The commotion was naturally related to the blood red stone that I had stolen, it was just that I didn't expect them to find out about it so soon.
After all, this was something that wasn't out in the open or anything.
This was something that had been stored on the shelves of one of the storage rooms.
For them to notice that this blood red stone was gone so soon clearly meant that there was something special about this blood red stone.
It was just that it was already too late for them to do anything.
Even if they wanted to do something, we were already out of there as most of the Abyss Demons had gone to see what the commotion was. Even if they came searching for us after that, we had already left since we knew it was dangerous to remain in this place any longer.
When we came out of the cave, Yun Tian looked at me as if he was wondering what this blood red stone was.
He wasn't the only one that was looking at me like this, everyone could tell that the commotion had been caused by this blood red stone.
However, I just said, "This isn't the time for this."
They quickly came back to their senses when they heard this and nodded in agreement before we all rushed back to the safe zone. With the speed that we moved at, there was just no way that the Abyss Demons would be able to catch up to us.
Even if we revealed ourselves to the Abyss Demons that were already out here, it didn't matter since they wouldn't be able to stop us with the power that we possessed.
Once we were back in the safe zone, that was when I took out the blood red stone again.
Naturally they all looked at me as if they were waiting for me to give them an answer. After all, I was the one that had picked up this blood red stone in the end and insisted on going for it.
But even if they looked at me like this, it wasn't as if I had an answer for them.
In the first place, I had trusted the instincts of the Astral White Tiger.
That didn't mean that I knew what this blood red stone was.
Now that we had some time, I took a closer look at this blood red stone.
There was this ominous feeling that came from this blood red stone as I looked at it.
The more that I looked at it, the more that it felt like there was something that might jump out to attack us. However, it didn't seem like there was a reaction from this blood red stone even though we were gathered around it like this.
It seemed like it was just an inert piece of stone.
Though there was still that ominous aura that was draped around this blood red stone.
It was clear that this blood red stone was anything but normal.
After looking at it for a bit, everyone seemed to turn to look at me. It was as if they were expecting something from me with how they looked at me.
In the end, all I could do was reveal a bitter smile and say, "I don't know what this thing is either."
No one was surprised hearing this, but I could see the traces of disappointment that were in their eyes. It seemed like they were already used to me surprising them with things that they didn't expect.
Still, I put the blood red stone away and said, "We need to go back and warn them. Otherwise it'll be too late."
Yun Tian nodded in agreement to this.
We didn't waste any more time after this and headed back to the camp.
Though when we arrived, we found that things weren't as simple as we thought it would be.
It seemed like the captains had already discovered something with how the high ranking members were gathered.
Since they were gathering high ranking members, it was only natural that we were called in as well.
It turned out that what they had discovered wasβ¦
"We've found a nest of Abyss Demons. It seems like they're preparing for another attack."
Yun Tian and I immediately revealed frowns when we heard this.
After all, the information that we had was much more important than this. At the same time, it was likely that the information that we had was the cause for them discovering this camp.
That meant that this camp was not simple at all.
"We will be sending a group to scout out the camp and exterminate it."
Yun Tian and I couldn't help knitting our brows even more when we heard this.
After all, this was the worst thing that we could do at this time.
With the Abyss Demons planning to dig under our camp like that, leaving our camp with fewer guards was really the worst thing that we could do.
There was a part of me that even wondered if one of the captains was working with the Abyss Demons. After all, the timing of all of this really seemed like it lined up perfectlyβ¦
It was as if one of the captains was trying to draw our forces away from the camp.
Though I tossed that thought out since that didn't matter right now.
Even if that was the case, the only thing that mattered right now was figuring out how to stop them from sending people.
However, it looked like it would be quite hard.
With the expressions that were on everyone's faces, it really seemed like they were getting ready to launch this attack. It seemed like they wanted to be the ones that led the way since they thought that they would be able to earn quite a bit of merit like this.
"We need to stop this." I said in a heavy voice to Yun Tian.
He just nodded without saying anything.
