Chapter 169: Ancient Palace
A day later, Jiang Yue opened his eyes.
"How?" A deep voice asked from beside him.
Without hesitation, Jiang Yue opened his right hand, and a flame appeared.
"It’s a lot better. I have fully merged with the flame, and controlling it is no longer a problem." He answered.
"That’s good. Your eyes are also back to normal."
When he heard that, Jiang Yue looked at the other inquisitively.
"Do you like me like this or with the yin-yang eyes?" He asked.
"All are you, and I like you." Jiang Yue flushed when he heard that, and his heart a filled with happiness.
"When did you learn to be sweet?"
"I just need to look at you, and the words will naturally come to me."
"You..." Jiang Yue was choked by Yu Nianzhen’s reply.
He didn’t expect that his ten thousand years ice block could also melt in such a fantastic way.
"XiaoYue, today is our birthday." Yu Nianzhen said.
"I know."
Although he was cultivating, Jiang Yue had kept the day in mind.
If not for that, he would have spent more time accustoming himself to his new flame.
"XiaoYue, I want to be your Taoist companion. Will you do the Taoist ceremony with me?" Yu Nianzhen asked.
His voice and expression seemed as usual, but he was extraordinarily nervous.
Although he knew that the other loved him, he couldn’t control his nerves. His mind was filled with conjectures, and he couldn’t be at ease until Jiang Yue accepted his request.
"Azhen..." Jiang Yue called, and his mood was uncharacteristically shy.
"You don’t have to worry about anything. I have prepared everything for the ceremony." Yu Nianzhen hurriedly explained.
The silver-haired beauty looked at him and was quite surprised.
When the swordsman asked to be a Taoist couple, Jiang Yue thought he meant to have sex.
He didn’t expect that the other was referring to the marriage ceremony.
However, he was thinking too simply.
After waiting for two lifetimes, how could Yu Nianzhen be so callous about their relationship?
Although he couldn’t hold a grand ceremony, he had carefully prepared everything that should be prepared.
"What do I need to do?" Jiang Yue asked.
"Does that mean you agree?"
Jiang Yue rolled his eyes and looked at the person whose IQ had dramatically dropped.
"I agree." He clarified.
Yu Nianzhen sighed in relief, and smiled happily.
He then waved, and a small palace appeared on his palm.
The palace looked like a toy in a princess line doll set, and Jiang Yue looked at it curiously.
"What is it?" He asked.
"It’s an ancient palace artefact. Master gave it to us as a wedding present." Yu Nianzhen said, and his ears pinkened.
In his previous life, he had wanted to be with Jiang Yue.
However, he had never hoped for marriage.
After all, their relationship was already difficult; considering their families and same-sex relationship restrictions in their country.
Fortunately, they had died and transmigrated to the Cangxing world.
In this way, they could be together in an upright manner, and their relationship could continue forever.
"Ancient palace..." Jiang Yue looked at the little palace in amazement.
"Master also said that it is a growth artefact. Its level will increase with our cultivation. It also has a defensive formation that is two levels above our cultivation."
"This thing is really good." Jiang Yue said happily.
With this ancient palace, they didn’t have to camp in the wild like they were currently doing.
More importantly, the defensive formation could help them defend against stronger enemies.
"When we break through to the qi transformation realm, the formation will only be vulnerable to nascent soul realm cultivators."
"That’s the idea. However, the formation needs spirit stones to run." Yu Nianzhen warned.
Under normal circumstances, Jiang Yue would have to grumble at the additional mouth to feed.
However, he was currently too happy to care about anything.
"How do you make it bigger?" He asked.
Yu Nianzhen moved his hand closer to the other and spoke, "it needs your blood to refine."
"What about you?"
"I have already refined my part."
In fact, Yu Nianzhen preferred to refine it together.
However, he needed to prepare everything, so he regretfully refined the ancient palace ahead of Jiang Yue.
"One drop of blood will do."
When he heard that, Jiang Yue didn’t hesitate.
He used a dagger to prick his finger, and a drop of blood fell onto the small palace.
A moment later, the palace glowed with a red light, and when the glow subsided, he felt a connection with the artefact.
"This artefact is interesting." Jiang Yue said happily.
Normally, it was impossible for two people to refine the same artefact. However, this ancient could be refined by two, which made it very unusual.
"It should have belonged to a Daoist couple." Yu Nianzhen said.
His master had found it in the land of the fallen but didn’t know much about it.
However, Yu Nianzhen had seen some signs when he first entered the ancient palace. If he wasn’t mistaken, the ancient palace really did belong to a couple.
Unfortunately, he had no way of knowing what happened to them.
"Let’s go in." He said and threw the palace on the open ground.
A moment later, it expanded and in the blink of an eye, it was already ten metres tall and thirty metres long.
"It’s quite big." Jiang Yue said in amazement.
"It’s even bigger inside." Yu Nianzhen said mysteriously.
He then held the other’s hand, and both passed through the defensive formation that surrounded the ancient palace.
As soon as they entered the door, the room automatically lit up.
"There are night pearls everywhere." Jiang Yue admired.
"Yes." Yu Nianzhen chuckled.
Night pearls were the most common method of lighting a room but the night pearls in the ancient palace weren’t common.
Yu Nianzhen had already examined them and determined their quality was higher than those in his master’s courtyard.
"It is bigger than how it appeared from the outside." Jiang Yue gushed.
"It should be some kind of space formation."
"Compared to ancient cultivators, we are too inferior."
"Don’t give up to soon. Your formations will surely advance to this level." Yu Nianzhen rubbed the other’s hair, and his eyes softened.
He hadn’t done much to change the original appearance of the room, but he was still happy to see Jiang Yue’s satisfied expression.
"This is the main room. It is the largest on this floor." He introduced.
After that, the two went on a tour of the ancient palace.
The first floor had a main room to entertain guests and ten guest rooms.
Unlike the first floor, the second floor didn’t have a main room but had more guest rooms and training rooms.
Unfortunately, most of the rooms on this floor were closed, and the two did not know how to open them.
"Since this ancient palace is a growth artefact, maybe our cultivation is not enough to open them." Jiang Yue said.
He was a little disappointed, but he didn’t allow his mood to fall.
"What’s on the third floor?"
"Do you want to know?" Yu Nianzhen teased.
His lips twitched, and he looked at the other with a spark in his eyes.
"I want to know."
Yu Nianzhen chuckled, and anyone could tell he was in a good mood.
"I will take you to see." He said and took Jiang Yue’s hand.
The two went to the third floor, and Jiang Yue immediately saw the difference.
Unlike the other floors, this floor only had one large room with independent areas portioned using paper screens.
The largest area had a wooden bed that reminded Jiang Yue of beds in their previous life.
"Did you make this?" He asked and looked at Yu Nianzhen.
"I did."
Although they were cultivators and didn’t need to rest as much as mortals, Yu Nianzhen still decided to prepare this bed.
He knew Jiang Yue disliked the uncomfortable stone beds used in the Cangxing world. In all honesty, he also didn’t like them, and he didn’t want either of them to continue compromising.
"I like it." Jiang Yue said and winked.
Yu Nianzhen reddened and then looked away to introduce other areas.
"The area over there is for practice, and that over there is a bathing pool."
"The previous owners knew what’s what." Jiang Yue said and nodded in appreciation.
This room had everything that a Taoist couple needed. They could practice and play without ever leaving the room.
When he thought of that, Jiang Yue couldn’t help but redden.
His heart beat a little faster, and it suddenly occurred to him that this was where he and Yu Nianzhen would live in the future.
Even if they frequently stayed in the same room, it wasn’t the same as living together.
After today, they would become Taoist companions and their fates would be entwined forever.
When he thought of that, Jiang Yue looked at the room decorated in red and found it particularly pleasing to the eye.
