Chapter 1119: Chapter 1119: Can’t Even Handle Such a Small Matter

Mason Nightshade closed his eyes, suppressed the memories of the past, and when he opened them again, his gaze was still calm and devoid of emotion.

Adrian Cooper glanced at him and then said, "I’ve had people investigate these matters to find out if they are truly the people you encountered in your previous life." Adrian Cooper paused, looking at Mason Nightshade, "How is your health? They’ve injected you with so many strange substances, don’t you think you should have Junia Simpson check it out?

Don’t focus only on your woman.

I’ll handle the matters here myself. Later, when you go to the hospital to pick up your woman, get yourself checked too."

Adrian Cooper dialed the landline, "I’ll call Junia Simpson to make sure she oversees your check-up."

Mason Nightshade raised an eyebrow but didn’t refute.

...

Hospital.

Aurelia Shaw finished a series of examinations and sat on the hospital bed, pressing the spot on her arm where a vial of blood had just been drawn. Her brows were tightly furrowed; she really disliked injections, or rather, loathed and detested them.

But she didn’t want to risk her life over it.

Preserving her life was more important than her aversions.

Who knew what that man injected into her back there?

Having delayed the examination for so long, she worried whether she had missed the best treatment window.

If it was missed... she thought, she might once again be a pair of ill-fated lovers with Mason Nightshade.

Amidst the dire situation, Aurelia Shaw tried to find humor, as Junia Simpson pushed the door open, gave her a glance, and said, "The test results will take a few days to come out, but I’ve found something else in your serum. Is there something you’re hiding from me?"

The only thing she had hidden from Junia Simpson was that she’d been injected with some unknown substance. It wasn’t that she intentionally hid it, there just hadn’t been an opportunity to mention it.

Now that Junia asked, Aurelia Shaw saw no reason to hide: "When I was in M Nation, I was kidnapped. They injected me with something, and I only had one adverse reaction: when I escaped, I felt very dizzy, had no strength at all, and my head hurt a lot.

It felt like something was swelling and about to burst out of my brain."

Listening seriously, Junia Simpson frowned, "I’ll need time to research exactly what was injected. Based on what you’ve told me, I should tell you in advance—it might not be good news."

Aurelia Shaw’s reaction was calmer than Junia Simpson expected, and she nodded, lifting the corner of her mouth, "It’s as expected."

Junia was stunned for a moment, recalling Mason’s image; at times, certain aspects of Aurelia Shaw reminded her of him.

Like the way both faced death with such equanimity.

As if they had already experienced it once before.

"I’ll go get the rest of your test reports."

Junia Simpson left the room and encountered a tall figure walking towards her, momentarily freezing, "Mason."

"Is she inside?" Mason Nightshade asked, glancing sideways into the room. The door was ajar, revealing a narrow slit through which he saw the woman inside sitting cross-legged on the bed, her brows furrowed, fiddling with her arm.

Mason Nightshade pushed the door open and went inside.

Why hadn’t it healed after rubbing for so long? Not only was it not better, but the wound was also bruised, what was going on?

Aurelia Shaw irritably wanted to throw away the cotton swab in her hand when a tall shadow loomed over her. She froze for a moment, looked up, and the irritation in her captivating eyes flashed away, replaced by a relaxed and gentle joy.

"Tsk tsk," Mason Nightshade clicked his tongue, snatched the cotton swab from her hand, and tossed it into the trash can. His demeanor was indifferent, but his tone carried concern, "Can’t even handle this little thing properly."
