Chapter 1018: Chapter 1018: Debts from a Past Life, Repaid in This One
Aurelia put on her hat, its wide brim hiding half of her face as she pushed the shopping cart forward.
The cashier’s attention was fully captured by the TV hanging on the wall. Absentmindedly scanning all the items, they said to Aurelia, "That’ll be 236 yuan in total."
Aurelia pulled out her wallet.
The cashier gave Aurelia a second glance, but the hat was too large to see her face clearly. They didn’t continue to look and heard a colleague shout, "The emperor is here!", making the cashier immediately fixate back on the TV.
Aurelia shook her head helplessly, feeling amused and pleased.
After paying the bill and carrying the things out, her phone suddenly rang.
She looked down to see it was Mason Nightshade.
"Hello, what’s up?"
What’s up? Mason heard the woman’s lukewarm voice, raised an eyebrow. He was thinking about her all the time, didn’t she think about him at all? And she said she wanted to pursue him, but the woman showed no initiative in chasing him.
"Where are you?" Mason asked.
Aurelia placed the items in the trunk, replying, "Just came out of the supermarket. Didn’t you say you wanted some soup?"
"I didn’t say I wanted any!" Mason said with a scowl.
Aurelia chuckled at the tsundere wolf, "Alright, you didn’t want it. I’m the one chasing you, so I’m making it for you voluntarily. Is that okay?"
Mason raised an eyebrow, what did she mean by okay? Seeing she wasn’t getting the hint, he had to give her some guidance.
"I’m driving, need to hang up. I’ll bring the soup over later." Aurelia finished speaking and hung up before Mason could respond.
Mason looked at the disconnected call, feeling conflicted. Is this really being pursued? Why does it feel like he’s the one being proactive? Ah, it must be karma from a past life that he’s repaying in this life.
...
Aurelia finished making the soup and Amanda Fuller arrived.
Upon entering, Amanda smelled a delicious aroma and asked, "Aurelia, what delicious food did you make?"
"Just some soup, want a bowl?" Aurelia served Amanda a bowl.
Amanda saw her pouring it into a thermos box and asked, "Who’s the soup for?"
Aurelia didn’t hide it, "Mason Nightshade."
Amanda immediately gave a "sly, naughty" look, "Something’s going on, my intuition was right! There’s something between you and Nightshade. Right under my nose, too. I need to start thinking of a name for your baby!"
Aurelia shook her head helplessly.
...
Mason was working at a film center, and Aurelia didn’t know how long he’d be busy, so she sent a WeChat message to Gustavo Yates to ask.
Quickly, Mason replied on WeChat: "In the future, you can ask me directly, don’t go to someone else!"
Mason: "Come up to the top floor, someone will bring you in."
Aurelia couldn’t help but laugh, resisting the urge to pat Mason on the head to soothe him, she replied: "Okay."
...
Aurelia took the elevator to the top floor, and Gustavo Yates respectfully led her in. Aurelia suddenly remembered the person she encountered there that day, her brow furrowing unconsciously, feeling unsettled.
"Young Madam?" Gustavo sensed something was off with her.
Aurelia shook her head.
He changed the form of address again.
Gustavo led Aurelia to a room’s entrance and left, letting Aurelia enter by herself.
Mason was sitting on the sofa, flipping through a document, his long legs crossed, shirt buttoned meticulously, and brow lightly furrowed, exuding a quiet intensity and wildness.
The person sitting next to him didn’t dare to breathe loudly.
Seemingly sensing someone approaching, Mason looked up to see Aurelia, a hint of gentleness emerged in his eyes, and a trace of a smile appeared on his thin lips, "We’ll discuss the contract later, inform your superiors that there are many points I’m not satisfied with in here."
