Chapter 50: "I’ll marry my hyung!!"

The awkward situation in the living room of the Jang family was now somewhere resolved.

Because no one addressed the topic anymore.

The family members just skipped the entire commotion and began asking Doha several things that background checks couldn’t provide answers to.

"So, you’ve always been bright at studying?" The aunt asked. She somehow produced a pen and paper and pushed them in front of Doha.

"Here, solve this."

And so Doha did. Though he was quite confused how it helped to prove he was a good boyfriend to Song-rik.

"Marvelous." The aunt declared as she looked at the answer with a slight blush. Again she adjusted her phantom non present glasses.

She seemed to be approving of Doha now. And Taejun just followed his wife’s will.

That wife-complex ridden man...

Doha thought as he saw live how Taejun was fawning over his wife. He had read about that in the novel but it sure strangely comforting to look at in real life.

"Ahem!" The grandfather coughed again, to draw attention to himself.

"So far, we’ve found you to be quite the reasonable and good young man, boy," he pointed out. "But B.. Song-rik is a beloved child of this family.

We can’t just hand him over to someone who has no substantial support system.

Yes, we can help you but that’s the case for any other person on the street.

Boy, I can see you care for that child a lot.

To be honest, we were just going to scare you off at first. (Excuse me!)

But seeing you and your attitude towards this, I’m not stupid enough to not notice your sincerity. (Phew!)

But sincerity and a lifetime are two different things.

Until you show me some growth in your financial situation, I can’t allow any serious relationship between you two.

Sure you can date, but any further than that would be rejected by this family."

Doha stared at the grandfather for a bit. Then he stood up from the stool and kneeled in front of them on the floor.

The entire Jang family was bewildered at the sudden gesture.

"I... I know I’m lacking in a lot of ways, sir," Doha said. "Your reasoning for not accepting me is very valid. But..."

Doha looked up. His eyes were very determined that it kind of scared the people in front of him.

"I’ll prove myself to you! I promise!! And I will marry my hyung and start a family with him!!!"

"..."

"..."

[Game Over!!]

Suddenly the gaming console blared the message aloud as Song-rik turned around, beat red, to see what was happening.

Doha didn’t mean to say it that loud. But in all nervousness, he did say it out loud. Quite loud.

The entire famil including Song-rik and Woobin were now staring at him after his declaration of marriage.

Kill me now. Make it quick, please.

Doha thought as the embarrassment and mortification of the situation suddenly dawned upon him.

"That’s... um... quite passionate... haha...ha... ha." The mother tried to help ease the awkward silence but everyone including her believed that just made it worse.

"Ahem!" The grandfather coughed. "That’s decided then. Song-rikah, show the boy around the estate before lunch gets ready."

"Yeah," Taejun chimed in. "Surely you kids would be bored sitting here with us old people."

"Yeah."

"Go on."

The entire older generation of the family seemed desperate to get out of that situation. Same was the case for Song-rik who immediately dragged Doha away to the gardens while being red from head to toe.

And Doha... he was too embarrassed to even look at Song-rik’s face. But he looked too cute to not look at him.

As they walked on the stone pathway through the overgrown garden resembling a forest, Doha stared at Song-rik’s black hair bobbing as he walked.

Doha paused, pulling Song-rik a little back.

"Hyung. Are there guards here too?" He asked coyly.

"Huh? No. They’re outside the estate surrounding it," Song-rik explained as he looked up at the sky. It was becoming cloudy.

"Then are we alone now?" Doha held Song-rik hand back from which he was dragging Doha along.

"Yeah..." Song-rik became flushed as he realised what Doha meant. A faint chocolate scent mixed with the forest smell of the garden as roses bloomed in the waves of air.

Doha slightly leaned closer.

"Can I... just hug you... for a little bit?" He asked with the most lust dripping face Song-rik had ever seen.

"You don’t start a family just by hugging, you know," Song-rik thought he would take his rare god given chance to tease Doha.

"Hyung, you’re making it hard to wait for 26th August."

Doha’s hand slipped onto Song-rik’s waist as he bent in further and nuzzled into Song-rik’s neck.

"And your folks are scary."

"Pfft! Is that so? Were you very scared?" Song-rik asked as he patted Doha’s head on the back.

"What do you care? You just played some stupid game with that kid! We haven’t even played together once yet!"

"Are you jealous?"

"Why would you think I won’t be?"

"Ah... oh... you will be, I guess."

Song-rik stiffened as Doha answered him honestly instead of shying away.

It’s impressive how honest he always is about what he wants.

"So... how should I make it up for you?" Song-rik asked smiling.

Doha turned his face towards Song-rik and looked up at his face from his shoulder. Then he wriggled his head near his ear and whispered.

"Maybe a hundred kisses would do?"

"..."

"..."

"Isn’t that... like a lot?"

"I’m not compromising. It’s my right."

"Still a hundred is...ah!"

Doha pecked on Song-rik’s neck as rubbed his nose near his jaw.

"Now it’s 99. Happy?"

Song-rik looked up and his neck suddenly reddened. He muttered something that Doha couldn’t hear.

"What did you say, hyung?"

"A room. We should go to my room for the 99 left."

Song-rik was getting redder and redder as moments passed after that.

"Are you sure you want to be with me in a room right now?" Doha asked as his eyes fixated on Song-rik’s lips.

Song-rik glanced towards him. It was for just a moment but he could see the twitching smile.

"Yeah. I want to be with you."
