Chapter 1829: Chapter 1829: Adorkable Schoolgirl vs. Glamorous Teacher (Part 16)
When she heard that voice, Gu Shengyin’s whole body stiffened.
When she saw the man’s face, Gu Shengyin gave an awkward little laugh. "What a coincidence, Teacher Guan."
Catching a senior catching her bickering with his kid relative on the spot was, indeed, pretty embarrassing.
The corner of Guan Hanting’s mouth lifted slightly. "What a coincidence, Student Chang Yu."
Gu Shengyin smiled, quietly turned back around, and continued to stand in line.
At this moment, the little boy spoke up.
This time he tilted his head up and asked Guan Hanting, "Little Uncle, do you know that pretty sister?"
Gu Shengyin heard the man less than a meter away answer in his low voice, "Yeah, she’s Little Uncle’s student."
The little boy immediately said, "Just now that sister said she could grab ten dolls. I don’t believe her at all!"
Since Guan Hanting had been standing here the whole time, of course he’d heard their conversation.
He glanced sideways at the little girl in front-right who wished she could curl herself into a ball, a hint of amusement flashing in his eyes. "Maybe that sister really is very good at it."
The little boy kept a straight face, solemnly stating his position: "I don’t believe it. You’re so good, Little Uncle, and you’ve never grabbed that many dolls for Zhao Zhao."
Listening to the kid harp on the same point again and again, Gu Shengyin’s competitive streak was definitely triggered.
She turned around, looked at the little boy called Zhao Zhao, and said with an equally serious expression, "Hey, little handsome, have the grown-ups at home taught you not to casually say you can’t do something? And have they taught you that if you’re not absolutely sure, you shouldn’t casually question what other people say?"
For the little boy, this speech was obviously a bit hard to understand.
He blinked in confusion, clearly not knowing how to respond.
In the end, the little guy could only turn his pleading gaze toward the Little Uncle he admired most.
Guan Hanting had originally been standing off to the side enjoying the show, but when he received the little guy’s look for help, he gave a light cough and pressed down the smile tugging at his lips.
He said, "Zhao Zhao, your sister is right. You can’t just go around doubting people outside. That’s very impolite."
Clearly, Guan Hanting held a very high status in the little boy’s heart.
Gu Shengyin watched as, after Guan Hanting said that, the little boy’s mouth scrunched up in grievance.
But he still obediently said "sorry" to Gu Shengyin.
Those big eyes of his were watery, filled with tears that were about to fall yet wouldn’t, and looking at him almost melted Gu Shengyin’s heart.
She hurriedly half-squatted down and coaxed him in a soft voice, "So our little handsome is called Zhao Zhao, huh? Don’t cry, Zhao Zhao. How about later this big sister goes and grabs some dolls for you to play with, okay?"
But clearly, the little boy was a man of principle and would not be easily conquered by sugar-coated bullets.
He spoke with great backbone. "I have my Little Uncle. Little Uncle will grab lots and lots of dolls for me."
Gu Shengyin lifted her head for a glance at Guan Hanting, and it was really hard to picture this man standing in front of a claw machine with a stern face, operating it like he was working on some academic research.
Just imagining that scene made her burst out laughing.
Right then, the two girls in front of Gu Shengyin left looking frustrated. Clearly, they hadn’t had much luck either.
Gu Shengyin winked at the little boy. "Watch carefully and see if I’m just bragging. I’m definitely getting ten."
She put extra emphasis on that last sentence, as if she were stressing something important.
