Chapter 367: Battlefield Signal
"Is what you said true?" Meng Zihua urgently asked.
Hearing the question, Jiang Yue looked out and sighed.
"The poisoned cultivator was an old man with an unfathomable cultivation." Jiang Yue said.
"What happened to him? What about an antidote?" Xuan Ke asked.
"I don’t know about an antidote but that person died."
[Fellow Daoist Jiang, what do you mean by unfathomable cultivation?] Meng Zihua suddenly sent a voice transmission.
[I think fellow Daoist Meng should have an idea.] Jiang Yue said and Meng Zihua turned solemn.
As the young leader of the BlueStar Treasures Pavilion, Meng Zihua was exposed to many secrets of the Cangxing world.
She knew that powerful ancient cultivators had disappeared for some reason.
However, she also knew that once in a while, unfathomable beings and creatures appeared in the Cangxing world.
The cultivation of these cultivators, beasts, and plants felt like they were above the nascent soul realm but no one could confirm it.
After all, one of the few ways to confirm it was to fight them...
Considering the possibilities, no one dared to provoke these unfathomable beings for fear of kicking an iron plate.
"I see." Meng Zihua muttered and didn’t continue asking.
"How long should we wait?" A female cultivator asked.
She, like everyone else, was terrified.
On one hand, she wanted to hide in the sword domain and on the other, she wanted to get out.
"They are coming." Someone suddenly said.
"Who?"
"The Death Flower Ascension Front."
"Why are they coming here?" Someone asked with terror in their voice.
"Are they coming to finish off our fellows?"
"Are we going to stand here and watch our fellows being slaughtered?"
"Didn’t anyone notice? Most of those who are outside belong to the evil sects." Someone observed.
"Now that I look, you seem to be right."
"It’s because they didn’t trust our righteous sects that they were caught in this situation."
"They deserve to die."
When those within the sword domain realised that most of the poisoned cultivators belonged to the evil sects, they were suddenly relieved.
In their hearts, they felt it was more acceptable for evil cultivators to die than righteous and neutral cultivators.
However, they forgot that all cultivators in the Cangxing world were temporarily united to eliminate the Death Flower Ascension Front.
If the poisoned cultivators died, it meant a two hundred people decrease in the overall fighting force.
"They are saying something to the poisoned cultivators." Someone refocused everyone’s attention.
"What are they saying? I can’t hear anything."
"I also can’t hear."
"Why can’t I hear? Are they using a treasure or formation to isolate the space?"
At a loss, everyone watched as the poisoned cultivators and the disciples of the Death Flower Ascension Front voicelessly discussed something.
A moment later, the group of poisoned cultivators divided into two.
One group had about one hundred and fifty people while the other contained the remaining fifty.
The group of fifty looked at the other warily but their eyes were filled with determination.
"What’s happening?" A male cultivator asked but no one answered.
Although no one said anything, they all had an ominous premonition.
They felt that something terrible was about to happen and they could barely keep themselves from panicking.
"It seems the Death Flower Ascension Front has an antidote for the poison." Wei Ge said with a sharp look in his eyes.
"It seems so." Meng Zihua said angrily.
From observation, she understood what was happening.
If her deduction was right, the Death Flower Accession Front had an antidote for the poison.
However, only those who were willing to join them could have the antidote.
As for those who were not willing...
Meng Zihua thought about it and couldn’t help but shake her head in frustration.
"Should we rush out?" A disciple from the Tang clan asked.
"We have six hundred and fifty while they have more than one thousand. We are too outnumbered." Another argued.
"In fact, our best choice is to rush out. If we don’t leave, we will soon be surrounded and we may not be able to break through the enemy numbers."
"This fellow Daoist has a point. We should leave before enemy reinforcements arrive."
"What about the poison? Can we be sure it has cleared out of the air?"
At that, no one spoke.
However, they all understood that they were between a rock and a hard place.
If they left, they ran the risk of being poisoned while fighting a stronger enemy.
On the other hand, they ran the risk of being surrounded if enemy reinforcements arrived.
"Generally, our side has more people. There is also a chance that our people will come to our rescue." Someone argued.
"It depends on whether our allies are faced with a similar situation. If they are..." A cultivator from the Great Zhu empire started but he didn’t need to finish because everyone understood.
After this, everyone fell silent again and chose to look outside.
At this time, the one hundred fifty poisoned cultivators who chose to join the Death Flower Ascension Front began to bear down on the others.
"If we are going to do something, this is the time." Someone warned.
"Fellow Daoist Jiang, what do you think?" Meng Zihua turned to Jiang Yue.
In turn, Jiang Yue looked down and saw that Yu Nianzhen was still meditating.
He knew Yu Nianzhen’s sword domain wouldn’t hold for much longer.
In that case, he wanted everyone to get out sooner rather than later.
In that way, Yu Nianzhen would still have some qi and sword intent when he recalled the sword domain.
"Let’s prepare to rush out." Jiang Yue finally made a decision.
After saying that, everyone began to prepare.
These preparations included sticking isolation talismans on their bodies, taking detoxification pills, and activating defence artefacts.
Jiang Yue and Xuan Ke also did the same.
At the same time, Yu Nianzhen stopped his meditation and stood up.
"There is another way." Someone suddenly said.
"What way?"
"Teleport as soon as we get out of the sword domain."
When everyone heard that, some cultivators looked down with guilty expressions on their faces.
Before they heard the suggestion, they already planned to teleport away.
They never thought about rescuing the poisoned allies or fighting the Death Flower Ascension Front.
"It’s impossible to know where you will end up when you teleport. You may jump from the pot to the fire." A disciple of the Sea Cloud sect rationalised.
"There is no simple solution to our situation."
"It’s best to stay together."
"No matter the decision, it is best to do it now." Someone urged and everyone saw that a fight had broke out on the outside.
"I will open the domain." Yu Nianzhen said and everyone became a little tense.
However, before Yu Nianzhen did as he said, Wei Ge urgently stopped him.
"Fellow Daoist We, what’s the matter?" Meng Zihua asked but Wei Ge didn’t answer.
Instead, he frowned and his eyes turned solemn.
Several moments later, he sighed and grief coloured his eyes.
"Let’s wait awhile, there will be a turning point." He finally said.
"What do you mean? What kind of turning point?" Someone asked but Wei Ge was in no mood to answer.
With a determined face, he walked closer to Yu Nianzhen and whispered.
"Fellow Daoist Yu, can you strengthen the sword domain a little more?" He asked.
When he heard the question, Yu Nianzhen didn’t answer right away.
He had an idea of what Wei Ge was about but he couldn’t be sure.
"Fellow Daoist Yu..." Wei Ge started but Yu Nianzhen interrupted him.
"I can." Yu Nianzhen answered and looked at the area of his sword domain.
On the surface, his sword domain was a grassland.
The grassland wasn’t as vast or beautiful as senior Niu’s space but it was sizeable and decent-looking.
At the moment, the six hundred cultivators only occupied a small area while the rest was empty.
To stabilise the sword domain, Yu Nianzhen began to compress the domain area.
In the blink of an eye, the six hundred or so cultivators were squeezed into a small space and some couldn’t help but complain.
However, neither Yu Nianzhen nor Wei Ge cared.
At the moment, their priority was to survive the coming disaster.
[Azhen, is it what I am thinking?] Jiang Yue asked with a solemn look on his face.
[How did fellow Daoist Wei know?]
[I am only guessing but someone should have signalled him.] Yu Nianzhen said.
[How?]
[Fellow Daoist Wei is a permanent cultivator of the Border Guard faction. However, many cultivators like to go to the battlefield to experience. It’s not strange that someone signalled knowing that Wei Ge or someone else would understand.]
[It’s too bad we haven’t been to the battlefield.] Jiang Yue lamented.
If they had been to the battlefield, they would have been able to catch the signal that was secretly sent.
"There will be a chance in the future." Yu Nianzhen said but Jiang Yue hardly caught the words.
