Chapter 382: More than One Hundred Years of Ignorance
Two days passed in the blink of an eye.
At noon on the third day, Jiang Yue and Yu Nianzhen went to the city’s south gate.
This was the meeting place agreed upon when they took the task.
"It looks like things won’t be easy." Yu Nianzhen whispered and Jiang Yue nodded.
As soon as they arrived, they noticed the team had more people than expected.
Other than the previous eleven, there was another group of purple-robed cultivators.
The purple-robed cultivators looked at ease but the original team was uneasy.
"I bet the extras belong to the Rong family." Jiang Yue whispered.
"They should be." Yu Nianzhen agreed and frowned.
The task was arranged by the original team and the two didn’t need to worry too much.
However, with the addition of the Rong family, Yu Nianzhen felt the task would become complicated.
"Are you fellow Daoist Jiang and fellow Daoist Yu?" One of the original eleven asked.
"I am Jiang Yue and he is my Taoist companion, Yu Nianzhen." Jiang Yue introduced.
While travelling, they hid their cultivation and didn’t allow others to spy on them.
However, when they took the task, they revealed a cultivation base at the third level of the origin tempering realm.
It’s because their revealed cultivation was not too high that the original eleven allowed them to take the task.
"Which one of you is the fourth-level formation master?" A purple-robed cultivator asked.
"Is there something?" Jiang Yue asked and looked at the person.
Although he disliked the person’s tone, he didn’t want to start something before they found the tomb.
"Can you be a fourth-level formation master with your cultivation?" The man disdained.
This time, Jiang Yue couldn’t keep his smile.
He sneered and his eyes turned cold before he spoke.
"You can’t do it but that doesn’t mean that I can’t." He said arrogantly.
"You..., do you know who my master is?"
Unfortunately, Jiang Yue couldn’t be bothered to deal with him.
Instead, he turned to Yu Nianzhen and rolled his eyes.
At the same time, Yu Nianzhen rubbed his hair, as if telling him not to bother with irrelevant fools.
"Wait for me..."
"Shut up." A young man shouted and glared at the troublesome youth.
The young man was also dressed in purple but his clothes were more luxurious and elegant than the others in the group.
"Since fellow Daoist Jiang is a fourth-level formation master, we will have nothing to worry about when we reach the tomb." The young man continued in a gentle voice.
However, his gentleness hid a trace of cruelty.
Everyone knew that the young man was warning Jiang Yue.
He was telling him that things would go wrong if Jiang Yue couldn’t deal with the formation at the entrance of the tomb.
’Stupid.’ Jiang Yue thought and looked at the person with mockery in his eyes.
"Since everyone is here, let’s go." The young man said.
"Senior brother Rong, can I go with you?" Junior sister Wei immediately jumped in front of Rong Yu.
Rong Yu looked at the young woman and suppressed the impatience in his heart.
If it were not because she came to him about the tomb, he would not indulge her so much.
However, he didn’t intend to let her return from the tomb.
As he thought that, a trace of malice flashed in his eyes but it was so quick that no one noticed it.
"Junior sister Wei is of course welcome to ride with me." Rong Yu said with a gentle smile on his lips.
"Thank you, senior brother."
After that, everyone entered their carriages including Jiang Yue and Yu Nianzhen who got on their bullock cart.
"Two fellow Daoists, do you want to come with us?" A young man suddenly offered.
"Why?" Jiang Yue asked in confusion.
Hearing the question, the young man looked at the bullock and blushed.
He wanted to say that the bullock would slow them down but he was too embarrassed to actually say it.
"How can a fourth-level formation master ride a bullock cart? Aren’t you embarrassed?" The purple-robed young man who had previously quarrelled with Jiang Yue sneered.
"What’s there to be embarrassed about." Jiang Yue returned and then turned to the first young man.
"Don’t worry about us. Our bullock with keep up."
When he heard that, the young man couldn’t continue asking.
He returned to his demon horse-pulled carriage and the group drove out of the city’s south gate.
"That Rong Yu is not a good thing." Jiang Yue said as they drove further from the city.
"Mmmm." Yu Nianzhen agreed.
The man had a gentle voice and smile.
However, among everyone in the group, he had the most vicious heart.
"We don’t know what kind of tomb we are going to so we need to be vigilant." Yu Nianzhen warned.
"I know." Jiang Yue sighed and leaned on Yu Nianzhen’s shoulder.
"They won’t do anything until all the formations are broken. What we should worry about are the traps in the tomb."
After that, the two didn’t talk.
They leaned on each other and enjoyed the passing scenery.
When night came, they joined others to camp in the open.
Under ordinary circumstances, the two would usually sleep in the ancient palace.
However, they wanted to keep a low profile so they didn’t reveal they had a portable cave.
In the morning, the journey resumed and the group didn’t stop until evening.
On the evening of the fifth day, the young man who invited them to his carriage on the first day came to sit with them.
"I didn’t expect your bullock to be so good." He said and looked at the bullock in admiration.
"He is very powerful." Jiang Yue said proudly.
"I almost wish I bought a bullock instead." He said and sighed while looking at his demon horse.
His demon horse was only a class two demonic beast.
Although it was fast, it tired easily and didn’t have the same stamina as the couple’s bullock.
"Speaking of your bullock, why don’t I see you feeding him?" The young man asked.
When the two heard this, they looked at each other in shock.
It had been more than one hundred years since they got the bullock from old man Cang.
However, they had never fed it once in that time!
"Is there something wrong?" The young man asked when he saw the shock on their faces.
"There is nothing wrong." Jiang Yue said and took a deep breath before continuing.
"Our bullock took a bigu pill before leaving Frost Lake City."
"Is it okay to feed it a bigu pill?"
"It’s okay." Jiang Yue said but he lacked confidence.
Other cultivators raised their demonic beasts and took care of all their cultivation resources.
However, he and Yu Nianzhen were the opposite.
Not only had they never cared about the bullock’s daily life, they even took advantage of it once in a while.
After talking for a while, the young man left and the two immediately felt urgent.
[This...senior Niu.] Jiang Yue called.
The bullock sighed and the two felt a wave of helplessness in their minds.
[You can’t afford my cultivation resources.] The bullock finally transmitted.
[Senior Niu, in fact, we are not too poor. We still have a lot of treasures that can be exchanged for resources.]
[Let’s talk about it when you leave the secret place.]
[The secret place won’t appear until one hundred years later. We don’t even know how long we will be there...] Jiang Yue reminded.
[Whenever you come out will be the time to talk about it.]
After saying that, the bullock ignored them and the two looked at each other in helplessness.
[It won’t be too late to thank senior Niu when we come out.] Yu Nianzhen transmitted through their soul bond.
[You are right.] Jiang Yue agreed and sighed.
Three days later, their group reached the vicinity of the tomb.
However, Yu Nianzhen discovered three core formation realm cultivators following a distance behind them.
’As expected, it won’t be peaceful.’ He thought and looked at Jiang Yue.
"I haven’t fought seriously since I broke through to the core formation realm. I can’t wait to test myself." Jiang Yue whispered and Yu Nianzhen shook his head.
Although the distance between them was more than one thousand kilometres, Yu Nianzhen could see them clearly.
One of the three was in the late stage of the core formation realm while the remaining two were in the early stage and mid stage.
With such a lineup, it was impossible for Jiang Yue to need his full strength to defeat them.
If the two really wanted to test their strength, they could only go to the battlefield to fight foreign devils.
Still, Yu Nianzhen wanted Jiang Yue to have fun so he didn’t plan to interfere.
"I will leave them to you." He said with a doting smile on his lips.
"Good." Jiang Yue said and the two continued forward, pretending they didn’t see the orioles behind.
