Chapter 409: Chapter 105: Subjugation
Among the Green Ghost Race, the Holy Tree serves as the cornerstone of their clan, but the other four major ghost clans naturally also have their trump cards.
...Thick gray-white breath, watched by a large number of members from the Ghost Race and the Five Great Ghost Kings, came into contact with the light green barrier.
Beneath the astonished gazes of the Five Great Ghost Kings, who shrank their pupils slightly in shock, the light green barrier resisted the gray-white breath for only a moment before a large hole was melted through it.
"Activate the Holy Artifacts!" The Purple Demon Ghost King had barely finished speaking before it and the Frost Ghost King, Red Ghost King, and White Ghost King promptly used their respective clan’s sacred artifacts.
The Purple Demon Ghost King took out a transparent stone, the Frost Ghost King a crystalline ice, the Red Ghost King a large piece of pulsing red flesh, and the White Ghost King a statue.
The four Ghost Kings almost simultaneously infused their energies into their clan’s sacred artifacts, and soon, four thick energy beams of different attributes shot towards the Holy Tree.
With the four energies’ support, the Holy Tree trembled, releasing an aura several times more terrifying than before. The large hole, melted by the Void Breath, quickly healed, blocking the gray-white Void Breath outside.
Udi watched this with some surprise.
Its gaze swept over the four strange items held by the Ghost Kings, and its dragon eyes narrowed.
Legendary items?
No, not quite.
They seem more like oddities.

Oddities refer to objects with immense power, but lacking sentience and legendary traits.
"This world, it seems, was discovered by Star Realm beings long ago," Udi thought to itself.
With four oddities and a Holy Tree linked to the Ancient Life Tree, this was more than enough to illustrate the point.
As Udi pondered, below, the Five Ghost Kings saw that it had finally ceased its breath attack, their faces loosening slightly with newfound confidence, and their figures flashed as they approached.
Now, all that separated them from the Black Dragon Lord was a seemingly thin green membrane.
"Honorable Black Dragon power, we wish to communicate with you." The Purple Demon Ghost King spoke, unwilling to provoke too much conflict with this formidable Black Dragon.
After all, it knew that the best option for the Five Great Ghost Clans now was to submit under the Black Dragon Lord’s command.
The reason for defending against the Black Dragon with the Holy Tree and Holy Artifacts was twofold: one, they were unsure of the Black Dragon’s intentions, whether good or bad, and needed to create a ’platform’ on which to communicate. This ’platform’ was the barrier.
Two, they wished to showcase the depths of the Five Great Ghost Clans’ resources. Even in submission, there’s a difference between powerless submission and negotiating submission — the treatment would surely differ.
"Communicate?" Udi laughed and mocked,
"Do you really think this green membrane can stop me?"
Sensing the Black Dragon Lord’s disregard and scorn, the other four Ghost Kings were somewhat annoyed and angry, but the Purple Demon Ghost King was taken aback.
Its psychic superpower vaguely suggested that the Black Dragon Lord was not lying.
Outside the barrier, Udi looked at the varying expressions of the Five Ghost Kings and shook its head slightly, deciding to stop toying with them.
Void Form—
In an instant, the massive Black Dragon transformed into a gray-white, cold Void Dragon.
Seeing the Black Dragon’s appearance change, the Purple Demon Ghost King’s sense of foreboding intensified.
Void Travel—
The transformed Void Dragon Udi, its massive dragon body vanished from sight.
In the next moment, amidst the chilling dread of the Five Ghost Kings, the gray-white Void Dragon appeared behind them.
Yet, the Void Dragon did not seize the opportunity to kill them all but instead mocked,
"This barrier is useless against me."

The barrier created by the Holy Tree not only protected against external attacks but also had the capability of space-sealing, meaning abilities like Any Gate and Teleportation Skill could not bypass the barrier to directly enter the Holy Tree’s domain.
However, Void Travel is different.
The essence of Void Travel is becoming one with the space itself.
In contrast, Any Gate and Teleportation Skill, operate on magical principles that manipulate space.
Comparatively, it’s like one needing a key to unlock a door to enter a home, whereas the other ignores the door’s function entirely and phases through the wall to enter, rendering the ’wall’ and ’door’ akin to air.
"I offer you five a chance to submit to me, three..." Udi directly got to the point, starting a countdown, seeing the Five Ghost Kings cowed by it.
Currently, Udi craved subordinates, so even though it was greatly tempted to devour them to increase its Mutated Talent level, it resisted the urge.
Raising the level of some mutated talents wouldn’t significantly boost strength, whereas converting them all with Void Power into a Void Army means eventually they would do as it wishes regardless.
"We agree to submit!"
The countdown hadn’t even reached two when the Purple Demon Ghost King quickly responded.
This caught the other four Ghost Kings, who were still hesitating, off guard.
But they soon reacted, swiftly bending their bodies and lowering their heads, indicating their willingness to submit alongside the Purple Demon Ghost King.
Udi regarded them with some surprise, not expecting them to be so mindful of the situation.
Such realization was indeed convenient.
Following this, Udi planted Void Seeds in each of the Five Ghost Kings, then instructed them to gather all Legendary Ghostmen and Master-level Ghosts from their clans to whom Udi also planted the Void Seeds.
Thus, the Five Great Ghost Clans wholly submitted, and the Ghost Race Plane came under Udi’s dominion.
....
"Five Legendary Tier Two Ghostmen, forty-six Legendary Tier One Ghostmen, eleven thousand three hundred fifty-two Master-level Ghostmen."
Within a palace in the Holy Tree, the Black Dragon Lord took stock of the Ghostmen who had just had Void Seeds planted and couldn’t help but be astonished.
The quantity of Legendary Ghostmen was as expected.
After all, Black Smoke City also dispatched dozens of Legendary Demons.
But Udi didn’t anticipate that together, the Five Great Ghost Clans totaled over ten thousand Master-level Ghostmen.

On the Tal Main Continent, a Human Duchy typically has fewer than ten Master-level Powerhouses.
For example, Kas Duchy, including Thorn Duke, had only six publicly acknowledged Master-level Powerhouses. Even with hidden reserves, it likely didn’t exceed ten, and Kas Duchy was considered quite strong among Human Duchies in Tal.
However, among Human Kingdoms, take the Yalbit Kingdom as an example. The combined Master-level powerhouses from commoners, noble circle, and the royal family might only reach a hundred.
The Five Great Ghost Clans’ eleven thousand plus Master-level Ghostmen would almost rival the advanced forces of a hundred Yalbit Kingdoms or over a thousand Kas Duchies at the Master level.
Of course, the Yalbit Kingdom is a decaying kingdom without even a single Legendary Powerhouse. A vigorous Human Kingdom, with a population exceeding one billion and established professional systems, could still give rise to hundreds of Master-level Powerhouses.
"In return... Master, it’s after years of bloody warfare that we’ve lost nearly a thousand Master-level Ghostmen; otherwise, during our prime, the five great ghost clans boasted over twelve thousand." The Purple Demon Ghost King respectfully answered, yet clearly its long-standing position wasn’t naturally apt at addressing others so deferentially as ’Master’.
"I see." Udi nodded its dragon head, feeling quite pleased.
Although at this scale, Master-level prowess meant little to it.
However, once transformed into Void Followers, they wouldn’t just be a formidable Undead Legion; at crucial moments, Udi could absorb their power, augmenting its own power.
With over ten thousand at the Master level, even if most were just Level 15-16, Udi could definitely reach Legendary Fourth Rank.
Adding to that transformation willed with masses of low-level Void Followers, and Legendary Void Followers... combining all forces, Udi’s power could likely reach Legendary Fifth Rank.
"Next, I simply need some time to develop, and I can touch upon the highest power Tal can contain." Udi murmured to itself, dragon eyes glinting.
