"Delivery for the fairy princess!"
"Coming, coming!"
Ning Chu excitedly got up and dashed to the door, reaching out to grab the food delivery.
The delivery girl gave her a curious look, clearly hoping to glimpse whoever had the nerve to call herself a "fairy princess." But after taking a good look, she saw that the reality didn’t match her fantasy.
While the girl receiving the food was indeed very pretty, with a sweet, youthful face, there was nothing "pure and angelic" about her. Instead, she had a seductive charm that was miles away from the imagined "fairy" vibe.
As Ning Chu sat down with her food, Lily couldn't resist chiming in, "Shameless as ever!"
"Says the fox spirit!"
"You’re one to talk, shameless enough to throw away any sense of dignity!"
"Hey, I’m a fox by nature!"
"Then why are you wearing a fur scarf?"
Ning Chu and Lily had a history of conflict. There’d once been an intense showdown in front of half the class over Wen Yang, marking one of the riskiest storylines Ning Chu had experienced.
If luck hadn’t been on her side back then, Wen Yang might’ve already been snatched up and completely devoured by this fox spirit!
After that, a few failed attempts to cooperate only soured their relationship further. Now, whenever they were in the same room, they’d exchange snarky remarks every few minutes, turning the dorm into a battleground of tension.
"Still clinging to my dorm room. It's almost seven—why don’t you go find your little boyfriend?"
"This is my dorm too, you know!"
Ning Chu sat proudly in Ling Ling’s old spot, smirking. "Ling Ling moved out, and the new advisor assigned me to this dorm~"
Come to think of it, that ghost An An was actually looking out for her.
If she’d been moved to another girls' dorm, she probably wouldn’t have visited more than once all semester.
"Must be something wrong with that advisor’s brain," Lily muttered.
Yan Xinya, not one to let a friend get badmouthed, jumped in. "An An’s really nice!"
"Ugh, so noisy..." Lily sighed, covering her ears in despair.
Normally, this dorm was peaceful, with everyone quietly minding their own business.
Lily was naturally reserved, and though Yan Xinya was full of energy, she usually burned it off running laps at the sports field, not by disrupting the dorm. Lily spent her days practicing dance, so she’d often be too tired to talk by the time she got back.
But with Ning Chu here, it was like some chemical reaction took place, filling the room with noise and laughter from afternoon all the way until now.
Yan Xinya, however, was enjoying the lively atmosphere. "Ning Chu, why don’t you stay over tonight?"
"But I don’t have a blanket..."
"We can share one!"
"I’ll pass." Ning Chu quickly shook her head. "I’ll head back around nine."
Although she’d slept in the same bed with Lily and Yan Xinya before, she instinctively turned down the wolf-girl’s enthusiastic offer.
"Alright~"
For dinner, she’d ordered some spicy hotpot from the cafeteria, a small portion that cost around fifteen yuan—just enough to leave her feeling full.
"By the way, when Lily and I go to yoga class, I won’t be able to hide my tail, will I?"
She voiced her concern while eating her spicy hotpot.
"No big deal. It’s just a small class." Yan Xinya, cheeks puffed like a hamster, responded through a mouthful of food. "Out of a few dozen people, chances are none of them will even know you."
"True."
"Oh, did you get a yoga mat? The shared ones might not be too clean."
Ning Chu nodded, then asked, "It’s not a male instructor, right?"
Stories of fitness, dance, or yoga instructors getting involved with students are common in romance novels.
She’d even written scenes like that herself: the male lead working as a gym trainer, raking in money while being pursued by female clients. Luckily, he was resilient, skillfully handling every temptress who came his way.
If Wen Yang behaved like a romance novel lead, he’d already have several rich, busty sugar mommas, living a life of luxury. Instead, here he was, still scrambling to make ends meet.
"Nope, don’t worry! Even Lily’s not worried."
"Good, then."
Lily seized the opportunity to mock, "As if you’re all that pretty, acting like every guy is interested in you."
"Just being prettier than you is enough." Ning Chu shot back, "Even with makeup, you’re nothing special. Only able to snag a high schooler? Some fox spirit."
"My legs are way longer than yours!"
Oh, please, comparing a height of 175 cm with her own 160 cm.
"My face is cuter."
"My chest is bigger."
"I stole Wen Yang from you~"
Ning Chu’s three quick jabs left Lily speechless, her face flushed with frustration as she angrily pounded her fists on the cushion.
After countless verbal sparring matches with Zhang Shaoqing, Ning Chu’s skills had sharpened significantly. Not to mention, she’d had plenty of practice fending off various "femme fatales" for Wen Yang. A fox spirit was nothing she couldn’t handle.
Ignoring Lily, Ning Chu glanced at the remaining third of her spicy hotpot. Her stomach was slightly swollen, and she instinctively thought of Wen Yang to help her finish it. But only the girls were here.
Then she noticed Yan Xinya, licking her own empty food container.
Awkwardly, she called over, "Xinya, do you want some more? If you don’t mind..."
"Not at all!"
The wolf-girl practically skipped over. "You’re done?"
"Yup."
Lily waved her hand too. "Here, I’m full."
"On it!"
Yan Xinya eagerly gathered up both containers like a little country dog happily clearing scraps, her tail wagging high.
Ning Chu had worried feeding her might come off rude, but Yan Xinya didn’t mind at all, and Lily seemed just as unbothered, probably used to this arrangement.
She couldn’t help but envy how Yan Xinya stayed slim no matter what she ate.
Sighing internally, Ning Chu reflected on how she’d gained five pounds over the New Year holiday, making her thighs and belly a bit rounder. Now, she only dared to eat until she was 70% full each day.
She spent a few more hours hanging out in the girls’ dorm, and shortly after nine, she bid them farewell and hurried back to the rented apartment despite Yan Xinya’s protests.
After a full night’s rest, her body had mostly recovered. Tonight, it was time to continue with the “sisters” storyline!
Better to wrap that up before Monday, so she wouldn’t have to put up with those two sisters getting on her nerves.
Pulling out a length of cotton rope and a black garbage bag, Ning Chu readied everything for the scene.
Just past ten, Wen Yang came home, unaware of what awaited him. As he opened the door, a dark shadow darted forward, covering his head with a thin, translucent black bag.
“What the—?”
He instinctively grabbed the wrist of his "attacker," only to hear a small whimper of protest.
“Ow~”
"Sorry, but what are you doing?"
Through the semi-transparent bag, he could make out the figure of a little succubus.
Ning Chu then pulled out the cotton rope and °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° looped it over his head, pretending to study how to secure him tightly, while playfully threatening, "Stop moving! This is a kidnapping!"
"Wait, I brought you some late-night snacks."
"Where? Tie yourself up first, and I’ll have a few bites!"
