Chapter 68: A Journey To The West (3)
SHK!!!!!
SHK!!!!!
When Akasha and Melvin appeared, it was much as the Dean and the Elders had mentioned. The Ancestors of the Academy of Revelations were in the middle of a ritual.
But before them, it looked less like a ritual and more like outright sacrifice.
The underground cavern was a nightmarish landscape of blood and death.
Rivers of thick, dark crimson flowed across the stone floor, pooling in deep depressions and staining the ancient runes carved into the walls.
Torches flickered weakly along the walls, their light reflecting off the glossy, wet surfaces of the blood lakes, casting long, grotesque shadows that danced like dying spirits.
The Ancestors — ten powerful beings between Tier 15 and 18 — were killing themselves in a horrifying display of self-sacrifice.
Some had already collapsed, their bodies drained and lifeless, their once-mighty auras reduced to faint, dying embers.
Others were still in the process, plunging blades into their own chests or throats, their faces twisted in agony and grim resolve as they offered their power, their ranks, and their very existence to the last standing figure at the end of the blood rivers.
Akasha and Melvin floated quietly in the air, lingering just behind the Dean and the last of the Elders.
"What are you all up to this time?" Akasha muttered, taking in the gruesome scene before him.
From what he’d learned about this world, the Academy of Revelations had always been prone to stirring up chaos—but that reputation had only truly become their trademark over the past 50,000 years.
Coincidentally, that was the same time the Von’El titans were cast into exile.
While Akasha remained unfazed by the sacrificial ritual unfolding, Melvin’s breath hitched in his throat.
He had seen the aftermath of Akasha’s passage through the halls, but nothing had prepared him for the madness of what lay before him now.
His vision wavered as the cavern stretched out in front of him, where ancient stone and ritual markings were drowned beneath the consequences of desperation.
The air felt thick, almost suffocating, as if the cavern itself recoiled from what the Ancestors were doing.
Badump!
Melvin’s fingers curled against his palms, nails digging into skin as he fought the instinct to look away.
His heartbeat thudded in his ears, loud enough to drown out the distant chanting and the crackling torches.
He swallowed hard, throat tight, eyes wide and unblinking as he tried to steady himself.
Even as he was technically in Dream Land, where everything was softened and tinted in violet haze, the sheer wrongness of the scene pressed against him like a mountain.
And.... Akasha didn’t look back at him.
He didn’t need to.
Melvin’s reaction was obvious — the tremor in his breath, the stiffness in the space behind him, the way his aura flickered with barely contained shock.
But Akasha’s focus remained fixed on the ritual ahead, on the Ancestors, on the rising power, and how he planned to solve it all.
-----
The Dean’s face was pale with shock, his sharp eyes wide as he stared at the carnage unfolding before him.
The other Elders were no better — some trembling, others frozen in disbelief.
While they knew there was a Plan B and that a ritual was underway, they could never have imagined that the very Ancestors they had hoped to avoid relying on until the final showdown were, in fact, killing themselves.
Akasha quickly scanned the scene, his gaze locking onto the only Ancestor still standing at the far end of the blood rivers.

Hidden Info -
The Youngest Ancestor of Revelations had been secretly weakened since the War of Von’El.
During that conflict, he suffered a metaphysical wound that never healed — a tear in the connection to his star that slowly drained his cultivation, divinity, and bloodline strength over the next fifty thousand years.
Because of this injury, his Origin Devouring Star became unstable.
That instability made him unknowingly compatible with an external devouring entity.
The Child of Consumption — a being from the Pantheon of Endless Hunger — detected the weakened Devouring Star and quietly marked the Ancestor as one of its many vessels across different worlds.

"Come again, what... are beings from outside already on Kalpa?" Akasha wondered as he scanned the status.
"The Child of Consumption... and one of many?"
The thought made him feel like things were getting more and more dangerous by the moment.
And to top it off, seeing that this Ancestor—or vessel—basically had a second life didn’t make things any better.
HUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!
In that moment, as Akasha’s mind raced, he witnessed something utterly absurd unfold before his eyes.
The Ancestor absorbed everything—blood, power, even the ranks of his fallen kin—without hesitation.
Akasha watched as in a split moment... the Ancestor’s rank skyrocketed from Tier 17 all the way to Tier 19 in real time, his entire form radiating with stolen strength.
"You’ve got to be shitting me..." Akasha muttered, realizing there was no longer any point in planning his next move.

The Dean’s voice cracked as he turned desperately toward the Frog of Revelations.
"What is this?! Explain yourself!"
The frog’s voice was grim and mechanical.
"Dean.... you all have done the Academy of Revelations a disservice... and finally the chaos you love has brought damnation upon us all!"
Then it looked forward.
"This is the only option that remains... And whatever is accelerating the timeline has just—"
Before it could finish, Akasha moved.
SHHHKKK!!!!
In a blur of crimson and shadow, he vanished and reappeared behind the group.
His scythe flashed once — a single, merciless arc.
The heads of the Dean and all the remaining Elders fell from their shoulders in perfect unison, their bodies collapsing into the rivers of blood with wet, heavy thuds.
Blood sprayed across the cavern walls as their divine essence scattered like dying stars.
In the next instant, Akasha disappeared again.
SHHHKKK!!!!
He reappeared before the last standing Ancestor and beheaded him with the same ruthless efficiency before the being could fully adjust to his newly stolen power.
The Ancestor’s head tumbled into the river of blood, his body crumpling lifelessly beside it.
Akasha remained calm, his expression almost indifferent as he created distance, floating back toward Melvin.
His voice was steady and cold.
"Stay back.... things may get a bit out of hand."
