Chapter 16: A Necessary Cohabitation
Ryujin had now trapped Secretary Cha in his room for three days and it couldn’t go on like this.
With each passing hour, he was growing more and more wary of Ryujin.
This can’t go on.
Ryujin figured.
"Do you want to talk, Jihwan?" Ryujin offered after a five minute session of staring into the poor guy’s soul.
"Talk about what?" Jihwan asked.
Jihwan looked up at Ryujin and the blinding shine on his face poked Ryujin’s eyes. Staying just in bed, eating, sleeping and getting the best care in the world had transformed the half dead overworked secretary into an odol trainee.
Jihwan wasn’t exactly unaware of this drastic change as he saw himself plumper each time he washed in the bathroom.
Though it only served as anxiety fuel as he was under the impression that Ryujin was keeping him there as food.
You know average vampire activities.
And also the bouts of worklessness were catching Jihwan off guard.
What are these exactly?
Well, Cha Jihwan was twenty four years old at the present and had joined the Millenium Corporation at twenty one years of age.
Basically he had spent all his working adult life, working as a dog.
A secretary’s day starts at five in the morning and ends whenever the boss allows it.
So sleep and rest was something he wasn’t offered from the very first experience of working. And because this was all he knew, he thought it was normal.
Sleeping four hours a day was normal for the induced workaholic Cha Jihwan.
And now, he was anxious. Not because he had to work but because he had no work.
He was more like a vampire than Oh Ryujin that way.
Oh Ryujin took his beauty sleep seriously and always slept in.
"About you," Ryujin said looking away. "About what I am supposed to do with you, Secretary Cha."
Jihwan flinched.
"What are you going to do with me, President?"
"I’ll be frank. You have found out something you were not supposed to know. You shouldn’t have gotten involved in the matters of vampires. And I can’t exactly let go you so freely since who knows what you’ll try."
"... "
"... "
"Wow. So you really are a vampire."
"Did you not know?"
"I was suspicious but I didn’t know for sure."
"Did I just confirm it?"
"Yes."
"... "
"... "
"That was quite stupid of me."
"Yes. It was."
Ryujin looked outside the window for a while and then directly at Jihwan.
"I don’t kill people, Cha Jihwan. So I can’t exactly kill you to keep you silent."
I do kill people but not you. That’s a bit heartbreaking, even for me.
"So, what will you with me then?" Jihwan looked at Ryujin warily.
"I’ll make it so that you can’t tell anyone about me."
"Huh?... "
Ryujin pushed Jihwan down on the bed and sunk his teeth into his neck.
"Argh!!! "
Jihwan let out a painful scream as he yanked and pulled at Oh Ryujin. But the vampire didn’t budge.
Ryujin bit his lips in the little interval he let go of the secretary’s neck and then proceeded to keep biting Jihwan.
"Hngh! Arhg! St... Stop!"
Jihwan wailed and pleaded as the teeth sunk deeper and deeper into his neck.
As his efforts had no effect, he eventually stopped struggling. Tears rolled down his green eyes as his mouth turned into a twisted expression of despair.
Is this how I die?
Like this?
As food to some vampire bastard!?
...
...
Suddenly, Oh Ryujin stood back with his bloody face. A streak of blood flowed down from the corner of his mouth.
Jihwan panted and huffed as blood kept oozing out of his wounds.
His pheromones of aggravation had started flowing out. It felt as if a rainstorm was approaching.
He looked at Ryujin with so much hatred that for a bit, Ryujin felt his heart tremble.
"Now, listen to me carefully," Ryujin wiped the blood off his mouth with a handkerchief.
"I’ve mixed my blood in your veins. So in about a month, you too will become a vampire. And because I made you one, you can’t defy me. It’s like a slave contract."
Ryujin put a clean clothes with pressure on Jihwan’s neck. He quickly texted something on his phone.
Looking back Jihwan, Ryujin took in a long sigh.
"I hope you won’t give me reasons to use this power I have over you. I’ll let you go as soon as your wound recovers."
Jihwan felt pangs of pain coursing through his veins and reaching every corner and inch of his body.
Something was changing and very violently at that.
Jihwan pushed Ryujin and decided to make a run for it.
It’s better than whatever all this is!!
"Stop," Ryujin said with a voice so disturbing that it pierced through Jihwan.
Cha Jihwan abruptly stopped at his spot. Against his will, his body was following the vampire’s words.
"I think I told you not to make me use this."
Jihwan trembled with some unknown fear. Ryujin slowly approached him.
Jihwan could hear every single step he took and how he was getting closer and closer to him.
*plip
*plop
Large drops of tears rolled down his eyes as Ryujin reached him. Ryujin made a tense face watching Jihwan cry.
"I said I won’t kill you."
Ryujin wiped Jihwan’s eyes with his hands.
The sudden warmth and care was too much for Jihwan who was anxious and mentally troubled for whole three days.
*hic
*waaa
*hic
He started weeping as Ryujin kept wiping his tears off.
"It hurts! It hurts so much! You jerk!!!"
Jihwan yelled at Ryujin.
Somehow, from the vampire’s pheromones, Jihwan could tell this person won’t harm him.
But that didn’t mean any of it wasn’t scary and non consensual.
"Why would you turn me into... hic... a vampire?!"
"Why would you keep me locked here?!"
"You should’ve just killed me, you bastard!!"
Maybe frustration, maybe anger, Jihwan cried and screamed out his heart at Ryujin.
"I can’t do that to you, Jihwan."
Ryujin picked him up and took him back to the bed.
"... "
Jihwan didn’t say anything but looked at Ryujin in disbelief.
"I’m serious. Never in my right mind would I hurt you."
"You aren’t exactly convincing."
Jihwan pointed to his neck.
"That’s exactly because I can’t harm you. So that you’ll become like me and won’t tell anyone about vampires."
"Why exactly can’t you harm me?"
"Because I like you."
"... "
"... "
"... "
"Pretend you didn’t hear that."
"I can’t. I actually heard that clearly."
"Ha! Fuck! Why do I keep spewing shit in front of you!!"
Ryujin strode across the room to the door. He paused near the door to look at Jihwan. Then he sprinted out.
His ears were burning red.
No way! Was he serious?!
Jihwan had a hard time believing that. There was no way the owner of Stardew Pharmaceuticals was in love with him.
He was just his best friend’s secretary!
They had little to no interaction.
So how?
How was he acting like he had known even the deepest thoughts of Jihwan?
