Chapter 1107: Chapter 1107: (High Energy—Proceed with Caution) The Taste Is Really Quite Nice
Aurelia Shaw had just stepped out the door when a playful, devilish voice rang out: "I never expected it to be you."
Aurelia raised her head, looking at Alaric Wood standing before her.
Alaric’s lips curled into a smirk, his dark red eyes flickered with a chilly light and cold murderous intent as he stepped forward, "I can’t believe you hid so well, right by my side, and I didn’t notice.
Ah! I almost forgot, Mason Nightshade’s fiancée is an actress.
How could I forget something so important?"
Aurelia chuckled, "If even you could be deceived, then the award for being a talented actress would have been for nothing."
Alaric’s eyes darkened, stepping closer to Aurelia.
Aurelia backed away a step; Alaric’s gaze made her feel in danger, filled with an intense sense of betrayal and anger.
Aurelia paused for a moment.
Alaric was originally her adversary. If she hadn’t deceived him, it would have been her who ended up dead.
Aurelia felt no guilt over deceiving him.
She just couldn’t understand why this kind of emotion shouldn’t have appeared in Alaric.
While she was undercover, she overheard people discussing that Alaric had also been used as a living experiment. Out of thirty live test subjects, he was the only one who survived.
His dark red eyes were not innate.
They were a side effect of that experiment.
A person with a fate similar to hers.
"Stay," Alaric suddenly said, his voice deep and cold, his dark red eyes fixated on Aurelia, a dim light swirling in them, "Stay and be my comrade, and we can call this even. I can protect you."
After a brief pause, Alaric added, "Regarding Mason Nightshade, I can turn a blind eye and let him go."
Huh? Aurelia raised an eyebrow, "Why should I stay? As things stand now, we’re at an advantage, aren’t we? Your laboratory is destroyed—what can you use to threaten me to stay?
Use Mason Nightshade?
Or use my life?
Perhaps, you really think you can beat me?"
Aurelia let out a light laugh, "Instead of wasting your breath on me, you’d better hurry back to put out the fire. If you’re quick, you might still save a page or two."
Alaric arched one side of his lips, his smile growing increasingly wicked, "Even if this entire lab burns down, what does it matter to me? There are those ants inside to save it. Compared to them, I’m more interested in you."
Alaric’s red tongue briefly licked his lips, his eyes glinting with a bewitching red light, staring at Aurelia like she was an interesting prey, "Everything in there isn’t as intriguing as you."
Suddenly, Alaric charged toward her.
Aurelia was momentarily stunned, but her body reacted instinctively, dodging to the left to avoid Alaric. His right hand reached out to grab her, and out of the corner of her eye, she saw a shadow approaching.
A knife plunged into Alaric’s chest.
Alaric’s hand veered off course, pressing against the wall behind Aurelia. He suddenly leaned in, capturing Aurelia’s lips with his own, a large hand gripping the back of her head to prevent her from retreating. He kissed her forcefully, biting sharply with his teeth, drawing blood.
The knife in his chest pushed in another inch.
Alaric grunted, refusing to let go.
A cold murderous intent flashed through Aurelia’s eyes; she kicked his knee and elbowed his neck.
Alaric let out a pained groan, retreating agilely a few steps.
Aurelia wiped her lips forcefully; her lips, which had broken skin, were now as vivid as blood, her peach blossom eyes cold as a merciless executioner.
Meanwhile, a dense frost of depression swiftly spread from a certain corner!
