"We mustn’t stop no matter what, we will be dead if we do that!" the young boy cried as he looked at his older sister who was panting as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"Do you think that I want this? My feet hurt and I can’t move at all!" the older girl cried as she looked with an aggrieved expression at her little brother.
The young boy looked at his sister’s feet and his heart ached so much. He was a bit stronger than her and if he helps her then their chance of running away will be greatly increased.
If he waits for his sister then those people may catch them and what will happen to them is something that he didn’t want to think about. The greatest method of surviving this ordeal however was to ditch his sister and run away by himself.
But he couldn’t do that, he has already lost everyone he saw as family and abandoned the only one person who was there by his side from day one, he wasn’t that kind of person.
Looking at his pitiful sister, the young man gritted his teeth and crouched down, "get on, we don’t want to waste any time!"
The older sister looked at her brother, she couldn’t help but sniffle as she held her cries. She didn’t want to be a burden to her brother, she also didn’t want to die. If her brother were to leave now, the chances of his survival were great.
At least she will just end her own life before allowing those jackals to have her, "you can just leave me here and go!"
The young man angrily looked back and glared at his sister with a furious gaze, "what do you take me for? Get on and stop spouting b****!"
This was the first time that her brother had raised his voice at her and the feeling wasn’t so great. She held back her tears and didn’t scold him back. She had done and said something wrong so she didn’t have any right to do that.
She got on his back and the little brother began to run at a steady pace while carrying her.
At the place where the siblings were having their troublesome conversation, a group of rough men appeared carrying all sorts of weapons and their scary faces were enough to scream bandits.
"Find those two rascals! There is no way I am going to let all the gold slip through my fingers!" a scar-faced man yelled as he looked around trying to determine which direction those two troublesome kids had run to.
"Don’t worry big boss, we will catch them and once we do, hehe, you can play with the girl to your heart’s content first and when you are satisfied you can also have the boy too. Of course, we don’t mind playing with them when you are done."
"Yes, yes, after all, they made us go through, killing them and bringing their heads to the client won’t suffice and wash away the trouble!"
The group of bandits agreed with each other greatly. They have been chasing these troublesome kids for a few days now. Everything started one week ago when a client gave them a mission.
The mission was very simple, they were supposed to intercept a carriage headed for Ioneka city, a city so far away from Ciliren and Draak that it will be impossible for these people to find themselves anywhere near there.
They were supposed to make it look like a robbery gone wrong, kill the kids and bring the heads to the client for proof. Everything that they will find will belong to them.
Everything was going according to plan; they even had some inside person and this made their work a bit easier. But everything went wrong from the very second the entourage stopped by a certain inn to rest for the night.
By the time everyone realized that something was wrong, the kids were gone. In a fit of rage, the bandits killed everyone they saw on that day, so a trail of bodies was left behind.

Using a tracking beast, they began to track the kids and it had taken them days just chasing after them. They even cussed the client as the information they received was obviously wrong. Why did the client assume that the kids were wastes?
Those kids had been practically flying and moving at a fast rate and this was not possible for people who were wastes.
They didn’t want to fail a mission again as a lot of money was riding on this one. They just couldn’t stand it at all, so having some fun first before killing them was the only way they will get compensated.
"They went this way, chase!"
And another chase began once more.
The siblings weren’t able to run away that far because they were dragging each other in their own way.
After running for over an hour, the young boy was tired but he could hear those bandits giving chase and he didn’t want to be caught. He was a man and if something happens, he can get out clean but his sister was different.
He wasn’t a fool to not know what may happen if she were to get caught. If worse comes to worst, it was better to just end both of their lives and join their parents who went before them.
With that mind in his head, the young man changed his direction and his target was that dense part of the forest. It’s not that he knew about the place but his intuition told him and the clear sound of water running could be heard.
The sister at this point was coming in and out of a coma so she had no idea what her brother was up to.
The bandits were catching up to them and he was running out of time. After running for a very long time, the young man finally was standing on a dangerous point of the mountain.
Of all places to go, he found himself standing on a cliff, and down there he could see the river flowing. If he were to fall the chances of survival were minimum and also there was another chance of surviving if they were lucky.
Being hit by the cold air, the sister finally opened her eyes, and what she saw shocked her greatly.
"What…what is going on? Why are we here?" she asked nervously as she looked around.
The young man sighed and slowly let his sister slide from his back so that she was standing on her two feet.
"I am a very sorry sister, I am afraid that today is the last day that we have," he was no longer crying and was very calm at this stage.
The sister didn’t need her brother to repeat what he had just said because at that very moment she heard those hoarse voices she has come to hate so much.
[There they are!]
[I am going to skin those little b*** alive!]
The men were swearing and she was trembling with fear.
"This…. Are we really going to just ….is it really the end?" she couldn’t help but ask in a defeated tone.
The brother didn’t want to die, he didn’t want to see his sister being killed, raped, or abused in any way. He has that idea and it was very dangerous. He didn’t know whether his sister will agree with him or pick another way.
"No, this isn’t the end. I have one last idea and the chance is 50/50. Do you want to give it a try?" the young man nervously asked as he looked at his sister whose blood had been completely drained away because of the current situation.
What she needed was some hope, it didn’t matter if it was tiny as long as there was a chance of making it out alive. And even if they fail, it was much better than getting caught by these approaching men.
"Tell me about it and make it quick!" she urged him as she looked at the bandits emerging from the forest.
[Let’s see where you are going to run to!]
[Just surrender and be good kids and return with us!]
[I promise that your death will be very quick and not painful at all.]

Just listening to all of the bandits, the siblings were even furious and hated the people who sent them to death.
"Are you sure about this?" the young brother asked seriously as he looked at his sister.
"Umm, I am. If we die then that’s our bad luck. I will haunt them like a ghost and make their lives so unbearable that they will regret ever being born but if we were to survive, I will make sure that we become strong first. It is never too late for a gentleman to get his revenge!" her eyes were ice-cold as she said this.
The brother was shocked when he saw this side of his sister, she had never been this ferocious before and this side of hers made her very excited that he was looking forward to seeing how she will deal with their enemies if they survive.
"Then hold my hand, we will be doing this together!" the young boy declared as he stretched his hand.
She took it without hesitation and looked at him with a reassuring smile. The young boy then looked at the approaching mob with a mocking smile on his face, "come and get us if you can!"
After the young boy called at the bandits, the bandits stood frozen as they witnessed crazy people doing something so crazy that they were shocked so much and by the time they finally digested what had happened, the young kids were already gone.
The boss who finally woke up from the stupor cussed as he stood at the cliff while looking down below, "get down immediately, we will be searching for their bodies. There is no way that they will survive!"
"And if we don’t find them, boss?"
The boss smiled creepily after hearing that question, "Is this the first time that we have done business? Find some replacement of course!"
