Chapter 1523: Chapter 216 - Samui (2)

But despite all that effort, absolutely nothing was happening.

My life force wasn’t a pond.

My life force wasn’t a lake.

My life force wasn’t even a sea.

My life force was an ocean.

A ridiculous, absurd, unfairly enormous ocean.

She had absolutely no idea what she’d thrown herself against.

"Do you really think a hundred years would be enough?" I asked.

She didn’t give me any sort of answer.

"I don’t think even a thousand years would be enough."

"You heard him, you whore," Ayuru said proudly. "Master, this woman had absolutely no idea who she was dealing with."

"Shut up!"

Samui sounded genuinely angry now.

"You are incredibly irritating."

"I’m simply telling the truth."

"You were tamed by a human!"

"And what exactly is wrong with that?"

"You have no dignity whatsoever!"

Ayuru paused briefly.

Then she laughed.

"That’s a funny thing to hear from someone who can’t even drain Master."

The silence that followed was honestly impressive.

"You lost the moment Master touched you," Ayuru continued mercilessly. "Besides, isn’t this actually a good thing?"

"What?"

"There isn’t anyone else who can wield us like Master can. If you want to be wielded, touched, and used properly, then all you have to do is stay with Master. You can drink as much life force as you want, and he still won’t even budge."

Another silence followed.

That silence lasted much longer than the previous one.

I had the distinct feeling that Ayuru had landed a critical hit.

A few moments later, Samui suddenly increased the amount of life force she was trying to drain from me.

The sensation became stronger.

It wasn’t painful.

It wasn’t dangerous.

It was simply annoying.

The experience felt like being bitten by a mosquito that somehow possessed a doctoral degree in persistence.

If an ordinary person had picked her up, they would’ve died immediately.

Unfortunately for Samui, I wasn’t an ordinary person.

"You think this is all I’m capable of?" she demanded.

"Maybe."

"I will drain you dry!"

"Sure."

"I mean it!"

"I believe that you believe it."

"You sound unconvinced!"

"That’s because I am."

At that point, I was becoming increasingly convinced that she was more frustrated than dangerous.

Meanwhile, Foriel continued staring at me.

Initially, she’d looked genuinely worried.

That reaction was perfectly understandable.

From her perspective, I’d just picked up a sword capable of instantly killing almost anyone.

The fact that I was still standing there casually holding it while arguing with it inside my head was probably not what she’d expected.

As the seconds passed, however, her expression gradually changed.

The fear disappeared.

The worry vanished shortly afterward.

Eventually, she smiled.

It was a genuine smile.

"It seems you’ve gotten the hang of it," she said.

"I guess so."

"I honestly didn’t think you’d succeed."

"That’s extremely reassuring."

She laughed nervously.

"I genuinely thought you were going to die."

"Well," I said while looking down at Samui, "I don’t think taming her is going to be easy. Still, I think I’ll be able to use her against Satania."

That was the truth.

Although Samui was trying her absolute best to kill me, the amount of power she was giving me in return was absurd.

Honestly, it felt like everything Ayuru had already given me had doubled.

My body felt lighter.

My body also felt stronger.

My body felt faster as well.

More importantly, my body felt overwhelmingly powerful.

"Hahaha..."

I laughed.

I genuinely couldn’t help myself.

Even without transforming into my dragon form, I felt absurdly strong.

I felt strong enough that I could honestly imagine defeating Satania.

"You’re laughing," Foriel observed.

"Maybe I am."

"As I thought."

She smiled again.

"Giving you that sword was the right decision."

I understood exactly what she meant.

Originally, she’d intended to wield Samui herself.

She wanted revenge.

She wanted to kill Satania.

Unfortunately, if she’d tried to wield Samui herself, she would’ve died.

She probably would’ve died immediately.

Giving the sword to me had changed everything.

Now she had a chance.

A real chance.

She could kill Satania.

She could accomplish it through me.

After that, I held both Ayuru and Samui.

"Master," Ayuru asked softly, "may I?"

"Go ahead."

The moment I gave permission, Ayuru transformed.

A beautiful woman appeared before us.

She had black hair.

She had red eyes.

She possessed a face that aligned so perfectly with my preferences that it almost felt unfair.

Actually, calling it unfair was completely accurate.

She had literally shaped herself according to my desires.

"H-How?"

Samui sounded genuinely horrified.

"How can you do something like that?"

"It’s because I’m with Master," Ayuru replied proudly. "You have no chance of becoming like this because you’re opposing him."

"You’re insane!"

Samui sounded genuinely offended.

"What do you mean I’m opposing him? I’m doing exactly what a cursed sword is supposed to do!"

"And what exactly is that?"

"Draining the life force of the wielder until they die!"

She paused.

"You’re the strange one! Why would you allow yourself to be tamed?"

"Master tamed me."

Ayuru smiled.

"And because of that, I’m happier than I’ve ever been."

Samui fell silent.

"Before meeting Master," Ayuru continued, "I only existed to consume people."

Her smile softened.

"Now I have someone who stays with me."

Another silence followed.

"I’m happy."

The atmosphere became awkward.

At least, it became awkward for Samui.

"You can’t be serious," she muttered.

"Why not?"

"You’re a cursed sword."

"And?"

"Why would a cursed sword..."

She stopped speaking.

Then her tone suddenly changed.

"Wait."

I blinked again.

"This mana."

Another pause followed.

"You’re not normal."

I didn’t answer.

"Are you a Great One?"

Once again, I remained silent.

"I don’t think you’re a Great One."

She sounded even more confused.

"You don’t feel like one."

She hesitated.

"Then what exactly are you?"

I smiled.

Then I ignored the question entirely.

"Samui."

"What?"

"Become my sword."

She sounded offended immediately.

"Who do you think you are?"

"The person currently holding you."

An uncomfortable silence followed.

"If you become my sword," I continued, "I’ll make sure you’re used properly."

She remained silent.

"And I’ll allow you to feed on as much life force as you want."

She became very quiet.

"That is," I added with a smile, "assuming you’re willing to become my sword."
