Chapter 1508: Chapter 213 - Leon Vs. Pride (6)
I narrowed my eyes as I continued watching.
They were still evenly matched after all this time.
That was perhaps the most unbelievable part of everything.
Three entire days had passed, yet neither side had managed to establish a decisive advantage.
There had been moments when Leon pushed forward aggressively.
There had been moments when Lucielle forced him back instead.
Yet every single time one of them appeared to gain momentum, the other immediately responded.
The balance never truly broke apart.
Instead, it continued shifting back and forth.
The entire fight had become a constant struggle between two forces refusing to yield.
Far above the battlefield, Lucielle appeared once more.
Her dark wings stretched behind her majestically.
Dark mana gathered around her body in enormous quantities.
The surrounding air began to distort visibly.
Space itself seemed unable to remain completely stable around her presence.
Across from her stood Leon with Ayuru firmly in hand.
Silver mana flowed around his body continuously.
The pressure radiating from him had become so intense that even from this distance, I could still feel it clearly.
For several long seconds, neither of them moved.
The battlefield became strangely quiet during that brief pause.
Then Lucielle finally spoke.
"You’ve exceeded my expectations."
Her voice carried clearly across the battlefield despite the immense distance.
Leon casually rolled his shoulders.
"I hear that more often than you’d think."
Lucielle’s expression remained completely unchanged.
"Most people who say that are usually exaggerating."
Leon raised an eyebrow slightly.
"And you’re not one of those people?"
Lucielle answered without hesitation.
"I am not."
The silence that followed felt heavier than any explosion.
Lucielle slowly raised her weapon.
"For someone who was never meant to reach this level, you’ve performed remarkably well."
Leon released a quiet sigh.
"I honestly can’t tell whether that’s praise or an insult."
"It is merely an observation."
Leon shook his head slightly.
"You’re really not the encouraging type of person."
Lucielle offered no response to that comment.
Instead, darkness began gathering around her once more.
The sky gradually darkened above them.
The pressure throughout the battlefield increased dramatically.
The atmosphere itself became suffocating.
Leon simply tightened his grip around Ayuru.
Silver mana surged around his body.
The ground beneath his feet shattered under the pressure.
Then both of them vanished from sight.
The collision that followed shook the entire battlefield.
A massive shockwave exploded outward in every direction.
Several distant hills collapsed instantly from the force.
The clouds overhead were blown apart completely.
I could only stare in silence.
Three whole days had passed.
Three entire days of nonstop fighting.
And somehow they were still fighting like this.
None of it felt normal anymore.
None of it felt remotely reasonable.
At this point, calling either of them human felt increasingly questionable.
Another collision erupted in the distance.
A second collision followed shortly afterward.
Then a third collision shook the battlefield once again.
The destruction continued without pause.
Neither side willingly gave ground.
Neither side showed any hesitation.
The fight had become something far beyond a simple contest of strength.
It had become a battle of willpower.
It had become a battle between two individuals who simply refused to lose.
Hours continued passing one after another.
The destruction continued growing with each exchange.
And somehow neither side showed any signs of reaching their limit.
At one point during the battle, Leon’s blade cut across Lucielle’s shoulder.
Dark blood scattered through the air.
The strike had landed directly.
For a brief moment, I thought that attack might finally create an opening.
Then Lucielle retaliated immediately.
Darkness exploded outward from her position.
Leon was forced back several hundred meters.
The injury barely seemed to matter to her.
Not long afterward, Lucielle’s attack managed to tear through Leon’s defenses.
A deep wound appeared across his side.
The damage looked severe from where I stood.
Yet only moments later, he was already charging forward again.
Neither of them seemed willing to acknowledge pain.
Neither of them seemed willing to acknowledge exhaustion.
The battle simply continued onward.
The entire fight felt completely unstoppable.
The pace remained relentlessly intense.
The struggle itself appeared endless.
At some point during the third day, I finally realized something important.
The reason neither side had won wasn’t because they lacked power.
The reason wasn’t because they lacked skill either.
The reason wasn’t because they lacked opportunities to finish the fight.
The truth was actually much simpler than that.
Whenever one of them reached a new level, the other adapted immediately.
Whenever one of them improved, the other responded in kind.
The fight itself was forcing both of them to grow stronger.
That realization was absolutely terrifying.
Another explosion erupted across the battlefield.
The sky flashed with silver and black light.
Leon and Lucielle separated once more.
Both of them remained standing.
Both of them remained ready to continue.
Both of them looked capable of fighting for another day if necessary.
Lucielle quietly looked toward Leon.
"You still haven’t fallen."
Leon slowly exhaled.
"That’s funny. I was about to say the exact same thing."
The wind howled across the ruined battlefield.
Countless scars covered the landscape around them.
The evidence of three days of destruction surrounded both fighters.
Yet neither warrior lowered their weapon.
Neither warrior looked away from the other.
For several long seconds, they simply stared at one another.
Then Lucielle spoke again.
"You are stronger than I expected."
This time, there was no mockery in her voice.
This time, there was no sarcasm hidden beneath her words.
This time, there was no dismissal whatsoever.
There was only genuine acknowledgment.
Leon looked back at her calmly.
"You’re stronger than I expected too."
For the first time since the battle had begun, neither of them attacked immediately.
Yet somehow, that brief pause felt more dangerous than any collision that had occurred during the previous three days.
Because despite everything they had already done throughout this battle, neither of them had given up.
Because despite three days of nonstop fighting, neither of them had accepted defeat.
Because despite the devastation surrounding them, neither of them looked willing to back down.
I could still feel it clearly.
The determination remained in both of them.
The will to continue fighting hadn’t weakened at all.
And the moment either one of them decided to move again, the battle would resume immediately.
Just as fiercely as it had from the very beginning.
