Chapter 1484: Chapter 211 - The Seven Deadly Sins (1)

We had finally reached the next settlement, and at the moment, all I could really do was sit quietly and watch Elise sleep.

The room itself was fairly calm, which was honestly a relief after everything that had happened. For the first time in what felt like forever, things weren’t actively going wrong every few seconds. That alone felt strange.

My eyes stayed on Elise as she rested.

Her chest rose and fell gently with each breath she took, steady and consistent enough to reassure me that she was doing alright. Every inhale and exhale was smooth, without any sign that she was struggling. It wasn’t exactly a detailed medical examination or anything, but it was enough to tell me that she was stable.

At the very least, she wasn’t getting worse.

Foriel was sitting nearby as well.

"It seems like you’re worried about her," she said while glancing in my direction. "Incredibly worried, in fact."

"Well, that’s only natural," I replied. "I think it would be pretty weird if I wasn’t worried at all, wouldn’t it?"

When I said that, she gave a small shrug.

"Fair point," she said. "I can’t really argue with that."

A brief silence settled between us before she stood up.

"More importantly, I’ve got somewhere I need to go for a bit."

"Hm?"

"I want to buy something for her to eat when she wakes up," she explained. "Is that alright?"

"Yeah, of course," I said immediately. "I’d really appreciate it."

Foriel smiled after hearing that.

"Then I’ll be back soon."

After saying those words, she left the room, quietly closing the door behind her.

That left me alone with Elise.

For a while, I simply sat there and listened to the sound of her breathing.

She still seemed to be in surprisingly good condition considering everything she’d been through. There were no obvious injuries that stood out, and she didn’t appear to be suffering from anything serious.

Still, I couldn’t help worrying.

Just to be safe, I had already checked her body for any signs that she might have been sexually assaulted.

Thankfully, I found absolutely nothing that suggested anything like that had happened.

Honestly, that alone lifted a massive weight off my shoulders.

As I continued looking over her, my attention eventually shifted toward something beside her.

Her phone.

She still had it.

The device looked pretty rough, though.

The screen was covered in cracks, almost like someone had stepped on it repeatedly out of pure spite. Somehow, despite looking like it had lost a fight against a very angry boot, it was still functional.

The battery, however, was completely dead.

That explained a lot.

It explained why none of my calls had gone through and why she never responded to any of my messages.

I reached over and gently held one of her arms.

Her skin felt warm.

For a while, I just sat there watching her breathe.

Then suddenly, her eyelids twitched.

At first, it was only a small movement.

Then they fluttered again.

It looked like she was having difficulty opening her eyes, almost as if she was still fighting against exhaustion. Even so, she slowly managed to force them open.

The moment I realized she was awake, I immediately leaned forward.

"Elise!"

Her eyes focused on me.

"L-Leon...?"

Her voice came out weak and somewhat strained.

Even hearing my name spoken like that made me feel relieved.

"Are you okay?" I asked immediately.

"Y-Yes..." she answered softly. "W-Where are we?"

"Honestly, I don’t know the name of the town," I admitted. "But we’re still somewhere on the Demon Continent."

After hearing that, a faint smile appeared on her face.

It wasn’t a particularly strong smile.

It looked weak and tired.

But it was genuine.

That much was obvious.

"You searched for me, huh?" she asked.

"Of course I did," I replied. "You weren’t answering your messages, and you weren’t picking up your calls either. I couldn’t help worrying."

A guilty expression appeared on her face.

"Sorry," she said quietly. "The phone you gave me got broken."

I picked up the damaged device.

"Actually, it’s still working surprisingly well."

"It is?"

"Yeah. The screen’s cracked, but that’s not the real issue. The battery is completely dead. That’s probably the reason you couldn’t contact me."

She blinked.

"C-Can it be fixed?"

"Definitely."

I nodded confidently.

"We just need to replace the screen and recharge it. Honestly, if you wanted, I could just give you another phone entirely."

Her expression shifted slightly.

"Although," I continued, "it would be a completely new device. None of our previous messages would be on it, and any pictures you’ve taken wouldn’t be there either."

After hearing that, she looked down for a moment.

Then she shook her head.

"I think I’d rather keep this one."

"You would?"

"Yeah."

She smiled softly.

"I mean, this was the first gift you’ve ever given me."

For some reason, hearing her say that caught me slightly off guard.

"Well," I said with a small laugh, "I guess that’s true."

A smile naturally formed on my face.

Then, before I could say anything else, Elise suddenly reached up.

Her hand moved behind my head.

The next thing I knew, she pulled me closer and pressed her lips against mine.

For a brief moment, I was surprised.

Then I relaxed into it.

Her lips felt soft against mine.

A second later, they parted slightly, allowing the kiss to deepen.

I closed my eyes.

The feeling was comforting.

After everything that had happened, simply being able to hold her like this felt reassuring.

Her lips were incredibly soft, and before I knew it, my arm had already wrapped around her waist.

I pulled her a little closer.

The feeling of her body pressing against mine was nice.

It wasn’t something I could easily put into words.

The closeness itself was enough.

It almost felt as if the distance between us had completely disappeared.

Eventually, I gently guided her back toward the bed.

"Are you sure you’re okay to do this?" I asked. "You literally just woke up, you know. You can rest for a while if you want."

She immediately shook her head.

"I’m okay."

There wasn’t much hesitation in her voice.

"Besides," she continued, "I really missed you."

Her fingers lightly squeezed mine.

"And I really missed this feeling too."

Hearing that made me pause.

I searched her face for any sign that she was forcing herself.

I couldn’t find any.

She looked completely sincere.

At that point, waiting any longer felt unnecessary.

So I leaned forward and kissed her again.

One kiss turned into another.

Then another.

Time passed without either of us really paying attention to it.

Before I realized it, both of us had completely removed our clothes.

Seeing her again after everything that had happened affected me more than I expected.

Not because anything had changed.

If anything, it was because she was still here.

Still alive.

Still smiling at me.

The tension that had been building inside me ever since she disappeared finally started easing little by little.

Without wasting any more time, I moved closer to her.

I wanted to feel her warmth again.

I wanted the reassurance that she was truly here in front of me.

And as I looked into her eyes, that was the only thing occupying my thoughts.

Without wasting any more time, I pressed my cock against her vagina before slowly pushing forward and completely submerging it into her warmth.
