Chapter 2137: Chapter 2174: I Won’t Eat You Anymore
Ding Fan looked around dispiritedly; it felt terrible, as if he were some strange creature surrounded by a crowd. These indigenous people were very curious about them, seemingly treating him and Mu Gaosou as if they were the real natives.
A young girl proudly jumped down from the giant’s shoulder and pointed at Ding Fan, saying, "He’s my captive. Shall we cook them up for a feast later?"
A group of Ye Family men and women were taken aback upon hearing this, and then they all burst into laughter, many of them speaking with wide open mouths.
"If Miss Xi wants to eat, then let’s cook him, but make sure to cook thoroughly; it’ll be tastier that way."
"I think eating it raw is good; I can make a dipping sauce."
"No, roast it, pierce the head with an Iron Spear, sprinkle cumin and sesame oil; it tastes best when grilled!"
"I think I can stir-fry it."
Upon hearing this, Ding Fan and Mu Gaosou’s hair stood on end; the Ye Family members actually enjoyed eating people? Considering whether to eat it raw or grilled?
Imagining himself turned into a whole sheep, roasted in the fire, Ding Fan couldn’t help but start cursing in his heart!
Swish, swish, swish~
Footsteps sounded through the tribe, and then a brown-haired person walked out from the crowd.
Ye Fan looked with despair, sensing five people ahead with an aura like a dragon, giving him a powerless feeling, a sensation only felt when facing an invincible person.
The brown-haired man walked out, glanced at the Golden Giant, saying, "Put this person down and go back, big fool."
The Golden Giant tossed Ding Fan down, walked to the other side of Gao Shan, and Ding Fan and Mu Gaosou scrambled to their feet, not daring to move, but Ding Fan’s Inner Strength circulated secretly within him, planning to take a strong person down with him at the last moment.
"Why?"
The brown-haired Elder’s eyes swept across Ding Fan’s body, noticing the Bone Pendant Chain on his neck, uttering a surprised sound.
After scrutinizing a few glances, his gaze suddenly lit up, his lips trembling slightly, asking Ding Fan with a quivering voice, "Young man, do you have a Sirius on your back?"
Ding Fan got tossed down and immediately stood up, though the Elder couldn’t see his Sirius Mark, as it was obtained in the Sirius Ancient Tomb during the Sirius legacy, he said to the Elder suspiciously, "Yes, what’s your intent?"
The Elder trembled, this time not just his lips, even his body shook, his eyes ablaze as if seeing a beautiful woman, a woman not wearing clothes.
Taking a deep breath, he asked again, "Young man, is your family name Ding?"
Ding Fan and Heavenly Tree Elder Gao exchanged glances, both somewhat dumbfounded, what’s happening? How does this Elder know his surname is Ding?
At this juncture, Ding Fan thought there was no need to hide; he straightforwardly declared, "My name is Ding Fan."
"Buzz..."
Not just the brown-haired Elder, but the four people around him immediately had their eyes shine brightly, trembling with excitement.
"Bone Pendant, Sirius Mark, Ding-surnamed youth!"
An Elder excitedly said to the brown-haired man, "Chief, is he from the Ancestral Stele?"
Apart from the Ye Family Chief and the four Elders, others didn’t understand.
"Grandpa, what are you saying?" Miss Xi asked, her eyes wide open.
The brown-haired Elder looked at Miss Xi without explaining; he walked over, turned around, looked at the Sirius Tattoo on Ding Fan’s back, saying joyfully, "If he can activate the Ancestral Stele, he truly is that person, then he is our master, the master we’ve awaited for thousands of years."
"Wow~"
The words of the Ye Clan leader stirred a clamor among nearly a hundred people outside the tribe. Many people looked at Ding Fan with heated eyes, clearly expressing disbelief.
"Grandpa, are you mistaken?"
Miss Xi’s eyes were full of disbelief, mumbling, "He is so weak, even inferior to me, how could he be the master we’ve awaited for thousands of years?"
"Master?"
Mu Gaosou’s eyes widened, exchanging glances with Ding Fan, both finding it humorous, absurd, and laughable.
Even though the two had nothing to do with them, and possessed no special belongings, otherwise they would suspect that the elders were deceiving them for some benefit.
Ding Fan’s personal name was not obvious, the Sirius Tattoo on the back was known by no one except Xia Mengqing, besides, the appearance of the Beast Bone Pendant looked ordinary, certainly not like a strange Treasure. But the elders knew, and even knew his surname was Ding? This rendered Ding Fan’s feelings inconceivable.
"Xiao Xi, stop talking!"
The brown-haired Elder scolded, then smiled at Ding Fan, "This young brother, I am Ye Li, the Ye Family Chief; can I take you to the ancestral hall? Don’t worry, we won’t harm you."
"Hmm?"
Ding Fan and Mu Gaosou showed surprise, not expecting this turn of luck? If the family chief publicly made a statement, how could it not count? Though unsure if they could return to Tianmu Sea, just hearing they wouldn’t be harmed, both felt relieved.
Ding Fan quickly nodded, responding to Ye Li, "Alright, I’ll go with you."
"Let’s go back! Don’t gather here anymore."
The Ye Clan leader, Ye Li, addressed the clan members with a smile, inviting Ding Fan to proceed. Ding Fan and Mu Gaosou entered the tribe cautiously, followed by the four elders and Miss Xi lined up behind them.
"Are these pavilions aging, waiting for thousands of years? Could it be that Ye Ai really lived here for thousands of years?"
The pavilions on both sides of the road appeared very old, exuding an aura of age. Even if not a thousand years, certainly hundreds of years had passed.
The pavilions looked old but not dilapidated. In many places, they appeared repaired, tidy, and elegant. Nearby, dense small trees grew, resembling elves in the forest.
This tribe had only a few thousand pavilions, implying the Qingluan Tribe’s population wasn’t large, perhaps only two or three thousand people.
All the Qingluan People wore linen skirts, and aside from their pointed ears, they were no different from ordinary people like Ding Fan and Mu Gaosou.
After walking for a quarter of an hour, they arrived in front of a much older pavilion, with mysterious patterns engraved on its walls. The door was closed, emitting a dark, mysterious feeling.
Ye Li pushed open the pavilion’s door, inviting them in. Ding Fan entered, stepping forward, following Ye Li, the four elders, and Miss Yemu Gaosou. Inside the ancestral hall, there was little except for a barren hall with many spirituality symbols on the ceiling. Ahead on the left was an ancient stele, marked with the traces of time.
"Here, here."
Mu Gaosou’s eyes were fixed on the stele, his face filled with surprise, as he rubbed his eyes, thinking he had seen wrong.
Ding Fan curiously glanced over, noticing the script differed from that of the Northern Desolation of the Divine Realm. After a few looks, he only recognized the character "Ding."
"Why?"
Miss Xi curiously approached the stele, softly reciting its inscriptions: "A boy with the surname Ding descends from the sky, wearing a mysterious animal bone chain around his neck, with a Sirius tattoo on his back. He will lead our people back to their ancestral land, restoring the glory of our millions of people..."
Miss Xi’s eyes widened as she suddenly turned her head toward Ding Fan, intently staring at the bone pendant chain around his neck. She circled behind Ding Fan, examining the Sirius Mark, before exclaiming loudly, "Oh, ah! How can what is written on the ancestral plaque resemble this person? Grandpa, what is happening?"
Ding Fan, hearing Miss Xi’s words, quickly looked at Mu Gaosou, nervously inquiring, "Mu Gaosou, are the words on that stele really written like that?"
Mu Gaosou heavily nodded, "It’s seal script, an older type of writing. What’s written matches what the young lady said."
Absurd, damn it, this is freaking madness.
Ding Fan’s eyes widened, feeling a bit confused. If he didn’t know this script, he would have thought the young lady was speaking nonsense.
This stele appeared partially weathered, with unclear characters, let alone being inscribed many years ago.
In other words...
Before Ding Fan was born, before his father and grandfather were born, today this stele foretold a scene. It predicted he would enter this otherworld, have the animal bone chain, and the Sirius mark on his back, and prophesied he would lead two families back to the ancestral land.
Nonsense! Fooling ghosts!
Ding Fan suddenly shook his head, rubbing his face to wake himself up. This was too ridiculous, he couldn’t believe it!
"Don’t you find it laughable?"
Suddenly, Ye Li smiled at Ding Fan, explaining, "Young brother, listen to my explanation, and you’ll understand. This is not a story, nor is it absurd."
Ding Fan’s eyes locked onto Ye Li’s face. Mu Gaosou looked over, he found it equally absurd, and looking at Mu Gaosou, he suddenly asked, "Brother, have you heard of the Ten Divine Arts?"
Mu Gaosou frowned, touched his head, then nodded, "Seems I’ve heard of them. Isn’t there a method called divination? But... it seems lost?"
"Yes!"
"Many divine arts vanished ten thousand years ago, but thousands of years ago, one of our Ye Clan ancestors obtained half a scroll. It contained the Divination Art, which due to fate, allowed the Ye Clan and the Meng Family to foresee calamity and avoid it. Otherwise, both clans would have been destroyed."
"The Ten Divine Arts, Divination Art?"
Mu Gaosou muttered a few words, his eyes sparkling with astonishment, exclaiming, "Isn’t this Divine Skill a legend? Are there really Ten Divine Arts in this world? Is there really divination?"
"Legend?"
"How could it be a legend?" Ye Li smiled, responding, "The ancient Blood Clan’s blood flows through humanity, and awakening the lineage is one of the divine arts, called Bloodline Inheritance. Do you think, if not for divine technique, how many people would awaken the inheritance and have unimaginable abilities?"
Ding Fan and Heavenly Tree Elder Gao exchanged looks, feeling there seemed to be some reason.
A Legacy Warrior inherently defies fate, like the Jade Goshawk Palace’s Silver Condor Goddess killing so many, or Xia Mengqing’s Phoenix Rebirth body capable of turning people to ashes!
Ye Li paused, continued explaining, "This Divination Art is to predict fate, to foresee our destiny, and to predict the past and present, enabling us to avoid misfortune. Thousands of years ago, when the Six Great Clans united to attack us, our ancestors calculated and relocated us to this otherworld. Otherwise, the Ye and Meng families wouldn’t exist now; the ancestor left this memorial stele."
Ye Li pointed at the memorial stele, "The ancestor made ten predictions in his life, never wrong. The stele contains his final prediction, and young brother, your situation matches exactly with what is inscribed on the stele!"
Ye Li finished his explanation, well-supported and clear. Yet, Ding Fan still found it hard to believe. Could such magic exist in this world that predicts things happening thousands of years later?
If true, this person could rival immortals. Is there really an immortal world? If not, how do we explain the inscriptions on the stele?
"If you want to know if you are our master, it’s simple!"
"Just inject inner strength into the stele. If it lights up, then there’s no doubt." Ye Li pointed to the stele.
Ding Fan hesitated to move, feeling some resistance. Beside him, Miss Xi urged, "What are you waiting for? Go on! Go on! If you’re our master, I won’t eat you!"
