Chapter 38: Friday
Wen Yang lay back in bed, preparing for a second nap, but the moment he closed his eyes, all he could think about was Ning Chu.
A succubus, huh?
He didn’t know much about succubi, even though there were a few on campus. Lily, the succubus he was somewhat acquainted with, was shy and spoke very little, so his knowledge on the subject was almost non-existent.
It was said that succubi had a silver mark on their lower abdomen.
It was also said that succubi grew stronger with every encounter, and most men couldn’t handle them.
Some succubi were even rumored to come equipped with... steering wheels, but Ning Chu didn’t even have a tail.
Curious, Wen Yang peeked down from his bed at Ning Chu, who sat at her desk below. Her small, delicate face looked as young and innocent as a middle schooler... Looking at her now, he couldn’t reconcile this image with the one of Ning Chu twisting her body in desire, full of longing and initiative.
If he hadn’t firmly resisted last night, she might have devoured him entirely.
Sensing his gaze, Ning Chu looked up, their eyes meeting for a brief second before her face flushed red, and she quickly lowered her head in a panic.
Ning Chu sighed heavily.
If she could avoid it, she wouldn’t have let Wen Yang know she was a succubus. But what happened yesterday needed an explanation, or else Wen Yang might overthink things. This way, she could feel a bit more at ease around him.
Plus, her physical condition was deteriorating, and if Wen Yang knew, he would probably help cover for her, preventing a situation where she might have to face three guys at once in the dorm.
Luckily, he wasn’t dumb and had figured things out with just a bit of probing.
Otherwise, she might’ve had to pull up her shirt and lower her pants to show him the silver mark on her abdomen... How shameless would that have been?
It was still early. After idly playing on the computer for a while, Ning Chu yawned and decided to climb back into bed for some extra sleep.
But as she gripped the ladder and placed a foot on the first step, she suddenly realized something.
Since when had she started trusting Wen Yang this much?
Wen Yang was the main protagonist, the very person she should be most wary of!
Yet, she had willingly exposed her biggest secret and weakness to him?
She had once been adamant about hiding it from him, fearing that he might use this information to toy with her body.
“What are you doing hanging there?”
Zhang Shaoqing had woken up and, upon opening his eyes, saw Ning Chu frozen halfway up the ladder.
“Just thinking.”
Ning Chu hurriedly climbed up, threw herself onto her bed, and buried herself in the blankets.
So many things to worry about~
Since her arrival in this world, the past two months had been nothing but constant stress.
Now, on top of her body acting up, she also had the issue with her parents... She could only hope her mother was a succubus too and had long since known about her condition.
Otherwise, turning their son into a succubus daughter was something most parents probably wouldn’t be able to accept, right?
Speaking of which, what kind of person was her father in this world...?
She had woken up too early. As she lay in bed, her mind drifted, jumping from one thought to the next, before she eventually slipped into a hazy doze.
But it wasn’t long before the dorm started to get noisy.
Zhang Shaoqing had his usual morning routine of washing his hair. Standing by Ning Chu’s bed, the whir of his hair dryer echoed through the room. Wang Jie’s keyboard and mouse clacked away, and Wen Yang was tossing and turning in his bed, shaking the entire bedframe with him.
“Why are you packing so early?”
“I don’t have a match today, so I’m heading home.” Zhang Shaoqing packed up his things and, standing in front of the mirror, styled his hair with gel. “Want to come with me? Otherwise, I’ll be bored out of my mind at home.”
“I’ll pass.”
“My mom’s really nice, you know.”
“Better not...”
Every week, Zhang Shaoqing would pester Wang Jie into going out with him. Poor Wang Jie, a homebody, would always get dragged along.
“Alright, I’m off.”
The dorm quieted down a bit after he left, but Ning Chu was already awake by then.
She glanced at the time. Though it felt like she had only slept for a second, it was already past nine.
Peeking down at Wang Jie and Wen Yang below, she blinked in surprise before asking, “Wen Yang, did you put ointment on your wound today?”
“It’s almost healed, don’t worry.”
“Still, take care of it.” Ning Chu then turned to Wang Jie. “So, you’re not going out with Zhang Shaoqing this weekend?”
“We were going to play a murder mystery game with you guys, but you said you were busy.” Wang Jie looked over at Ning Chu, whose hair was a mess, resembling a bird’s nest.
“Oh...”
Ning Chu snapped to attention.
What the heck! If you’re staying in the dorm, how am I supposed to get up to no good?
She had been counting on having the dorm to herself over the weekend to finally release all the pent-up frustration.
She had it all planned out—she’d wear Wen Yang’s clothes to soak in some of his protagonist halo and make sure no perverts or tentacle monsters spawned in the dorm. She’d confirm Wen Yang’s schedule beforehand to make sure he was busy with classes, avoiding any accidental storyline triggers.
Her brain was spinning with schemes, and she quickly found an idea. She tried to coax Wang Jie, “Hey, you don’t have a match today, right? Why not go visit your girlfriend? With the weekend, you could spend three whole days together~”
Wang Jie grumbled, “But I just saw her...”
“You don’t pay enough attention to your girlfriend!” Ning Chu righteously criticized the homebody. “If you have free time, you should spend it with her. You’re in a long-distance relationship! Aren’t you worried she might find someone else?”
Wen Yang nodded in agreement, “Yeah, I noticed you don’t call her that often. In long-distance relationships, it’s important to stay close.”
“That... makes sense.” Wang Jie muttered, hesitating as he stood up, though his eyes still lingered on his computer screen.
This guy was hopeless.
How he managed to get a girlfriend in the first place was beyond her!
Ning Chu rolled her eyes, then noticed Wen Yang handing her breakfast.
“I’ll eat it in a bit, just leave it on the table.”
“Okay.”
Then there was Zhang Shaoqing...
He had gone home early, but for sure, he’d be back in the dorm for the weekend.
Ning Chu pressed her lips together, only to see Wen Yang’s gaze drift down to her abdomen.
Her skin was thin to begin with, and her face quickly flushed a deep red. Glaring at him in embarrassment, she snapped, “What are you staring at?!”
“...” Wen Yang quietly shifted his gaze away. “By the way, the advisor asked me to help out on the field this afternoon.”
“Help out?”
“Yeah, it’s the last day of the sports event. They need help taking down the tents and moving the tables and chairs back.”

“No way!”
Ning Chu refused without hesitation. Wen Yang was not leaving the dorm today!
If he stayed in the dorm, there’d be no bad women trying to seduce him, and he wouldn’t trigger any more storylines that would send her spiraling into desire again.
Wen Yang looked confused. “If someone tries to flirt with me, I’ll just do what I did during lunch yesterday...”
“Absolutely not!”
If you keep messing with the plot, my brain’s going to fry!
“I’m part of the student committee...” Wen Yang trailed off when he saw her glaring at him angrily, puffing out her cheeks. Helpless, he nodded, “Alright, I’ll tell them my foot’s still not healed.”
“Now that’s more like it!”
Ning Chu shivered slightly under Wen Yang’s indulgent smile.
Even though she had no real reason to oppose it, why couldn’t she ever make Wen Yang dislike her?
