Ning Chuchu felt as if her brain was malfunctioning. What was wrong with her? She clearly knew Wen Yang’s straightforward approach and his tendency to act like a typical factory-made male lead, but she couldn’t help but feel confused.

Wen Yang had clearly explained that he had been through a special experience.

In fact, ever since she started living in this world, everything had been different from before. The external labels didn’t match what she had expected. The internal structure of her feelings was being rearranged. It was like something within her was constantly shifting, making her act differently from the way she had before.

In all her previous relationships, the dynamic had been very different from what it was now. Wen Yang, despite his flaws, seemed to be the best option available. However, there was a clear distinction between her and other women.

For the longest time, she had been the one pursuing others, but with Wen Yang, it was the opposite—he was the one chasing her.

Yet, she found herself unable to reject him outright. She felt a strange sense of expectation. Why? Was it because she had started to care too much?

The confusion swirled inside her mind, and she couldn’t figure out what was happening. Was she really starting to fall for him?

Her heart and mind were in turmoil, unable to process everything clearly. What would happen in the future? Would she eventually have to make a decision regarding marriage? Would her life continue to be influenced by this secret?

As she pondered this, her mind kept bouncing between romantic and practical considerations. She knew Wen Yang was sincere, but her mind filled with doubts and hesitations.

Was this a secret she would carry forever, making the future even more uncertain?

Ning Chuchu had no answers. She only knew that if she continued on this path, the days ahead might become even more difficult to navigate.

She needed to consult with her family, perhaps even get her parents' approval before making any decisions. After all, she wasn’t someone who could make such a life-altering choice alone.

Wen Yang, seeing her hesitation, softened his tone, not wanting to push her. He gently placed the silver ring in her hand, waiting for her response.

Ning Chuchu’s mind was racing. She had been faced with so many unexpected moments lately, and now, standing here in front of Wen Yang, with all the mixed emotions in her heart, she couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed. She looked at the ring in her hand and remained silent for a while.

"Are you trying to make me laugh or cry?" she asked after a long pause, her expression hard to read.

After a moment of silence, Wen Yang's face turned a bit awkward. He gently asked her, "What do you think? Do you feel like laughing or crying?"

Ning Chuchu shook her head, not knowing how to respond. She was caught in the middle of complicated feelings and didn't know how to explain it. "Honestly, I don't know how to react."

Her mind was filled with conflicting thoughts. "What am I supposed to do now? I thought I had everything figured out, but now this feels more like a confusing puzzle," she thought.

Wen Yang waited patiently, trying to gauge her emotions. He finally broke the silence and said, "I wasn't trying to make you uncomfortable. I just wanted to be honest with my feelings for you."

Ning Chuchu took a deep breath and finally said, "But there's something else I need to tell you." She paused, gathering her thoughts. "The truth is... I wasn’t always a woman. I was once a man."

Wen Yang blinked in surprise, clearly taken aback, but he didn’t say anything. He let her continue, his expression unreadable.

Ning Chuchu's voice grew quieter as she added, "I underwent surgery... That’s why this is so complicated. Even though I’m fully a woman now and can have children, this isn’t something I can just forget."

Wen Yang listened carefully, taking in everything she said. He hadn’t expected this revelation, but his gaze softened as he processed it. "It doesn’t matter," he said gently. "You’re you, and that’s all that matters to me."

Ning Chuchu was stunned by his words. She hadn’t anticipated such an accepting response. For a moment, she didn’t know what to say.

Wen Yang reached out and took her hand in his, his voice calm and steady. "This doesn’t change anything for me."

Wen Yang stood up, and although he still maintained that calm and gentle demeanor, things had obviously developed beyond what he expected.

He realized that when it came to relationships, there were always two possibilities: one could either accept or reject.

Had he ever been rejected before? The last time he had been rejected was quite some time ago, and since then, he had become more cautious.

Looking at Ning Chuchu sitting there with a slightly flustered expression, he found it hard to stay composed. Her expression was that of someone faced with a difficult choice, one that might not be easily resolved.

He scratched his head, glancing over at her, and tried to muster up a smile, but it wasn’t quite as convincing as he had hoped.

Ning Chuchu’s mind was racing. It wasn’t like she hadn’t experienced such moments before, but this was different. There was a serious air around Wen Yang that made her feel both nervous and flustered at the same time.

Was this something she was ready to take on?

"Do you... still want to continue pursuing me?" she asked cautiously, her voice soft.

Wen Yang leaned closer to her, his voice equally calm but with a hint of uncertainty. "Yes. Can I still pursue you?"

Ning Chuchu wasn’t expecting such a direct response, and it took her a moment to process it. She wasn’t sure what to say, so she simply nodded slightly, unable to find the right words.

"You don’t have to answer me right away," Wen Yang added, his expression softening. "I just want to make sure you know where I stand."

He looked at her with those serious eyes of his, and Ning Chuchu couldn’t help but feel her heart stir slightly.

Could she say no to him?

Ning Chuchu felt as if her brain had short-circuited. Even though she had braced herself for this moment, she still felt embarrassed and overwhelmed. She hadn’t expected to find herself in such an awkward situation.

Ning Chuchu looked at Wen Yang, who remained calm and composed. His expression didn’t waver, and he maintained eye contact with her. Even though she tried to keep her composure, she couldn’t help but feel her face flush with heat.

"Back in school, I was still enrolled as a boy," Ning Chuchu began, her voice growing louder as she tried to explain. "But after that, I went through surgery, and then I started changing..."

Wen Yang remained focused on her as she continued, not daring to interrupt.

"My chest grew, my voice got softer... eventually, I fully transitioned into a woman, and—" She stopped, hesitating to continue.

Wen Yang gently smiled, waiting for her to finish.

"Is that so?" Wen Yang asked softly, trying to ease her tension. "So, you’ve completed the transition?"

Ning Chuchu nodded, her face still red with embarrassment. "Yes, so... I’m completely female now," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Well, that’s fine," Wen Yang replied, his tone still gentle. "I don’t see any problem with that."

Ning Chuchu stared at him in surprise, unsure how to respond. She had expected a different reaction, but his acceptance caught her off guard.

"You don’t mind?" she asked.

Wen Yang shook his head. "Why would I mind? You’re still you."

Ning Chuchu was silent for a moment, processing what he said. Then she sighed in relief, realizing that his acceptance was genuine.

"So, does this mean you’ve talked to your family about everything?" Wen Yang asked, wanting to know more about her journey.

Ning Chuchu nodded again. "Yes, they’ve accepted everything as well."

Wen Yang reached out to hold her hand, his expression softening even further. "That’s all that matters then."

As they stood there, Ning Chuchu felt a sense of calm wash over her. She knew that whatever came next, Wen Yang would be by her side.

Ning Chuchu, seeing Wen Yang's steady demeanor, felt relieved. Her identity had always been a sensitive issue for her, but now it seemed like a burden had been lifted from her shoulders. Wen Yang didn’t require any proof of her identity, nor did he need her to explain anything further. She no longer needed to take out the documents she had always carried to prove she had once been someone else.

With a calm expression, Wen Yang gently took her by the waist, steadying her as she stood up. There was no hesitation in his actions.

“I never went to the hospital for any official verification,” Ning Chuchu admitted quietly, lowering her gaze. Her voice trembled slightly, as if afraid of his reaction.

Wen Yang remained calm and smiled. “You don’t need to go through all that,” he reassured her.

A weight seemed to lift from her heart, and she felt more at ease in his presence.

"But you’ve never been to a hospital for a thorough checkup?" Wen Yang asked, his brow furrowing slightly in concern. “Maybe we should get you checked just to be sure?”

Ning Chuchu couldn’t help but laugh, feeling touched by his genuine concern. "No, I don’t think that’s necessary."

Wen Yang remained serious, though. "But what if something's wrong? I think it’s better if we go to the hospital now and have a full checkup done."

Ning Chuchu couldn’t stop laughing. "You’re really too much! I’m perfectly fine," she insisted. "There’s no need to get all worked up about this."

Wen Yang sighed, still looking concerned. "But what if you’re not okay? We should make sure everything is alright, for peace of mind."

“Isn’t it too soon for this?” Ning Chuchu exclaimed, still trying to wrap her head around the situation. “We were just talking about feelings, and now you’re already suggesting we go to the hospital?”

Wen Yang didn’t back down. “I’ll feel better if we go to the hospital. Besides, if there’s anything that needs addressing, we can take care of it immediately!”

Ning Chuchu was speechless, feeling both touched and exasperated. “Why are you so insistent? I'm not sick!” she protested, trying to dodge his suggestion. But Wen Yang remained firm, refusing to let the matter drop.

He leaned in and gently scooped her up, holding her securely in his arms. Ning Chuchu struggled against him, trying to push him away.

“No! There’s nothing wrong with me!” she exclaimed, refusing to give in to his concern.

Wen Yang kept his hold on her, his expression serious. “I just want to make sure,” he said calmly, as he carried her over to the sofa and set her down.

Ning Chuchu’s protests fell on deaf ears as he gently brushed the hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear. He looked at her closely, examining her features for any sign of discomfort.

As he did this, Wen Yang’s heart filled with a strange tenderness. He realized that what he liked most about her wasn’t just her external appearance—it was the softness and vulnerability he sensed beneath her outer shell.

Ning Chuchu’s scent, her presence, the way she responded to him—it all left a lasting impression on him. He had never felt this way about anyone before.

"I’ve never heard anyone say that liking women is a mistake!" Ning Chuchu exclaimed in frustration.

Wen Yang remained calm, his gaze unwavering as he spoke. "It’s not a mistake. I like you, and it doesn’t matter if you were once a man."

Ning Chuchu felt a rush of emotions, her eyes widening in surprise. "But... but isn’t that weird? How can you be okay with this? I used to be a man!"

Wen Yang simply shook his head. "No, it’s not weird. You’re who you are now, and that’s what I like about you."

Ning Chuchu’s heart pounded, her face flushed red as she tried to process his words. She had never imagined that someone could be so accepting of her past. She looked at him with a mixture of disbelief and gratitude.

"Are you sure you’re not joking?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

Wen Yang smiled gently. "Do I look like I’m joking?" he asked softly.

Ning Chuchu’s heart swelled with emotion, tears welling up in her eyes. She had been so afraid of rejection, but here was someone who accepted her without hesitation.

Wen Yang gently pulled her into his arms, holding her close. Ning Chuchu’s tears flowed freely as she leaned against him, feeling a sense of relief wash over her.

"I’m serious about you," Wen Yang whispered into her ear, his voice warm and soothing. "I don’t care about your past. I care about you now."

Ning Chuchu couldn’t hold back her tears any longer. She sobbed quietly into his chest, her arms wrapping tightly around him. For the first time in a long time, she felt truly understood and accepted.

Let’s stay together," Ning Chuchu said as she wrapped her arms around Wen Yang’s neck, her head resting on his shoulder. Her voice was soft, but the firmness in her tone was clear. She raised her head and looked into Wen Yang’s serious face, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

"You can only be my male lead," she said teasingly, her voice light and playful.

Wen Yang raised his eyebrows slightly, his lips curving into a smile. "Hmm, I’m happy to be your male lead," he replied with a chuckle, nodding as if to seal the deal.

Ning Chuchu's heart fluttered, her cheeks flushed with warmth, and she could feel her emotions bubbling up inside. The gentle water flowing in the background made her feel like a flower blooming under the sun, radiating warmth and light.

"Okay then," she said with a playful pout. "Don’t let me down."

Wen Yang chuckled again, pulling her closer as if he had no intention of letting her go.

As they sat together, Ning Chuchu felt the last traces of uncertainty in her heart slowly dissolve. Everything seemed to fall into place, and she was ready to embrace her future with him.
