Chapter 108: Chapter 80: My Sister Must Have Been Forced, The Siblings Finally Reunite

"She’s with the young master of the Prime Minister’s Mansion every day."

Chu Yun’s head was still ringing. The image of her gentle, beautiful figure surfaced in his mind, and he subconsciously clenched his fists.

"If you don’t believe me, you can go and ask your sister yourself when the time comes. I’m just helping her out by coming to get you," Chen Ning continued.

Chu Yun’s expression turned wooden, and his mouth felt dry. After a moment, he said in a muffled voice, "Then wait for me. I’m going to bring my companion along..."

With that, he turned to go back and get his Cyan Bull.

Hearing this, Chen Ning’s expression changed slightly. ’Did I say something wrong?’ she thought, worried she had aroused Chu Yun’s suspicion. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"Young man..."

Seeing this, the middle-aged man beside her immediately stepped forward and grabbed Chu Yun’s arm.

Chu Yun was confused.

"Chen Ning, what do you think you’re doing?"

Just then, a clear, cold snort echoed from not far away.

On a secluded path through the bamboo forest, a White Jade Imperial Chariot, patterned with clouds and carried by several attendants, came into view.

The curtain of the Jade Carriage was drawn back by a pair of slender, jade-white hands, revealing a flawless, jade-like face with a hint of coldness. It was Chu Chan.

"Sister..."

Chu Yun froze when he saw this, but he reacted quickly. With a jolt of his arm, a powerful force erupted, and he broke free from the middle-aged man’s grasp, retreating backward.

The middle-aged man was also taken aback, not expecting Chu Yun to be able to break free from his grip.

"Chu Chan..."

Chen Ning hadn’t expected Chu Chan to show up at this exact moment and ruin her plan.

Still, she maintained a cold, indifferent expression, acting as if she wasn’t concerned.

With so many experts from the Chen Family present, she naturally didn’t need to worry about Chu Chan making a move against her.

"Senior Sister Chen Ning, what a clever move. When you couldn’t deal with me, you decided to target my younger brother instead." Chu Chan’s voice was light as she regained her composure.

She had vaguely suspected that Chen Ning wouldn’t let things go and would eventually retaliate. That was why, after selecting suitable handmaidens and subordinates, she had rushed to Purple Mist Mountain without delay.

And she had arrived just in time to witness this scene.

A chill colder than ever before crept into Chu Chan’s heart. Though she had long ago decided to get her revenge on Chen Ning one day, her hatred and killing intent had never been this intense.

"Junior Sister Chu Chan, you jest. I was just thinking that you’ve been too busy to get away, so I thought I’d help bring your brother to you for a reunion."

"Why are you getting angry?"

Chen Ning just smiled dismissively. Ignoring Chu Chan’s frosty expression, she waved her hand and led the experts of the Beiming Chen Family away. She was remarkably poised and composed, showing no sign of embarrassment or shame at having her scheme exposed.

Chu Chan’s expression was icy, and she said nothing, her jade-like hands clenched tightly.

She knew that her own power was still too weak. Dealing with Chen Ning, let alone the Chen Family backing her, was practically impossible.

Not unless she could win more favor and support from Jiang Lan.

"Mistress, should we...?"

A woman beside her spoke, a cold light in her eyes, but Chu Chan stopped her with a wave of her hand.

These handmaidens and subordinates were all individuals she had hand-picked from the Ten Thousand Spirits Pavilion. Each one was a valuable asset with considerable strength and talent.

’It’s not worth fighting Chen Ning to the death under these circumstances,’ she thought. ’There will be plenty of opportunities in the future.’

Watching this unfold, Chu Yun felt a lingering fear. He’d had no idea that Chen Ning was his sister’s rival and had been trying to use him to threaten her.

"Sister..."

Only after Chen Ning and her group had left did he hurry over to her, a genuine smile on his face.

A suspicious look crossed Chu Chan’s face. She had already noticed that her younger brother seemed to have changed a great deal. Before, his expression had never been so animated; he had always seemed rather dull.

"It’s like this..."

Chu Yun understood his sister’s confusion. He immediately led Chu Chan to a secluded spot and, after making sure no one was around, told her everything that had happened over the past while.

He only omitted the parts about the Purple Mist True Monarch and Cyan Ox Dahuang.

After hearing his story, Chu Chan couldn’t calm her turbulent emotions for a long time, her jade-like hands clenched tightly.

"Those fellow disciples of yours... they deserve to die. To think I gave them so many Spirit Stones to look after you."

"And that Zixia Daoist is no good either, letting his Disciples run rampant. I thought Fu had died of old age... I never imagined he was killed by those Disciples..."

Chu Chan’s face was cold, her heart filled with both sorrow and helplessness.

Her brother used to be slow-witted. He would get bullied and not even know to tell her.

But things were different now. It seemed that fortune was finally beginning to smile upon them.

"I’ll get revenge for you for all of this," Chu Chan said softly.

Chu Yun nodded, but he hesitated, wanting to say more. He felt that his sister now was vastly different from the gentle-as-water girl he remembered. The change was so great that he felt a faint sense of unfamiliarity, even fear.

’His sister must have suffered a lot of bullying over the years, too.’ Thinking of this, he clenched his fists again.

As if she knew what he was thinking, Chu Chan found a clean, green stone nearby and sat down casually.

"You must have heard some things from Chen Ning just now. It’s true. I have given myself to the young master of the Prime Minister’s Mansion, Jiang Lan. I am his woman..."

Even though Chu Yun still found it hard to believe.

But to hear her say it so casually, right from her own mouth, still made his face turn pale. He felt as if something inside him had been lost.

He lowered his head, his hands clenched into tight fists as he hated his own weakness and powerlessness.
