Chapter 23: Status Screen - The Academy of Veils

[A/N: Just a quick reminder—his battle power comes from his bloodlines, giving him +9.

Since they’re the same rank, the Above Origin +8 multiplier doesn’t stack; instead, any bloodline of the same rank after the first adds +1.

He’s still got +2 from his previous battle style, bringing the total to +11, and finally, this Origin’s heart boosts it all the way up to 21.]

---

After fully assimilating the Primordial Origin’s Heart and letting its power settle within him, Akasha pulled up his status.

----

Akasha dismissed the status with a casual wave of his hand and let out a low, satisfied laugh.

"It’s finally time to leave the mountain."

He floated up, plucking a few more glowing white apples from the Golden Apple Tree and placing them into his inventory.

Then, with Luna beside him, they began walking back along the forest tunnel toward the main portion of the peak.

The path was peaceful and beautiful.

Tall, ancient trees formed a natural canopy overhead, their leaves rustling softly in the mountain breeze and casting dappled sunlight across the ground.

Colorful flowers lined the edges of the trail, and small streams trickled alongside them, their gentle bubbling mixing with the distant sound of waterfalls.

The vast, flat expanse of the peak stretched out around them in all its beauty.

Luna took a slow breath as they walked, trying to calm the lingering heat in her body.

She slipped her arm through his, cuffing it gently, and leaned her head on his shoulder.

"Well, how is Yume doing?" she asked softly.

Considering how quickly their rank-ups and evolutions had occurred, she thought it strange that Yume still hadn’t shown herself again.

As they walked on, Akasha closed his eyes briefly, a calm expression on his face.

"She’s still going through a transformation... but it looks like my abilities are working just fine."

As they reached the end of the path, they took off into the skies, soaring gracefully over the mountain peak and heading toward the looming continents below.

The wind rushed past them, cool and invigorating, carrying the fresh scent of the high altitude.

Akasha’s eyes turned toward the Southern Continent—the one closest to them—and he wondered aloud.

"How can the weakest of the five Academies possibly have something so mysterious... an Ancient Ruin connecting to a Pantheon there?"

From the knowledge Luna had shared with him, the rankings of each Academy were clear in his mind.

In order from strongest to weakest, the continent’s Academies were ranked as Central, Northern, Western, Eastern, and finally Southern, the each being home to numerous factions but most renowned for its powerful rulers.

And on the Southern continent the rulers were the Academy of Veils.

Luna let out a soft chuckle as she glided alongside him, her wings catching the light.

"That’s just how the world of power works..." she remarked with a sly, knowing smile. "I’d wager they either have no idea it even exists... or they’ve been searching and just can’t track it down."

Flying was something every being in Pantheos could do at no cost.

As divinity wasn’t truly needed for basic movement like this — nor where they needed for Powers, Skills, Runes, or anything of that nature.

However, if someone decided to fly at full speed, it would cost ten Divinity Points per minute.

----

The two of them soared across the sky, the vast landscape of Kalpa stretching endlessly beneath them.

The rolling hills, dense forests, and winding rivers stretched out far below as they made their way toward the Southern Continent.

Along the journey, Akasha noticed a few peculiar things.

While the rivers they passed were narrow, the larger bodies of water—like oceans or lakes—appeared to be heavily guarded.

’Don’t tell me... the oceans are full of aliens or something?’ he joked, recalling how Luna had claimed that Earth’s myths and legends were real.

The thought made him curious about tales of the seas hiding aliens or mysteries beyond mortal understanding.

Not only that, but he also spotted a massive Dragon Clan territory on the Southern Continent not far from the Academy of Veils.

From the looks of it, the dragons were moving with purpose—gathering in large numbers, as if preparing for something significant.

For now, he decided to keep it to himself, making a mental note not to mention it to Luna just yet.

----

After some time, they began their descent.

Akasha landed barefoot on a stone path, his black baggy pants swaying slightly in the breeze and his white long-sleeved shirt loose against his frame.

His crimson and white hair caught the light as he took in his surroundings.

Luna landed gracefully beside him, dressed like a classy ancient woman.

Her flowing robes were elegant and refined, layered in soft silks of deep purple and white that draped gracefully over her figure.

And before them stood the Academy of Veils.

It was a sprawling complex of dark stone and elegant architecture, half-hidden among misty forests and ancient trees.

There were tall, slender mountains that rose like watchful sentinels, their surfaces carved with shifting, illusory patterns that seemed to change when looked at directly.

Bridges of dark wood and divinity connected different sections of the academy, while soft, colored lanterns floated gently in the air without any visible source of light.

Akasha studied it for a while, his face composed yet undeniably curious.

It wasn’t the grand or imposing sight he’d expected from the more prestigious academies. Instead, it gave off a shrewd, almost sly air—like it was already sizing him up in return.

Akasha glanced at Luna as they stood before the grand entrance of the Academy of Veils.

"So, are you planning to conceal yourself or anything?" he asked, noticing how she seemed to be simply tagging along without any care.

Luna shook her head with a smile.

"Why should I do that?" she asked with a small smile. "No one will be able to perceive me anyways."

Akasha nodded and headed toward the entrance.

"Why won’t anyone else be able to see you?" he asked, fully aware he had no trouble admiring her striking beauty.

Before gaining his Eyes of Divine Origin, he remembered that although she appeared clear to him, there had been faint blurs at the edges and slight imperfections, as if she wasn’t meant to be visible to him.

Luna walked beside him, her arm still linked with his.

"Love... I already told you," She said, having made it clear during his training about the most obvious changes that came with ranking up.

In Pantheos, advancing in rank wasn’t just about gaining more power—it was a transformation in existence itself.

From the moment one moved beyond the first major rank, they became a fourth-dimensional being, and with each major leap, their dimensionality only grew.

Hearing this, Akasha smiled wryly as the memories began to flood back.

"Right..." he muttered, realizing he had just become a Tenth Dimensional being, while Luna stood at the Fifteenth.

’It makes sense... knowing we have to evolve with every major rank,’ he thought to himself as they continued their slow approach toward the entrance.

Luna chuckled softly. "If we weren’t so deeply connected, not even you would be able to see me."

Akasha nodded with a smile, unconcerned now that his Battle Output was so high and he possessed his Divine Eyes.

"Well, with my eyes... I’m sure I could see you regardless, and even my raw power should surpass yours, no?" he remarked, never having truly considered appraising her.

"Pfft, you wish..." Luna laughed.

Before Akasha could reply, arching a brow as he prepared to scan her, they found themselves standing before a man seated behind a desk.
