Jiang Zheyu wanted to purify Shan Xun’s Beastification Value to earn points.
Shan Xun said he didn’t know his current Beastification Value, but that didn’t matter. Jiang Zheyu would find out soon enough when she helped him purify it.
"Don’t worry. I’ll find out once I start the purification." Jiang Zheyu reached out and took Shan Xun’s hand.
When Shan Xun saw Jiang Zheyu take hold of his wrist, his deep purple eyes flickered. He fell silent for a moment before speaking. "With your current spiritual power, you shouldn’t need to hold my hand to enter my Spiritual Domain."
Jiang Zheyu, who was holding Shan Xun’s hand, paused.
Jiang Zheyu: ’...’
’Was he trying to shrug me off? Or was he unhappy that I was holding his hand?’
"Oh, I’ve always held people’s hands when I do purifications, so it’s a habit," Jiang Zheyu said breezily, pointedly not letting go. She looked up at Shan Xun. "What’s wrong? Can’t I hold your hand? It’s not like we haven’t held hands before, anyway..."
She muttered the last part very quietly.
"It’s nothing. The thought just occurred to me; I wasn’t telling you to let go," Shan Xun said slowly, turning his own hand over to gently envelop hers.
At that, Jiang Zheyu blushed faintly.
She felt the rough, broad expanse of his palm. Quietly, she reached out her other hand and placed it over his as well. The pads of her slender, delicate fingers tapped against the back of his hand as if dancing. She leisurely looked up at Shan Xun and said softly, "Captain Shan, your hands are really big."
Shan Xun met her smiling gaze, and a captivating glint of amusement appeared in his own. The five fingers tapping lightly on the back of his hand felt like droplets of cool rain, a damp, insistent touch he couldn’t ignore.
The tips of his ears slowly reddened. His eyelashes fluttered as he lowered his gaze, hiding the mix of fluster and feeling in his eyes.
’What’s with this female?’
Shan Xun raised his other hand and pressed it to Jiang Zheyu’s forehead. His voice was slightly hoarse, but his expression was perfectly serious, as if he genuinely suspected it. "Are you sick?"
Jiang Zheyu couldn’t help but let out a small laugh at that.
"I’m not sick," Jiang Zheyu said with a smile, the corner of her lip curling. "Alright, alright, I’ll stop teasing you. I’m going to enter your Spiritual Domain to start the purification now."
"Mm," Shan Xun hummed in agreement.
Soon, Jiang Zheyu closed her eyes, and her spiritual power slowly entered Shan Xun’s Spiritual Domain Space. He hadn’t put up a Spirit Barrier, so she slipped inside with ease.
Within the pure white expanse of the Spiritual Domain Space, there was an enormous black wolf with deep purple eyes.
Jiang Zheyu had always suspected his beast form was a purple wolf, but Shan Xun had denied it, saying his beast form wasn’t purple. Afterward, she’d forgotten to ask what color it really was.
Now, at last, she knew what his beast form looked like.

When the massive black wolf noticed someone had entered, it rose to its feet. But upon sensing who the spiritual body belonged to, it lay back down again.
Not the least bit afraid, Jiang Zheyu walked over cheerfully.
Wisps of black energy floated around the great black wolf, and Jiang Zheyu once again saw a familiar black orb.
The orb was intensely, deeply black, and inside it swirled a dense, dark energy, spinning so fast it looked as if it would burst out at any moment.
Jiang Zheyu paused for a moment, then first purified all the surrounding black energy before taking the dense orb in her hand and purifying it completely.
She felt a damp sensation on her face.
The enormous black wolf had lowered its head and was continuously licking her cheek, then slowly her neck, then slowly her arm...
It was as if the wolf was spreading its scent all over her, marking her as its own.

Her gaze shifted, and she saw its tail.
What was different was that this tail was black, with a streak of purple mixed in.
Jiang Zheyu’s eyes widened slightly. ’So he really does have purple fur on him!’
A tuft of purple fur mixed in with the black gave it a cool and mysterious look.
Jiang Zheyu recalled Shan Xun’s usual buzz cut. ’I wonder if his hair is black with a streak of purple, too?’
Her curious gaze fell upon the great black wolf’s tail.
Soon, the tail with its streak of purple fur swung over and landed right in her hands.
Startled, Jiang Zheyu hugged the black-and-purple furred tail to her chest.
The black wolf lay calmly on the ground, its eyes narrowed slightly, indulgently allowing her to have its tail.
"You’re the best, big black wolf. You’re such a good boy," Jiang Zheyu said to herself as she hugged the tail and stroked it gently.
Jiang Zheyu loved the soft feel of the tail.
Stroking the tail, Jiang Zheyu finally, reluctantly, left the Spiritual Domain Space.
When she came to, she found herself being held in an embrace by Shan Xun.
She wasn’t the least bit surprised by this.
’After all, I deliberately held his hand to purify his Beastification Value. I knew he wouldn’t be able to resist hugging me. See? He really did hug me.’
’As expected. No beastman can resist Jiang Zheyu.’
So, Jiang Zheyu wrapped her arms around Shan Xun’s waist, and through the layer of fabric, she gently poked the abs on his side. "Hey, Captain Shan, are you awake?"

When Shan Xun came to his senses, he found himself holding the young female tightly. He even felt that this wasn’t enough, that he wanted to do more.
His throat was unbearably dry. He grabbed Jiang Zheyu’s shoulders, intending to push her away, but found that the young female was hugging his waist tightly.
So he pushed, but couldn’t move her. He clearly had the strength to push her away, but when he realized how tightly she was hugging his waist, the force in his hands unconsciously slackened.
He just let her hold him.
"You..." Shan Xun swallowed hard.
