Chapter 246: Chapter Two Hundred And Forty Five
Damon let out a slow, quiet sigh. He accepted his boundaries.
Instead of kissing her, Damon decided to simply protect her. He raised his right arm and wrapped it around her. He pulled her gently against his side. His large, broad body covered her small, delicate body, shielding her from the cold room and the dark night.
He rested his chin lightly on the very top of her hair. He closed his eyes, enjoying the soft, sweet smell of her skin and the comforting weight of her arms around his waist.
Holding her securely in his embrace, Damon finally went back to sleep.
Hours passed in absolute silence. The dark night slowly surrendered to the new day.
The early morning sun began to rise above the capital city. Bright, warm golden light seeped softly through the large glass windows of the master bedroom. Outside in the gardens, the birds woke up and started chirping happily, filling the air with sweet, cheerful songs.
Someone had left the small window latch open slightly the day before. A very cool, refreshing morning breeze blew gently into the room, sweeping over the sleeping couple on the large bed.
Camilla was in the middle of a very deep, comfortable sleep.
She felt warm and safe. She did not want to wake up.
Slowly, the bright sunlight hitting her eyelids told her mind that it was morning. Camilla let out a small, soft, sleepy groan. She tried to stir. She wanted to stretch her arms and legs wide across the mattress like she usually did.
But as she tried to move, she realized she was locked in.
She could not stretch her arms. She could not move her legs. She was surrounded by a heavy, warm weight.
Still mostly asleep, Camilla did not open her eyes. She simply smiled a soft, lazy smile in her sleep. She thought she was just buried under a massive pile of comfortable pillows and thick blankets.
Her right hand was pressed flat against a very hard, solid wall.
"This is a very hard pillow," Camilla thought sleepily in her mind. Her brain was still foggy and confused.
She pressed her palm against the hard wall. It was warm. She could feel a steady, rhythmic thumping sound coming from deep inside the wall. It was Damon’s heart beating inside his broad chest. But Camilla’s sleepy brain did not process the reality.
She slowly slid her hand downward, seeking a softer spot to rest her arm.
Her fingers moved slowly down the flat, hard wall of his chest. She trailed her hand over the firm ridges of his stomach muscles, feeling the smooth fabric of his sleeping shirt.
She moved her hand further down.
Suddenly, her hand found another hard substance.
Camilla paused in her sleep. Her fingers explored the new object.
"This one is different," Camilla observed lazily in her foggy mind.
It was absolutely not flat like the first wall she had touched. It had a very unique, distinct, cylindrical shape. And strangely, it felt hot, radiating an intense heat right through the dark grey cotton fabric of his sleeping trousers.
Even more confusing to her sleepy brain, the object felt alive. It was actually breathing. Or rather, it was throbbing. As her hand rested against it, she could feel it growing firmer and pulsing with a distinct, rhythmic heartbeat of its own.
Seeking comfort and completely unaware of what she was doing, Camilla slowly wrapped her fingers around the hard, hot shape. She held it firmly in her hand, treating it like a very strange, warm stuffed toy.
Above her, Damon was already awake.
He had woken up a few minutes ago when the sun first hit the windows. He had stayed still, enjoying the feeling of holding her in his arms. He was waiting for her to wake up naturally.
But when her thoughts called his chest ’a hard pillow’ and her hand started moving down his stomach, Damon’s breathing paused for a second.
His eyes shot wide open. He stared straight up at the ceiling in shock.
He felt her fingers trailing down his skin. He prayed silently that she would stop and move her hand away. But she did not stop. She kept moving lower.
When her hand finally found him and wrapped around his morning arousal, Damon’s entire brain short-circuited entirely.
An explosive, uncontrollable rush of intense heat flooded his entire body. His blood boiled in his veins. Every single muscle in his large body went rigidly stiff.
He clenched his jaw so tightly his teeth ground together. He gripped the white silk sheets with his left hand, crushing the fabric in his fist. He was a healthy, fully grown man, and the direct, firm touch of his wife’s hand on his most sensitive area was pushing his physical control to its breaking limit.
He needed her to stop immediately, or he was going to lose his mind completely.
Damon tried to speak. He tried to tell her to wake up. But his throat was suddenly dry, and his chest was heaving with rapid, shallow breaths.
He forced a voice out of his mouth. He tried to sound commanding and controlled, but it completely failed.
"My lady," Damon said.
His voice did not sound like the authoritative voice he uses. It did not even sound deep or cold.
His voice came out as a strained, breathless, desperate whimper. It was a sound full of agony and intense desire.
The strange, strained sound of a man whimpering right next to her ear finally pierced through Camilla’ssleep.
Her brain clicked. The sleepy fog instantly vanished.
Camilla’s eyes snapped wide open.
The very first thing she saw was not her white pillows. She saw a broad expanse of dark grey cotton fabric right in front of her nose. It was Damon’s sleeping shirt. She realized she was not hugging a blanket. She was hugging her husband.
She quickly tilted her head backward. She looked up.
She saw Damon’s face. He was staring at the ceiling. His face was flushed a dark, burning shade of bright red. The veins on his thick neck were standing out clearly. He looked like a man who was being tortured.
Camilla blinked rapidly. She was confused. Why was he so red? Why was he breathing so heavily?
Then, her brain finally processed the physical information coming from her right hand.
She realized what she was holding. She felt the hard, throbbing, unique shape trapped firmly inside her tight grip. She felt the intense, burning heat radiating through his cotton trousers.
The realization hit her like a bolt of lightning.
Horror exploded in Camilla’s brain.
Her eyes widened. All the color drained instantly from her face, turning her pale white.
"Oh my god," Camilla screamed inside her own mind. Her internal voice was a frantic, terrified shriek. "What am I holding?! What did I just do?!"
