for you?”
“Yes! I’ll ask my mom for the recipe!”
Her rented place might not have a range hood for stir-frying, but it had all the basics for boiling and steaming, so dumplings and noodles were no problem.
“Out of the way, out of the way!”
Yan Xinya came over with a massive plate of spicy mixed noodles, slamming it onto the table, making it shake as if the whole table was trembling.
Her appetite wasn’t much smaller than Wen Yang’s.
“Hey! Ning Chu, why are you dipping your dumplings in ketchup?!” the wolf-girl exclaimed after noticing her odd choice of condiment. “Isn’t vinegar the usual dip?”
“Huh? I just like it with ketchup.”
Ning Chu had always eaten dumplings with ketchup since she was a child; it was normal in her family. She’d never thought anything was strange about it until she went to college.
“Blasphemy! Give me a taste! Ahh~”
Rolling her eyes, Ning Chu popped a ketchup-dipped dumpling into Yan Xinya’s open mouth. “Hope it burns your mouth!”
“It’s not hot~ But definitely... weird...” Yan Xinya commented. “Lily, you try it too?”
Lily shook her head, content with her beef noodles.
“Then let me try your noodles!”
Watching the two of them mess around, Ning Chu took a few sips of the soup to warm up, then pushed the dumplings toward Wen Yang.
“You’re not eating anymore?”
“They’re not very good,” she complained. “Supposedly handmade, but they taste worse than frozen ones.”
One of the perks of having a boyfriend—anything that tasted bad could just be passed to him to finish.
Wen Yang didn’t mind. He wasn’t a picky eater and had quite an appetite.
“How much are these dumplings?”
“Twenty.”
Hearing the price, Ning Chu huffed indignantly. “So expensive and still this bad!”
Seeing her frustration, Wen Yang chuckled, reassuring her, “No worries. Just consider it my treat.”
Ning Chu, without hesitation, replied, “Isn’t your money still my money?”
“Yes, yes. Do you want anything else?”
“Hmm... Maybe we should just order delivery back at the dorm? The cafeteria’s about to close anyway.”
When they arrived, there were still other students around, but by now, only their group remained.
The cleaning ladies had even closed two of the cafeteria doors, leaving just the main entrance half-open for them to exit.
Yan Xinya glanced over at the couple across from her, then turned to Lily beside her, asking, “Lily, did you add vinegar to your beef noodles?”
“No.”
“But it’s so sour~”
After a pause, Lily nodded seriously, “It does seem that way.”
