Alayna spent most of her time typing everything she could think of before leaving to prepare for this special dinner.
The kids were very excited so they were ready when she arrived. She wasn’t going to make anything complicated, so she decided on something simple and yet delicious.
Her employees were currently eight at the moment and with the three of them, that made them a total of eleven people. She took out three chickens from the sink where she had left them to defrost earlier.
Merita was in charge of cooking the rice using the rice cooker, she was a quick learner so Alayna taught the little girl how to make some simple dishes including rice.
Neal on the other side was busy washing the onions, tomatoes, and carrots she was going to cook.
She mixed up several spices and added some oil to them, she brushed the mixture on the chickens and placed them on the trays. She put the chickens in the oven and adjusted the heat, she was going to roast them and make sure that they are gold and crispy.
After that, she took some onions and began to chop them. Neal looked at Alayna and his hands were itching.
"Mommy, can I also cut some?" Neal shyly asked as he played with his fingers.
Alayna chuckled after hearing this, she wasn’t against this at all so she agreed quickly, "sure, but you can cut some carrots first and with time I will teach you how to cut the onions without tearing up."
Neal was very excited when he received the green light and following Alayna, he also started to cut the carrots. Merita took over the tomatoes and the house were filled with the sound of the knives hitting the cutting board.
While the family of three was cooking, the employees were currently in a complicated mood. Going to their boss’s house was going to be their first.
Apart from Elena, no one else knows what Alayna’s house looks like. They didn’t even know the real reason why they were going there but since they have been invited, it didn’t hurt to go and see where she lives, after all her house has always been a mystery.
Sonya was so excited, as someone who wasn’t a cultivator and couldn’t even afford the cheapest item being sold in the shop. Being invited to her boss’s house was a great honor.

She wasn’t good at many things but sewing and embroidery were her specialties. She had been raising her family through that and made every clothing that her children wore.
So, seeing her child wearing such exquisite clothes sewn by her hand she was struck with pride. Sonya always listens to her mother, so she went along with the skirt her mother picked and wore it.
The same issue was happening to the other families. The staff took their time to find beautiful clothes to wear, they didn’t want to look shabby in their boss’s house.
Around five there, the food was almost done and the family of three went to wash up and changed their clothes.
When she was done, Alayna looked at her children and said, "I will be picking them up at the fork ahead. They must be scared to come by themselves."

She didn’t drive the car but walked speedily towards the fork and when she arrived, around five of them were already waiting there and the way they were looking at the road she was walking on, made her know instantly what was going on in their heads.
"You don’t have to be afraid. As long as you are my employee nothing will happen to you but of course, that only applies to those that remain true to me," she playfully spilled some beans to them.

Seeing that the atmosphere was getting a bit tense, Alayna changed the topic and everyone calmed down. As they talked and laughed more, two more arrived and they were complete.
"Don’t worry about Elena, she knows the way home," Alayna informed them as she led them through the forbidden road.
Sonya and the rest of the group finally calmed down completely after seeing that nothing was happening to them. They began to have some courage and ask as many questions as they can.
Alayna was very patient with them and answered them.
While Alayna was leading the group to her house, Elena was staring at the two small kids standing outside Alayna’s house.

Just as she was busy having a staring competition with the kids, Alayna and the rest of the staff arrived. And this is exactly what they all witnessed, Elena fighting with the kids.

Alayna ushered them to the dining room and the kids joined their mother in the kitchen. As Elena used to stay here, she also joined in the kitchen. She was very familiar with the house and even the kids were taken aback by this, they even felt very threatened.
Elena seeing these small actions, wanted to laugh but since they were kids, she decided to let them go.
The food was taken to the dining room and seeing the food, they all couldn’t help but swallow their saliva. After all the food was served, Alayna, Elena, and the kids joined the others.
As they couldn’t do anything before Alayna makes a move, they all stared at the food and didn’t make a move.

Elena was the first one to be shocked by this news, she never expected that Alayna would adopt kids after she moved out. How did this even happen?
