Chapter 149: Chapter 89: Jiang Lan, You’ve Really Hidden Yourself Well; The Ten Thousand Spirits Blood Puppet Is Formed

"The news about the Purple Mist True Monarch’s inheritance and opportunity emerging was probably also spread by them..."

The disciples of the Jasper Pool Sect couldn’t hide the unease and nervousness on their faces when they heard this.

"The disciples from the other Immortal Sect Influences have probably been scattered as well. It’s not safe to travel alone here. We should stick together," Zhao Dieyi said.

Ling Zhuyun nodded. After taking a headcount of the disciples, she discovered that, as she’d feared, several of her junior sisters were missing.

She sighed inwardly, worried that something had happened to them. With a flick of her fair wrist, a sparkling, crystalline Jade Plate appeared in her hand. However, the Jade Plate was covered by an embroidered handkerchief, obscuring what was inside.

"This is a Blood Jade Crystal. I obtained it by killing a Demon Beast that was about to break through to the Sixth Realm. I later completed its Refinement. It contains a powerful force, enough to counter any cultivator below the Fifth Realm..."

"I’m going to find our missing sisters. You all keep this for self-defense, to handle any unexpected situations."

She glanced at the female disciples present, then handed the Jade Plate to Chu Chan.

Chu Chan looked slightly stunned but reached out and took it.

She lifted the embroidered handkerchief. A fist-sized, translucent crystal, like a piece of Blood Jade, was revealed.

Sealed within was a single drop of blood so vividly red it seemed about to drip. It shimmered with a golden light and contained an immense Life Force. Faintly, it felt as though a powerful Demon Beast was about to reawaken.

The other disciples couldn’t help but reveal looks of awe and envy. To think the Saintess would entrust such a precious item to Chu Chan.

Ling Zhuyun didn’t say anything more. After giving the item to Chu Chan, she left alone, not staying with the rest of the Jasper Pool Sect disciples.

They had strength in numbers. Their combined power was considerable, and they had ways to protect themselves.

The few missing sisters, however, weren’t so fortunate. As their leading senior sister, it would be inexcusable if she let them die here.

’The Saintess really is kind and benevolent,’ Chu Chan thought. ’What a pity she misjudged me.’

Chu Chan’s gaze was dark. Ling Zhuyun’s action clearly indicated she had seen Chu Chan’s current strength and wanted her to protect their fellow disciples.

’But many of the disciples right in front of me were among those who bullied me back then. And she wants me to repay cruelty with kindness? Heh...’

Not to mention Chen Ning was right beside her, wanting to see her dead.

"Sisters, if you trust me, then come with me. I actually obtained a map of this place from Young Master Jiang..."

Chu Chan put away the Jade Plate. She took a deep breath, her expression calm, and took the initiative to speak.

Her words stunned the other disciples. Even Chen Ning frowned, not understanding what she was up to.

"You probably don’t know this, sisters, but my Chu Family’s ancestors actually had a deep connection with the Purple Mist True Monarch. This is one of the reasons Young Master Jiang brought me along."

Chu Chan continued, dropping a bombshell.

This was a story she had prepared long ago. If she didn’t lure Chen Ning and the others to the cavern residence, she wouldn’t be able to use the Array Pattern Restrictions inside against them.

"Senior Sister Chen Ning, I know you’ve held a grudge against me and thought poorly of me in the past, but I have no intention of offending you further. So, to show my sincerity, I am willing to tell you the location of the Purple Mist True Monarch’s inheritance and opportunity, as well as the secrets of this place."

She looked at Chen Ning, her tone sincere, and dropped another incredibly shocking piece of news.

All the Jasper Pool Sect disciples stared at her, shaken and in disbelief.

But Chu Chan seemed not to notice their gazes, completely unconcerned.

Chen Ning never would have imagined that Chu Chan would say something like this at a time like this.

She was stunned for a long moment before she let out a cold, mocking laugh.

Her expression was a mixture of teasing and ridicule. She walked forward and patted Chu Chan’s fair, beautiful cheek.

"Heh heh, who knew you were so flexible, Junior Sister? But do you take me for a fool? If I let you go, you’ll just run off, find Young Master Jiang, get on his good side, and then you’ll be able to crush me under your heel."

Chen Ning sneered. She was no fool. For Chu Chan to say this now meant she was scared—scared to death. That’s why she was taking the initiative, begging for forgiveness. After all, Chen Ning had plenty of experts by her side now. No matter how capable Chu Chan was, she would still suffer a bitter defeat.

It was, admittedly, a smart person’s choice.

"You don’t have to worry, Senior Sister Chen Ning. I can swear an oath on my Heart Demon that after we leave this place, I will no longer resent you, let alone seek revenge," Chu Chan said calmly and earnestly.

Just then, an old woman from behind Chen Ning came forward and whispered something in her ear.

"True. Compared to this petty grudge, the Purple Mist True Monarch’s inheritance and opportunity are far more important."

She narrowed her eyes, her gaze on Chu Chan like she was looking at a dead person.

But soon, her expression broke into a smile. She took Chu Chan’s hand and said in a warm, gentle voice, "However, as they say, it is better to resolve enmity than to create it. Since Junior Sister Chu Chan is willing to bury the hatchet, that’s wonderful. As long as you don’t deceive me and help my Chen Family obtain the Purple Mist True Monarch’s inheritance and opportunity..."

"...then from now on, you will be a guest of my Chen Family."

At this, Chu Chan seemed to let out a sigh of relief. She smiled and said, "Rest assured, Senior Sister Chen Ning. I know what to do. I definitely won’t deceive you."

Witnessing this scene, none of the other Jasper Pool Sect disciples, including Zhao Dieyi, said a word. They could only pretend they hadn’t seen a thing.

The Beiming Chen Family behind Chen Ning was no ordinary family; its foundation and power were on par with some of the great sects.

With Ling Zhuyun gone, it was only natural that Chen Ning would take the lead.
