Chapter 208: Returning to the Lu Residence
Three days later, Jiang Yue and Yu Nianzhen snuck off their courtyard.
They didn’t head to the Lu family residence and instead went to a famous fragrance house in Black Wind city.
"They should be here in a few moments." Jiang Yue whispered.
He pulled his husband to hide close to the wall and Yu Nianzhen didn’t resist the pull.
Although they had invisibility talismans, prevention was better than cure. It was best to take precautions to avoid being detected by their targets.
Ten seconds later, Jiang Yue tapped Yu Nianzhen’s shoulder and pointed towards the front.
"They are here." He said.
Yu Nianzhen looked at the place Jiang Yue pointed and saw three men.
The young men wore flashy clothes and were talking loudly as they made their way to the back door of the fragrance house.
"Get ready." Jiang Yue called but didn’t wait for an answer.
He released XiaoLan from the contract space and the butterfly toward the three men.
As it flew, it released silver dust that looked like light particles.
However, the three young men were too focused on their conversation and didn’t notice the particles.
Soon after, they inhaled the particles and their eyes turned a little dull.
At this, Jiang Yue and Yu Nianzhen moved.
In the blink of an eye, they rushed from their hiding place and grabbed the jade cards hanging from the waists of the three young men.
After grabbing the jade cards, Yu Nianzhen and Jiang Yue returned to their hiding place.
At the same time, one of the young men shook his head and frowned.
He felt a little strange but couldn’t be bothered to think about the strangeness. At the moment, he was more concerned about the new flowers in the fragrance house.
"It went smoothly." Jiang Yue said and looked at the jade card in his hand.
"Did you think it wouldn’t?" Yu Nianzhen asked with a smile on his face.
Originally, Jiang Yue wanted to find a weak point in the defensive array of the Lu family but Yu Nianzhen disagreed.
From what they knew, the main array was monitored by several clan elders.
If one of the elders noticed something, they would be discovered before they entered the Lu residence.
After thinking about it, Yu Nianzhen suggested they should steal the jade cards carried by the members of the family.
Although the jade cards could only help them pass the main array, Yu Nianzhen felt it was enough.
As long as they didn’t alert the clan before the deed was done, their chances of escape would be much higher.
"How about the suggestion?" Yu Nianzhen asked.
"There is nothing to worry about. They inhaled XiaoLan’s illusion dust and a suggestion was planted in their minds. They won’t leave the fragrance house until three days later. By then, it won’t matter when they discover they have lost their jade cards."
"Good. Let’s go the Lu family."
"Should we remain invisible or..."
"Remain invisible." Yu Nianzhen said.
Although they had taken a one-day disguise pill, Yu Nianzhen wasn’t assured to walk around without an invisibility talisman.
His worry wasn’t that someone would see through their disguise, he worried that someone would realise they were not part of the clan.
If that happened, they could forget about robbing the Lu family and would have to run for their lives.

As they talked, the two arrived at the gate of the Lu family residence.
Above it was the emblem of the Lu family and each side of the gate was guarded by two meridian awakening realm cultivators.
When Jiang Yue and Yu Nianzhen arrived, the four cultivators were talking amongst themselves.
"I heard all the origin tempering realm cultivators can enter the nine treasures’ secret realm." One of them said excitedly.
"What’s the use of being excited? With your cultivation, you can forget about the nine treasures’ secret realm." Another sneered.
"What about you? Aren’t you also dreaming?"
"What’s wrong with dreaming?"
"Our Lu family will also send all the young masters at the origin tempering realm."
"Our Lu family will be the first family in Black Wind city after one hundred years."
"How can it be that easy! Do you think other families won’t send all their talents?"
"What do you know?!" One of the guards sneered and the other three looked at him.
"Do you know something?" One asked and looked at the person inquisitively.
Although they had poor talent and could only guard at the gate, the guard who spoke earlier had a talented sister.
The sister was a disciple of one of the minor elders and often knew things they didn’t.
It was likely she knew something which she relayed to her brother.
"I heard that our Lu family is planning something big." He whispered in a conspiratorial tone.
"Something big..." One of the guards muttered and thought about it.
The others also did the same and couldn’t think of anything after considering it for a long time.
When he saw they didn’t figure it out, the informed guard snorted and gathered them together.
"Our Lu family has invited an alchemist." He whispered and the others gasped.
"Does the clan mean to urge the cultivation of a few disciples?" One of the guards asked in shock.
Urging the cultivation realm with elixirs was common in the Cangxing world.
However, everyone knew that doing so was cutting off their future path.
Unfortunately, a lot of cultivators could not resist the temptation.
This time, the Lu family planned to let a few cultivators in the qi transformation pill take the promotion pill.
As long as they took it, they would be forcibly promoted to the origin tempering realm and gain the qualification to enter the nine treasures’ secret realm.
"This Lu family is crazy." Jiang Yue muttered in disgust.
They heard everything said by the guards and couldn’t help but be disgusted.

However, before he could completely let go, a hand covered his mouth.

Yu Nianzhen was about to say more when he heard footsteps behind him.
He hurriedly pulled Jiang Yue to the side and gestured for him to keep quiet.
Jiang Yue nodded and turned his head to look at the new arrival.
As luck would have it, it was the fifth elder.
He looked to be in a good mood and didn’t even admonish the guards for neglecting their duty.
"We have seen the fifth clan elder." The guards called and the fifth elder waved his hand.
He held out his jade card and placed it on the array.
Soon after, his figure was sucked into the array and disappeared from the gate.
However, the guards were slightly bewildered.
"Do you feel something is wrong?" One asked.
"Did the array take too long to close when the elder entered?" Another asked.
Unfortunately, their cultivation was too low and couldn’t tell what was wrong.
If their cultivation was better, they would have noticed that two young men followed the elder to pass through the formation.
Their movement was so fast that the three entries looked like one extended entry.
On the other side of the array, Jiang Yue and Yu Nianzhen heaved a sigh of relief.
Although they had the jade cards and could pass through the formation at any time, they wanted to avoid attention.
After thinking about it, they decided to follow someone into the array.
