Chapter 276: dinner might be served late

Hot, mouthwatering seafood dishes were spread across the table. Zane looked at the piping-hot meal, and his mouth watered. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

“Sir, it was caught this morning. All the ingredients were fresh,” the chef explained to Zane from the side as he walked to his seat.

"Oh, I came on time!" Viktor’s voice rang out from the doorway before he stepped in.

He could smell the aroma from outside, and his steps quickened.

Zane nodded in greeting as he pried open the crab and dipped the flesh into the sauce.

“Mm!” he hummed in delight as he took his first bite.

Viktor didn’t talk much. He quickly washed his hands and joined in. Both devoured their food without a word, except for satisfied hums leaving their lips.

Suddenly, Zane’s bracelet rang, causing him to pause slightly as he poured more gravy onto the shrimp.

“Who is it?” he asked aloud, his tone displeased. But when he opened the bracelet with his clean hand, he paused and glanced at the hot sun shining through the window in doubt.

‘Cyra...? Isn’t she supposed to be asleep now?’ Though these thoughts flickered through his mind, he answered her call.

“Love, get ready—we’re going somewhere tonight.” Her hoarse voice carried through the room, and Viktor’s chewing slowed, his ears pricking up in attention.

“I thought it was tomorrow. Should I dress comfortably or formally?” Zane asked, taking another bite of shrimp.

“Hmm... dress slightly formal,” Cyra replied after a brief pause—she’d already checked that the place she’d reserved was upscale, and she didn’t want him to feel out of place.

“Don’t worry, I’ll handle the outfit. Just be ready by four so we can leave,” she added, already browsing a platform for custom-made clothes, scanning through the reviews.

Noticing that the platform used high-quality, breathable materials—and promised completion within 3 hours of an order —she entered Zane’s measurements. Just as she was about to choose a fabric, she realized she hadn’t hung up.

“Are you having lunch? I can hear you slurping and chewing from here.”

Zane’s mouth was too full to respond, so he could only hum.

"Alright, see you in four hours." She hung up the call, unaware that Viktor was listening in with his lips slightly pursed, and he nearly lost his appetite.

"Are you and Cyra going out on a date?" Viktor asked in a neutral tone, trying to mask the jealousy growing in his heart.

"Date? She’s taking me somewhere today," Zane said, the word ’Date’ in an unfamiliar tone; he didn’t understand what it meant.

"Huh? Don’t tell me you..." Viktor was too speechless to continue when his gaze fell on Zane’s confused expression.

“Even your soul beast is more up-to-date than you. After we eat, we’ll dress you properly for your date... And watch more melodramatic movies—you might actually learn something,” Viktor said sincerely, convinced it was his duty to educate the hopelessly clueless Zane.

Zane could only nod dazedly before returning to his meal.

From Viktor’s words, he gathered it meant going out to spend time alone with Cyra.

They quickly finished their food, and Viktor took Zane to the spa, using the aircraft parked in the new hangar.

....

Four hours later, Cyra stepped out of her room in a black slit gown. The slit at her knee revealed her toned legs, while her red hair cascaded loosely down her back, her face lightly touched with makeup.

Her heels clicked on the ground as she moved toward the entrance to wait for Zane, but when her eyes locked onto his figure, she nearly changed her mind, wishing she could ravish him instead.

Zane’s top was slightly parted down the middle, the collar fastened by a silver chain that draped loosely across his chest.

His hair was tied into a low, short ponytail, with some silver strands falling loosely against his chin.

Zane felt her scorching gaze on him, and he knew if he didn’t quickly distract her, they might not leave this house.

Seeing how the gown hugged her figure like a second skin, with gleams of her toned legs peeking out from the slits, he was tempted to undress her and forget about the whole date, but curiosity about what she had planned for today won out.

“Wife, you look stunning,” Zane praised sincerely as he approached, his words snapping her out of her daze. She whistled in appreciation, causing Zane to almost stumble in embarrassment.

“If not for what I’ve planned today, you wouldn’t be able to leave this house... my love, you’re mesmerizing in that outfit,” Cyra murmured in a sultry tone, her fingertips trailing along his chest as she tugged lightly on the chain, drawing him closer before claiming his lips in a soft kiss.

She stepped back and wiped the lipstick stains from the corner of his mouth. “Let’s go, or we’ll be late.”

Zane nodded dazedly, letting her pull him forward as they left the mansion and headed to the waiting aircraft.

Inside, Cyra set the route to Ocean Town and increased the speed to get there in 30 minutes.

She left the control room to find Zane, only to see him on a video call with Viktor.

“How was it? Was she dazzled and dumbstruck by your looks after my meticulous makeover?” Viktor asked proudly, already expecting that result as he helped Zane get ready.

“Hmm. Thank you... We almost didn’t leave the house.” Zane muttered that last part in a hushed whisper, sending an arrow straight through Viktor’s heart.

“Tsk, I don’t need that much detail, have fun, but remember I get the next date, bye!” Viktor quickly hung up before he caused any more damage to his fragile heart.

‘Huh? So it’s him,’ she thought, planning to reward him later.

She walked in, and Zane looked up. “Can you tell me where we’re going now?” Zane was curious because they were dressed too finely for a normal outing.

“No rush, you will know when we get there,” Cyra said lazily as she sat on the couch close to him, pulled out some snacks from her space, and handed them over.

“Have something to tide you over—dinner might be served late.”

Zane quickly took the chips and cookies from her and opened them before she could change her mind and complain about the sugar.

Cyra snorted at his reaction. He looked as though she’d been depriving him of snacks for years.

She averted her gaze and turned on her hologram screen to check Kyle’s progress on the acquisition.

She hadn’t received any message from him yet and thought he was too busy. So, she switched to the news on the Nexus, scrolling through it to pass the time.

Thirty minutes passed quickly, and they arrived at the hangar near Ocean Town, which was filled with countless aircraft and hover cars.

The town was built on the water, and yachts and small boats were departing from the hangar to travel into the town.

They stepped off the aircraft and boarded a yacht to cross the water to the town ahead.

The driver said politely as they entered, “It’s ten gold coins per person.”

She didn’t start and waited for more customers when Cyra spoke.

“I’ll reserve the entire yacht and take us to the Deep restaurant.”

The woman’s eyes brightened, and her smile became more genuine.

“Okay, madam, sit tight." With that, she started the engine and headed toward Ocean Town.
