Chapter 504: A Moment in Time
Several moments after Yu Nianzhen was engulfed by golden light and disappeared, another figure appeared at the foot of the staircase.
The person had silver hair and an extremely beautiful face.
This person was Jiang Yue.
"I wonder how long it has been." He muttered and frowned.
Although it didn’t feel like he spent a lot of time rediscovering himself, he had a feeling that a lot of time had passed.

After that, Jiang Yue looked at the endless stairs and a trace of nostalgia stole into his eyes.
"Azhen should also be fine." He said and his lips curled into a smile.
"I want to see him." He sighed but soon focused his heart and mind.
"The sooner I cross the tribulation, the sooner I see him." He said and stepped onto the first step.
Like Yu Nianzhen before him, a golden light rose from the stairs and engulfed Jiang Yue.
Soon after, Jiang Yue disappeared from the stairs and reappeared outside a palace.
"Is this our ancient palace?" Jiang Yue couldn’t help but wonder.
At a glance, the palace was very similar to his and Yu Nianzhen’s ancient palace.
However, the palace in front of him was grander and more majestic.
"What is going on?" Jiang Yue wondered and looked around.
The palace was built on top of a mountain at the centre of a small island.
There were ancient forests surrounding the mountain and a beautiful blue sea could be seen in the distance.
Taking a closer look, Jiang Yue saw spirit beasts running in the forests and spirit fruit trees and herbs growing unrestrainedly all over the island.
However, there were no people on the island.
’Maybe there are people in the ancient palace.’ Jiang Yue thought and immediately walked towards the palace entrance.
As if sensing his arrival, the door opened.
Seeing this, Jiang Yue hesitated for a moment but ultimately decided to enter the palace.
With a determined look in his eyes, he crossed the threshold and entered the palace.
However, as soon as he entered the palace, the door behind him disappeared.
"I can’t say I didn’t expect that." Jiang Yue sighed and looked around the familiar lobby.
"It’s a lot like our ancient palace." He muttered with a frown on his face.

With such thoughts in mind, Jiang Yue left the lobby and followed the familiar route to the main sitting room.

Compared to the feeling of being in an illusion, the current situation felt different.
For some reason, he felt that he was experiencing a moment in time.

’I should listen carefully.’ He thought but soon felt awkward.

’What the hell are they doing at a time like this?’ Jiang Yue thought angrily.
At first, he wanted to enter the main sitting room.
However, he suddenly remembered Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and couldn’t help but hesitate.
After all, the people in the sitting room were himself and Yu Nianzhen.
What if meeting a past or future version of himself caused a bad and dramatic consequence to his and Yu Nianzhen’s life?
When he thought of this, Jiang Yue chose to hide and only expose himself if there was no other choice.

"Two fellow daoists." He called again.
Unfortunately, the two didn’t acknowledge his presence and continued to rest in each other’s arms.
"Can’t they see me?" Jiang Yue sighed and his frown grew deeper.
"It seems I am only an observer and not a participant in this moment." He decided and walked to a nearby seat.
’I hope they don’t do anything in front of me.’ He thought as he sat down.
Fortunately, the heavens did not let him down.
After waiting for half an hour, the two sat up and continued their conversation.
"I am afraid this battle can’t be won." Jiang Yue said.
"A battle at four fronts is not easy to win." Yu Nianzhen said and sighed.
"The two of us are the most powerful people in the ten thousand worlds realm but we can’t save our little homeland. I am afraid our Cangxing world will be destroyed."
"If you wish it, we can leave the ten thousand worlds realm." Yu Nianzhen suggested but when Jiang Yue heard it, he burst into laughter.
"Why are you laughing?" Yu Nianzhen asked with a doting smile in his eyes.
"We could leave but do you want to leave?" Jiang Yue asked.
Hearing this, Yu Nianzhen sighed and rubbed his lover’s hair.
"You know me so well." He said and continued.
"The Cangxing world is our homeland and the Ten Thousand Worlds realm is our origin. We can’t abandon them."
"In that case, there is only one way." Jiang Yue said with a solemn look in his eyes.
"If we do this, we will die and whether we can reincarnate will be a matter of luck. Azhen, are you willing?"
"I am not willing but what can we do?"
"I am also not willing but I am equally unwilling to abandon our homeland."
"XiaoYue, you and I will always be together. Whether it’s this life or the next, we are meant to be together. If we disappear from this life, we will meet again in the next."
"I know." Jiang Yue said, chuckled and kissed his lover’s cheek.
