Chapter 1121: Chapter 1121: Angry
Junia Simpson felt the temperature around her drop suddenly after saying that!
"Find out who those people are that kidnapped her." Mason Nightshade said coldly.
Junia could clearly feel that Mason was angry, not just a little bit, but furious.
Mason’s bottom line has always been that his sister-in-law was untouchable. Even when the President spoke ill of her, Mason would defend her, let alone something that directly threatened her life.
She could imagine how furious and guilty Mason felt knowing his sister-in-law faced danger while he wasn’t around.
...
Mason opened the door to the hospital room and saw Aurelia Shaw sitting cross-legged on the bed.
She maintained the same posture she had when he left.
Her beautiful almond-shaped eyes gazed at him, her hand lowered over the Band-Aid he put on before leaving.
Aurelia wanted to speak, but as soon as she opened her mouth, she sensed Mason’s overwhelming... displeasure? Huh? He had only been gone a short while, who made him angry?
Aurelia put on her shoes and walked over, observing the man’s sombre face, "Why the grim face? Who made you angry? Are you still afraid of getting shots, scared? Or did the doctor scold you?"
But come to think of it, who would dare scold him?
They must have a death wish.
Seeing Mason silent, Aurelia kicked his calf and said sternly, "Talk, don’t say nothing."
Mason supported Aurelia’s bottom and lifted her up, pressing her against the wall, his hot breath blowing on her fair face, his eyes dark, face sombre, "Why didn’t you tell me about the kidnapping incident? Hmm?"
Aurelia was stunned; he knew.
With one hand holding Aurelia, Mason used the other to search his pocket. Aurelia wondered what he was looking for, only to see his distinctly jointed long fingers pick up the phone. The flashing light reflected on his gloomy face, making him appear terrifying, like an enraged demon from Hell.
Mason glanced at her, "Where’s the text message?"
Aurelia paused, looking at the phone.
Mason: "Didn’t I say that if you’re in danger, send me a text message? No matter when it is, I would see it!"
His phone had been specially configured so that if she sought help, even if he couldn’t see it, someone would come to her rescue.
But.
She hadn’t sent him any distress signal. Even when she was in danger, not a word was sent to him. She only texted him "I miss you" when safe, leaving him unsure whether he even deserved her seeking his help.
Or... Did she just not trust him?
Did she not trust he could rescue her? Not trust that he would risk his life for her?
"Their target was you; I was just bait." Aurelia’s tone was calm. Perhaps she had felt fear in that moment, but now past, recounting it brought only tranquility.
Aurelia: "Their goal was to use me to lure you into a trap..." seeing Mason’s face growing darker, Aurelia continued, "I thought about texting you, but when it happened, there wasn’t time, and they took my phone. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t send you one."
In fact, Hadrian Turner was always in contact with her. If she wanted to message, there were plenty of opportunities to do so.
She didn’t want Mason to fall into danger, that was one aspect. On the other hand—it was already over, she didn’t want Mason to have a falling out with Adrian Cooper because of her.
No matter the reason, even the closest brotherhood or trusted sovereign relationship, there’s always a day when cracks appear.
