Chapter 443: Awakening
The world map Yu Nianzhen was talking about was what they found in the storage ring of one of the robbers.
Although it wasn’t detailed, it had a general layout of the Reincarnation world.
"Good." Jiang Yue said and removed the map from his storage ring.
A moment later, he spread the map on the ground and the two looked at it carefully.
"The Reincarnation world is divided into five zones. The first zone is closed and has never been opened." Jiang Yue repeated what they heard from the robbers.
"The second, third, fourth, and fifth zones are for top-grade, high-grade, mid-grade, and low-grade worlds respectively. Our Cangxing mountain is here." Yu Nianzhen said and pointed to a peripheral area on the map.
"If what they said is true, there aren’t many mid-grade reincarnation stones in the fifth zone. Considering that, we will face a lot of challenges when the time comes." Jiang Yue said with a frown on his face.
"XiaoYue, believe me, our Cangxing world will never lose."
Hearing this, Jiang Yue narrowed his eyes and looked at his husband.
"You seem to be awakening." He finally said.
"Awakening?"
"Since we transmigrated to the Cangxing world, you have avoided leadership and unnecessary responsibilities. You have never been willing to be burdened by external things." Jiang Yue said and the swordsman flinched.
"Do you resent me?" He asked in a low voice.
"Resent you?" Jiang Yue chuckled and looked at his husband with a soft smile in his eyes.
"In our previous life, you and I were always busy. You had to lead the Yu family and I had the Jiang family. When we travelled to the Cangxing world, neither of us wanted extra burdens and responsibilities. However, ..."
"However?"
"Azhen, you were never meant to lead an obscure life." Jiang Yue said and interrupted when Yu Nianzhen was about to argue.
"My nature is carefree and adaptable to any situation. However, your nature is domineering. Azhen, I don’t want to see you look up at anybody."
"XiaoYue." Yu Nianzhen muttered with a complicated expression on his face.
"Azhen, there is no need to suppress your nature."
"I am not...."
"You are." Jiang Yue said and sighed.
"Your Taoist title is the Supreme Sword God but your natal sword art is called the Heaven Dominating sword art. Azhen, you don’t need to dominate the heavens. Your nature is to suppress and transcend the heavens."
Hearing this, Yu Nianzhen felt a long-lost feeling awakening in his soul.
Back on earth, he led the Yu family to stand at the top of the world.
He worked harder than everyone else and never shied away from a challenge.
However, he became a little timid when he transmigrated to the Cangxing world.
Subconsciously, he started to worry about gains and losses.
He became afraid of losing his life and losing the hard-won happiness.
Although the changes weren’t too noticeable, Jiang Yue knew him well and naturally saw the subtle changes.
At this time, Jiang Yue’s words and the situation of the Cangxing world finally awakened the sleeping dragon.
"XiaoYue, whatever I become, you must stay by my side." Yu Nianzhen stated.
"Where else would I go?" Jiang Yue said with a playful smile on his lips.
When Yu Nianzhen saw the smile, his eyes darkened.
Before Jiang Yue could react, he was pulled on his husband’s lap and kissed until he lost his breath.
Three days later, Jiang Yue woke up to see Yu Nianzhen studying the world map.
The man had a cold look in his eyes and Jiang Yue momentarily had an illusion of their days on Earth.
"What’s the matter?" He asked as he sat next to the swordsman.
"Although our map isn’t detailed, the area of the fifth zone is quite detailed." Yu Nianzhen said and pointed at the fifth zone.
"What do you see?" He asked.
Hearing the question, Jiang Yue frowned and began to study the map.
Half an hour later, he turned to Yu Nianzhen and raised his eyebrow in question.
"Are you talking about the mines?" He asked and Yu Nianzhen nodded in encouragement.
"Apart from our Cangxing world, all the other worlds own more than three mines." Jiang Yue said.
On the map, the different territories were colour-coded and the mines were clearly marked.
Because of this, Jiang Yue could tell which mines belonged to which world.
"What else?"
"There are about one hundred thousand mines in the fifth zone. Most are low-grade reincarnation stone mines and a few are mid-grade mines. In the fifth zone, only our Cangxing world has a high-grade reincarnation stone mine."
"Look at the fourth zone." Yu Nianzhen urged and Jiang Yue did the same.
Although the fourth zone wasn’t as detailed as the fifth zone, the mines were clearly marked.
"The number of mines is about the same. However, only one-third of the mines are low-grade while the rest are mid-grade. There are no high-grade mines."
"What can you infer about the third and second zones?" Yu Nianzhen continued to question.
"If I am not wrong, at least half of the mines in the third zone are high grade and the remaining are mid-grade. In the same way, most of those in the second zone are high grade and the rest are top grade."
"I have the same thoughts." Yu Nianzhen nodded and Jiang Yue frowned.
"If our thoughts are true, our high-grade mine is attractive to worlds in the fifth, fourth, and third zones. It may even be attractive to some of the worlds in the second zone." Jiang Yue said and his heart was struck by a sudden sense of crisis.
From the beginning, he knew the situation of their Cangxing world was not optimistic.
However, it was not until this moment that he truly understood the scope.
"Our high-grade mine has at least twenty million high-grade reincarnation stones. It’s a piece of fat that’s attractive to most of the worlds." Yu Nianzhen said.
"Aren’t we the farmers who found precious jade?" Jiang Yue said with a hint of self-mockery in his voice.
"We are indeed the unlucky farmers." Yu Nianzhen said but his tone of voice sounded a little off.
"In nine hundred and ninety-nine years, our Cangxing world will face a siege from all sides. There is no way to avoid it."
"Azhen, our Cangxing world suffered for thousands of years to accumulate the three mines. Those mines are the capital for our world’s revival and we can’t allow them to fall into the hands of others." Jiang Yue said, his voice laced with a rare aggressiveness.
"I know." Yu Nianzhen said and rubbed his husband’s hair to soothe his frazzled emotions.
"XiaoYue, our Cangxing world has just returned to the Reincarnation world and we only have three hundred people. Even if all our people advance to the reincarnation realm, we will still be outnumbered. More importantly, our world’s cultivation techniques, skills, and weapons are inferior. No matter how I think about it, our chance of victory does not lie in numbers and all-out war."
When he heard that, Jiang Yue fell into thought and soon figured it out.
Although a few geniuses could probably hold their own against foreign cultivators, most of the Cangxing people were at a disadvantage.
Considering this, the chance of victory lay elsewhere.
"Azhen, what are you thinking?"
For a moment, Yu Nianzhen did not answer.
He remained silent but thousands of his thoughts were organising into different scenarios.
In fact, Yu Nianzhen had already thought of a solution.
However, vocalising the solution would bring an end to the almost ordinary life he was used to living.
"Azhen." Jiang Yue called and looked at his husband.
Seeing the trust in the other man’s eyes, Yu Nianzhen sighed.
’Since XiaoYue doesn’t want to keep a low profile, I will satisfy all his wishes.’ He thought and his eyes hardened into cold diamonds.
"All this time, I have been thinking too passively." Yu Nianzhen said.
"What do you mean?"
"Our mines don’t have low-grade reincarnation stones and mining mid-grade stones is too difficult for first-level reincarnation realm cultivators. If we wait for our people to level up before we start mining, our Cangxing world will fall into a further disadvantage."
"I know this but what can we do?" Jiang Yue asked with a frown on his face.
"Can’t you think about it?" Yu Nianzhen asked and then hinted.
"Most of the foreign worlds have been in the Reincarnation world for thousands of years. They have plenty of mines, plenty of miners, and plenty of resources. These things are exactly what we need."
"Although the opponents can’t challenge us for nine hundred and ninety-nine years, isn’t there a loophole we can exploit?"
"From a different perspective, our high-grade mine is not only the jade in the farmer’s hands but also an irresistible bait. If we think this way, don’t we have a chance to come out ahead?"
When Jiang Yue heard this, he fell silent.
A moment later, his eyes widened and a smile slowly curled his lips.
