Chapter 64: Celestial Sky Sect Disciple
Six hours after Yu Nianzhen entered the thousand herbs garden, seven blue lights entered the secret realm.
The lights enveloped four women and three men.
Each of them was at the peak of the ninth level of the origin forging realm, and Jiang Yue was among the seven.
"Finally." He muttered.
He looked around and saw that he had landed in a valley.
The valley was between two small hills and was bordered by a small lake on one side.
Around him, herbs grew like weeds, and he subconsciously recalled their names.
"Water cleansing grass, eight petal jasper flower, blue grain grass,..."
The more he identified the herbs, the more his heart beat faster.
For some reason, all the herbs in the area were especially useful for cultivators whose origin had a water element.
"Is this a coincidence?" He was doubtful.
However, he couldn’t be bothered to investigate.
Instead, he began to harvest the herbs and placed them in the prepared containers.
"I should find Nianzhen and let him plant the herbs in the jade box."
At that thought, he grabbed his communication token and injected a strand of qi.
However, the token did not react, and he frowned slightly.
"He is probably too far away."
Like other resources, communication tokens had different grades.
The one in Jiang Yue’s hands was a peak grade silver rank communication token which connect within a distance of one hundred kilometres.
That he couldn’t reach Yu Nianzhen meant that the other was more than one hundred kilometres away from him.
"I will try again later."
Jiang Yue was not discouraged.
Before entering the secret realm, they had expected such a situation and made plans for it.
For as long as they stuck to the plan, they would eventually meet.
Until then, he had to collect as many herbs as he could.
With such thoughts in mind, Jiang Yue collected all the herbs in the valley before walking out.
After walking out, he removed a jade tablet from his robes.
This jade was a modified copy of the secret realm’s map.
Jiang Yue looked at the map and then studied his surroundings carefully.
"I should walk West." He finally said.
Other than the communication tokens, Jiang Yue and Yu Nianzhen devised different ways to meet.
One of the ways was to meet at designated areas within the secret realm.
Following the plan, the first area was a field called the four-turn medicine field.
Although herbs grew wildly in the secret realm, there were some special fields protected by formations.
The four-turn medicine field was such a field.
From the information contained in the map, the four-turn medicine field grew herbs required for detoxifying elixirs.
It was protected by a four-turn formation comprised of four different poisons.
If one couldn’t break the formation, they would be poisoned to death before harvesting the herbs within the formation.
Luckily, the four-turn formation was relatively simple to break.
Because of this, the two had made the four-turn medicine field their first rendezvous point.
According to plan, they would immediately make their way towards the field as soon as they arrived in the secret realm.
Whoever arrived first would break the formation or adapt to whatever situation they encountered.
Regardless of the situation, they would stay in the area for three days and only move on to the next rendezvous point if they couldn’t contact the other in that period.
"I wonder if he has already arrived." Jiang Yue wondered aloud.
Yu Nianzhen had entered the secret realm ahead of him, and he worried if the other had already made it to the rendezvous point.
However, Jiang Yue was not anxious.
Although he wanted to hurry up and meet Yu Nianzhen, he did not ignore the herbs along the way.
At every turn, he would stop to collect the herbs before moving along.
In this way, half a day passed.
Jiang Yue was about to sit down to adjust his breath when he felt eyes on his back.
His face creased in a frown, and his eyes narrowed.
"Come out." He shouted.
He turned around and looked in a certain direction.
However, he did not see anyone, which made him a little more vigilant.
His qi circulated within his meridians, and he began to prepare for an attack.
"Fellow Taoist doesn’t need to be so vigilant." A voice said.
From behind a hill, a young man appeared.
At one moment, the young man was a kilometre away, but he was in front of Jiang Yue in the next.
"I am Li Futian, a disciple of the Celestial Sky sect." The young man said, and Jiang Yue grew warier.
In the Cangxing world, the Celestial Sky sect was the most mysterious faction.
Like the Sea Cloud Sect, it was one of the sixteen regional rulers.
However, the Sea Cloud Sect was a righteous faction, while the Celestial Sky sect was a neutral faction.
Some rumours said that cultivators from the sect could peep into the secrets of heaven.
Others said that the sect was responsible for balancing the luck of the world.
The only thing that was known for sure was that the sect was responsible for formulating the Cangxing list.
It didn’t matter how one hid, the celestial Sky sect could rank all the cultivators in the world.
Because of the sect’s mysterious methods, none of the factions dared to offend cultivators of the Celestial Sky sect.
"I am Jiang Yue, a disciple of the Sea Cloud Sect."
The young man turned to Jiang Yue and smiled.
When the young man first arrived, Jiang Yue was more focused on checking the surroundings for danger.
Now that he looked at the cultivator called Li Futian, he noticed a lot of strange things.
For one, the person had his eyes closed, even while ’looking’ at him.
However, he didn’t seem not to see him, and Jiang Yue could still feel his eyes on him.
"It is fate to meet fellow Taoist Jiang." Li Futian said and smiled.
If someone else said the same words, Jiang Yue wouldn’t think too much.
However, he couldn’t help but think too much when Li Futian said that.
He had a feeling that the other’s words weren’t a formality but something deeper.
Something more mysterious.
"If fellow Taoist Jiang doesn’t mind, I would like to travel together."
Jiang Yue frowned when he heard that.
In a secret realm, it was always a bad idea to travel with unknown people.
Because of this, he wanted to refuse the other’s invitation.
However, Jiang Yue did not feel any malice or threat from the other.
He didn’t know if it was because Li Futian was not hostile or because he was hiding too deeply.
Either way, Jiang Yue knew it wasn’t a good idea to travel together, but he was a little curious about Li Futian.
He had heard about the Celestial Sky sect, and he wanted to witness their methods first-hand.
’I should be able to deal with him if he is planning something.’ He thought.
"This Jiang does not mind the company."
Li Futian smiled, and Jiang Yue had a feeling that his answer had long been expected.
He frowned a little and then shook off the feeling.
’There is no need to overthink it.’
Without asking the other’s opinion, Jiang Yue led the way to the west.
"Did fellow Taoist Jiang enter through a token or a blue star?"
Jiang Yue froze when he heard the question.
When he broke through to the origin forging realm, there was a blue star phenomenon.
However, unless he specifically mentioned it, no one would know that the phenomenon had anything to do with him.
At that time, supreme elder Yang had helped him disguise his star before closing Yang mountain.
The only people who knew that he was a blue star were Yu Nianzhen and Yang Xu.
Even his master thought that he was a silver star.
Because of this, he was very surprised that Li Futian had randomly asked his question.
Most strange, he felt that he didn’t need to answer because the other already knew the answer.
"What about fellow Taoist Li?" He asked instead.
Li Futian chuckled and stretched out his right hand for Jiang Yue to see.
Jiang Yue was not polite, and he looked at the wrist only to see a blue star.
When he saw this, his eyes narrowed, and he became a little more vigilant.
In the beginning, he suspected that the meeting was not a coincidence, and this made him even more suspicious.
However, he couldn’t understand the other’s intentions.
’If he approached me intentionally, why isn’t he acting less suspiciously?’
’Does he want me to know that he approached me intentionally?’
’For what reason?’
’Does he want me to ask about it?’
Thousands of thoughts crossed his mind, but Jiang Yue did not reveal them on his face.
In the end, he concluded that the other wanted to lead him to a certain conversation.
However, Jiang Yue wouldn’t be led.
If the other didn’t say his intentions, Jiang Yue would not ask.
"I plan to head to the four turns medicine field. Does fellow Taoist Li have any objection?"
"None at all." Li Futian answered, and his lips curled in a smile.
