Chapter 673: Pei Village
The forest was barely ten acres large.
At a glance, the villagers had already hunted most of the demonic beasts and those that remained were either too young or too strong.
In the same vein, most of the spiritual grasses had already been collected and those that remained were either immature or located in dangerous places.
However, for immortal king realm cultivators, there were no dangerous places in the Pei village forest and the two searched it without encountering any problems.
"Nothing." Jiang Yue said with a frustrated expression.
"Hmmm." Yu Nianzhen hummed in agreement.
"That leaves the river." He said.
With that, the two left the forest and went to the river.
The Pei river was not large and the other bank was only four metres away.
Because of this, Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue could easily search both banks while walking along the river .
An incense stick later, Yu Nianzhen narrowed his eyes and pointed.
"It’s there." He said and Jiang Yue turned to look
A moment later, the two walked over and stood at the edge ofba hidden formation.
Like the one in the Sixi Mountain range,this hidden formation was an obscure kind that was difficult for ordinary people to spot.
"I will open a gap first." Jiang Yue said and Yu Nianzhen nodded.
Drawing from previous experience, Jiang Yue modified the formation and the two entered in less than half an hour.
There was no cave or shelter within the formation.
However, there was an incomplete formation and a teleportation stone.
Seeing the formation, Jiang Yue frowned and began studying it while Yu Nianzhen stood by to protect him.
One day later, Jiang Yue signed and stood.
"This formation is nine points similar to the one we found in the Sixi Mountain range." He said and Yu Nianzhen raised an eyebrow.
"What’s different about it?" He asked.
"For one, this formation is of the water element while the one in the Sixi mountain range is of the earth element."Jiang Yue answered and quickly continued.
"Also, the formation map is similar but not exactly the same." He said.
"What about the incomplete part?" Yu Nianzhen asked and Jiang Yue nodded in appreciation.
"I can’t be sure but I think both formations are missing the same part." He said and Yu Nianzhen nodded.
This was what he expected.
After all, the foreign devils were not stupid and should have considered the possibility that someone would find the formations.
Because of this, they ensured that the Cangxing cultivators could not use some of of the formations to deduce the missing part of others.
"There is another thing..." Yu Nianzhen started, looking at Jiang Yue with a solemn face
"XiaoYue, what do you think about the location of this formation?" He asked but Jiang Yue didn’t answer right away.
Instead, he looked around and ten breaths later, he gasped and narrowed his eyes.
"There is nothing special about this place." He said and quickly continued.
"It’s only a few metres from the river edge and there is no cave or other unique things." He said and Yu Nianzhen nodded.
The formation in the Sixi Mountain range was hidden in a demonic beast cave but this array was out in the open.
Even though it was within a hidden formation that could divert people’s attention from the area, it was still relatively easy to discover compared to the one in the Sixi mountain range.
"Why did the foreign devils arrange it here?" Jiang Yue muttered with a confused expression.
"They could have arranged it in the forest or found a more discreet place but why didn’t they?" He asked and Yu Nianzhen nodded.
"I also find it strange." He said.
After that, Jiang Yue took out a map of the Cangxing world and circled their exact location.
"Let’s wait until we find a few more formations. Maybe a pattern will emerge." He said and Yu Nianzhen nodded.
"That’s our only choice." He said and narrowed his eyes before speaking.
"Xiaoyue, I have an idea." He said and Jiang Yue raised an eyebrow.
"What idea?" He asked.
"The reason that we left the teleportation stone in the Sixi mountain range is because we want to spy on the devils when they return to the cave. However, it’s enough to leave a few stones. We can deal with the rest." Yu Nianzhen said and Jiang Yue tilted his head.
"What do you want to do?" He asked.
"I want to find a remote island on the East sea and arrange a killing formation there. We will then throw the teleportation stones inside, ensuring that the devils will arrive there when they eventually use their teleportation stones." He explained and Jiang Yue chuckled in appreciation.
"Azhen, you have such a devious mind." He said and the swordman smiled.
"The foreign devils have a big headstart and there is no guarantee that we will catch up before they complete their plan." He started.
"Our best strategy is to use their plan against them and hopefully catch them all in a big urn." He said.
"I like your idea." Jiang Yue nodded.
"In that case, let’s move this teleportation stone." Yu Nianzhen suggested.
After all, the formation was near Pei village and the devils would likely not be kind when they next returned.
"Alright. Let’s go with your plan." Jiang Yue agreed and collected the teleportation stone into a trapping formation disk.
After that, Jiang Yue copied the formation map of the incomplete array and further modified the hidden formation.This way, ordinary cultivators would not accidentally stumble into the area, leading to unnecessary complications.
When that was done, the two returned to the village and rested for a day before going to the village chief to cancel the lease.
Since there was nothing more to learn in Pei Village, the two boarded their ship and quietly left the area, heading to their next destination.
Three weeks passed in the blink of an eye.
During that time, Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue found two other incomplete formations and teleportation stones hidden within a formation.
After studying the formations, Jiang Yue learned that excluding the incomplete parts, the arrays were similar to the ones in Pei village and the Sixi mountain range but not exactly the same.
That said, unlike in Pei village, the two formations were in relatively remote places but the two didn’t let their guard down and still felt that there was something off about the locations that the foreign devils had chosen.
Unfortunately, neither Yu Nianzhen nor Jiang Yue could discern a pattern from the markings they had made on the Cangxing world map.
On this day, a ship landed on a small mountain and two people jumped down before collecting the ship.
"Jialan town is up ahead." Jiang Yue said and Yu Nianzhen nodded.
