Chapter 630: Tournament 5
Shuangguang Hu was horrified and subconsciously shuddered.
"What did you say?" He asked, looking at an elder with dagger sharp eyes.
The elder was Shang yan; an early-stage nascent soul realm cultivator.
Shang Yan was also an elder in the information hall of the Cangxing sect.
"Sect master..." Shang Yan started but ultimately sighed.
Like the sect master, Shang Yan was horrified when he heard the bad news.
Unfortunately, the crime had already been committed and he couldn’t turn back time.
At a loss, Shang Yan could only report the matter and hope the sect master had a solution.
"How is the situation?"
"Things are still calm. However, the sea beasts are restless."
When he heard this, Shangguag Hu clenched his hands and spoke through gritted teeth.
"What about Duan Quan? Where is the damned traitor?"
"He and several nascent soul realm ancestors have already gone to sea."
"Is that so?" Shangguan Hu narrowed his eyes.
"Tianqi City is in the domain of the Cangxing sect. We can’t avoid this responsibility."
"Sect master, what should we do?"
"First, we must replace the city lord of Tianqi city. Since the Duan family knows nothing but to cause trouble for my Cangxing sect, there is no need to keep it."
"Prepare a list of suitable nascent soul realm elders. I will choose a new city lord for Tianqi city."
"I understand." Shang Yan nodded.
"We must also gather a group to head to the East Sea."
"Sect master, what do you mean?"
"The East Sea borders the domain of my Cangxing sect. If those traitors succeed, a sea beast tide will soon arise. What do you think will happen when an unexpected sea beast tide appears?"
"None of the sea cities, towns, and villages are prepared. Millions of people will die and cities will be destroyed." Shang Yan in a solemn voice.
"Those bastards only thought of causing trouble for the Zhenyue family but didn’t think about what would happen to the surrounding cities." Shangguan Hu cursed.
"Also, senior Yu and senior Jiang are immortal realm cultivators. It’s impossible for a mere sea beast tide to cause trouble for them. After dealing with the sea beasts, they will demand an explanation from our Cangxing sect."
"Sect master, we must get ahead of this situation." Shang Yan urgently said.
"I know." Shangguan Hu said, removing a communication jade pendant from his storage ring.
"Before he left, senior Jiang left a communication jade pendant. I will message him and explain the situation. I will also tell him let him know the Cangxing sect will send elders and disciples to assist with the sea beast tide."
"Senior Jiang is a reasonable person. He won’t blame our Cangxing sect for Duan Quan’s actions." Shang Yan said and soon continued.
"Sect master, we should also the other sects and big families. We can’t let them add to the chaos."
"Good."
.....
On the Fog Sea, in a certain ancient palace, a communication jade suddenly vibrated.
"It’s mine." Jiang Yue said and checked the message.
A moment later, he sighed, replied to the message, and put away the jade pendant.
"What’s the matter?" Yu Nianzhen asked.
"It seems we don’t have to go into the sea."
"Why is that?"
"That message was from Shangguan Hu." Jiang Yue started and briefly explain.
"Apparently, our people offended the city lord of Tainqi city three years ago. However, the city lord couldn’t do anything to them because they had nascent soul realm puppets."
"Three years later, the city lord has gathered a group of nascent soul realm cultivators to attack our Zhenyue family."
"First, he wants revenge for the humiliation he and his family suffered three years ago. Second, he covets the things in our Zhenyue Archipelago."
"As a result, he has done something to incite a sea beast tide. When we are occupied with the sea beasts, he plans to rob treasures."
When Yu Nianzhen heard this, he frowned.
At first, he worried their Zhenyue family had subtly become the kind of hidden family that recklessly caused trouble.
However, when he heard Jiang Yue’s explanation, the swordsman was relieved.
After all, based on the revenge plan, the city lord of Tianqi city was neither a good man nor a reasonable person.
If their Zhenyue family offended the person, it was because they were provoked first and left with no other choice.
"Do you want to investigate the matter?" Jiang Yue asked, his lips curled in a smile.
"There is no need." Yu Nianzhen said and Jiang Yue nodded.
"I also think so." He said.
"Our Zhenyue family doesn’t bully others but we can’t allow others to bully us."
"Mmmmm." Yu Nianzhen nodded with a thoughtful expression.
"What’s on your mind?"
"The Cangxing sect is a big sect." Yu Nianzhen stated and Jiang Yue raised his eyebrow in question.
"It has many mines and resources." The swordsman clarified and Jiang Yue chuckled.
"They must compensate us for this trouble." Jiang Yue said.
After that, the two didn’t dwell on the matter.
After all, dragons were the lords of the sea.
With Ao Tian eyeing the situation, nothing would go wrong.
The next day, Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue went to the arena as usual.
This was the third day of the tournament and the day for the talisman competition.
As usual, Xiaolan went to the middle of the arena and invited the talisman masters to the stage.
"There are talisman masters than alchemy masters but fewer than weapon refiners." Jiang Yue observed.
"One hundred and fifty-three is not a bad number."
"Jiang Xing, Ying Liu, Gu Dong, and Xue Zhang are on stage." Jiang Yue said and soon continued.
"There are more martial artists than Zhenyue people."
"We should still do fine." Yu Nianzhen said and his speculation was right.
At the end of the competition, the outcome was fifty-fifty.
The number of martial artists and Zhenyue family in the top twenty was split ten for ten.
However, Gu Dong took first place while Jiang Xing and Ying Liu tied for second place.
After the competition, the participants and spectators excitedly left the island.
However, Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue didn’t leave.
"Do you need my help?" Yu Nianzhen asked.
"Give me a moment to think." Jiang Yue answered.
The fourth day was the formation competition.
As a formation master, Jiang Yue was responsible for the competition.
Unfortunately, he procrastinated and hadn’t thought of the test method or rewards.
Seeing the person’s thoughtful expression, Yu Nianzhen didn’t disturb him.
Instead, he quietly waited for instructions.
A quarter of an hour later, Jiang Yue suddenly smiled and looked at Yu Nianzhen.
"I have got it." He excitedly said.
"I knew you would." The swordsman said with a doting look.
"How can I help?"
"I want to arrange a formation." Jiang Yue chuckled.
After that, the two worked for an hour before leaving the arena.
The next day, everyone arrived as usual but this time, Xiaolan didn’t fly to the middle of the arena.
Instead, she stood at the edge of the stage and looked at the spectators.
"The formation competition has two stages." Xiaolan said and flapped her wings, causing a thick fog to appear on the stage.
"The first stage is getting through the formation." She said and pointed at the fog.
"Within the fog is a maze formation arranged by my master. The maze has one entrance and five exits."
"Each exit represents a level of formation mastery." Xiaolan said, waved her hand, and a screen appeared.
Level points:
Level one – 10 points
Level two – 20 points
Level three – 30 points
Level four – 40 points
Level five -50 points
"After passing the first stage, formation masters can proceed to the next stage." Xiaolan said and soon continued.
"The second stage is arranging a formation and the points will be awarded as breaking the formation. However, there will be bonus points for combining defence and offense."
"Does everyone understand?" The butterfly asked and waited a few moments before she continued.
"If there are no questions, the formation masters can now enter the maze."
After saying that, Xiaolan flew to the side and the formation masters hurried into the formation.
"I am optimistic about Jiang Han." Jiang Yue said when he saw his third cousin enter the maze formation.
"Jiang Han has always been diligent, serious, but also creative. He is suitable for formations." Yu Nianzhen was also optimistic about the person.
"Ying Si is also suitable for formations. It’s hard to say who will take the first place." Jiang Yue said, waved his hand, and a big screen appeared in the middle of the arena.
On the screen, Jiang Yue, Yu Nianzhen, and other spectators saw the formation masters.
After entering the maze formation, the formation masters saw five tunnels.
The tunnels looked similar and seemed to lead to the same place.
However, everyone knew this was just an illusion.
Although the tunnels were similar, their levels were different.
Unfortunately, there were no level signs at the mouth of each tunnel.
