Chapter 224: Into the Warfront
Garagos was a very ambitious monster, having earned the grace if Tempus he was made powerful overwhelmingly, so much that he even challenged Tempus for his position has a god. A god’s position can of course be challenged since they are just like a full time worker, so once there is another worker to overwhelm them, they can either chicken out of their job or get fired by their employers. But all nine god’s since they have been created none of them had have their jurisdictions taken from them, so Garagos lost totally to his Master Tempus, but he was still strong.
Ben dashed at Garagos with his overwhelming dragon speed, he withdrew his soul sword and attacked but Garagole pulled a Morningstar with another hand and blocked, the head of the Morningstar stretched out and wrapped Ben who immediately wrapped himself with abyssal flames and spread it around, causing Garagos to jump back.
"Abyssal flame?" He talked for the first time.
Rein grinned, ’...’
’Reinard, how many people did you share the authority over the flames with’ godeye asked him.
’Well around ten or so’
’...eh? Is it cookie why are you giving it around?’
’I wanted to make them stronger, I am not confident in my skill creation ability yet so I just gave them the one that was easy to share.’
’Are you dumb or clueless’ Huemac said.
’About what?’
’You can’t go around making people stronger than they normally are?’ Huemac said.
’Why not’ Rein asked.
’Rein-boy, you will disrupt the flow of hierarchy if you do that it will be hard for there to be order around you’
’I’ll make it possible besides, you guys know it too, combined with what I’ve been reading in the book Bahamot left over, we have a threat greater than we can ever handle, the gods are least of that threat which is why not I alone we all have to over come them, if by the time they come into this world, we are not strong, they will obliterate everything and we would not be able to stop them’
’...I didn’t believe Bahamot when he kept ranting about beings that may be stronger than deity that exist out there...you are right’
Rein continued to watch the fight between the two as did all other soldiers.
Ben got faster abs faster and attacked from all anger coupled with the spells he occasionally casted in order to shift the situation to his advantage.
But for thirty-five minutes he had not been able to land a single hit on Garagos. He stepped back and began to pant.
"What the hell are you?" He said.
Garagos walked past him and moved to Rein, Vandraak dashed at him but got caught with one hand and thrown away.
Rein was surprised Ben couldn’t land a hit on Garagos. Ben was one of the best decent fighters, though after his evolution he has been more about magic.
"You seem to be on a different power level from those goblin and bugbears" Rein said
"What? You compare me with the goblinoid pantheon?" Garagos face changed and he got angry, he jumped at Reinard but was blocked with the blacksword.
"Don’t you ever!!!" He removes a thorny short-story from another hand and strikes again. The thorns hooked the blacksword and dragged it off Rein’s hand, with another hand Garagos threw a punch at Rein but Rein blocked and twisted his hand, he did not mind instead he threw another uppercut with the lowest hand, Rein caught it just before he reached his jaw he was about to turn it too but Garagos threw a knee towards his belly, he squeezed a punch into Garagos knee, purple blood splashed on his face. Garagos flew back with one of his leg disabled. He was surprised but yet he was smiling.
"Is he a psycho? Red body, six arms...he is definitely a monster and yet he can talk?"
’When the gods bestow grace on any loving, they come alive, naturally even monsters have personality, it’s just ravaged’ godeye responded.
’I still don’t know why the Estelers decided to create gods and leave do you know why?’
’I will tell you when you have successfully made me a body’
’That’s petty...you could just say it now’
Garagos bite off his flesh and at once his leg began to get back in order and heal. He pulled out other weapons, on his right side, was a short-sword, a butchering blade and a dagger, on his left side was a Morningstar, a thorn sword and another dagger.
Rein was irritated, "Did he just bite off his flesh to heal?"
The Garagos grabbed on of the soldiers from the sidelines immediately everyone fell in disarray he was about to eat hi head but he looked down and Rein was already under him, Rein deeped a punch into his chest and his hand came out at his back. He pulled out his hand back, the Garagos jumped away again and was bleeding even from his mouth.
"Did you seriously think I would let you kill someone in my presence, how do monsters even think" Rein said as he splashed the blood off his hands by shaking it.
Garagos bit off his flesh multiple times and the wound began to heal as he ate his flesh.
Rein grinned, "Ben"
"Yes My lord" Ben appeared behind him and bowed.
"I think this is a very good chance"
"What my lord?"
"His flesh seems to have some healing abilities in it, I want to take it to Potion company, perhaps they could do some research and with the recipe I gave them three years ago they would be able to make potion that will heal wounds instantly" Rein smiled.
"My lord that is a great thought", ’giving the situation, to be able to think that much ahead it means my lord is not fazed by this situation at all’ Ben smiled.
"Okay let me end this" Rein stretched his hand and the blacksword flew into it.
The whole soldiers were surprised even the King, a sword that can move on its own was extremely rare and if a person has one, such a person is considered a hero blessed by gods as such was Nilus.
Garagos splitter into six individuals with the weapons in his hand, he ran at Rein.
Rein kept walking towards him, "oh you wanna play numbers now"
The charged in a sequence that was admirable, as one was attacking and Rein had successfully blocked another one was coming from another angle, so he had to pull of from the other one in order to block the incoming hence giving that one an opening, but Rein was fast enough to deal with the incoming one and still not create an opening, he was fast enough to deal with the one coming after that and the next one without still leaving an opening, Garagos was very fast too, as one was being smashed away without wasting a millisecond the other would jump in and get punched away too. Rein kept pushing all of them with one sword and all six of them could not even land a single hit, the battle got so fast that all that the soldiers could follow was sword strikes and sounds and times when any one of the six Garagos was tossed away by Rein’s attack.
Rein began to find it exhilarating and continued to get faster, "haha this is the first time I’ve used this much strength. I’m enjoying it"
Garagos was shocked, ’this bastard is too fast and he doesn’t even seem to be getting tired’
Rein continued to push him and now each Garagos was already sustaining injuries and taking time to stand.
Rein stopped, "are you getting fatigued?" He asked.
"..." Garagos looked at him.
"Ever since I trained with Doir at the altar I started enjoying fights, I don’t know how to describe it, it was fun, it didn’t used to be fun but as I grew stronger it became fun...and there is always a lingering feeling that this is how it used to be, I do remember when I was a child I used to enjoy beating up Kain and the other kids around, but it’s different it feels like I have had this strength from very long time, feels different and weird but feels good. I’m saying all this because you have won favor with me, get up I will heal you of your fatigue, let’s fight more"
"Eh?" Garagos was surprised.
Not only Garagos, every soldier felt it was a good opportunity for Rein to finish the fight but instead he wants to heal him and continue the fight, they began to murmur.
"Shut up!" Rein said and at once all of them went mute.
"Whmatch carefully, thanks to this guy here, your king and his son has not died by my hands. Before I’m done with this guy think carefully about what you will do by the time I am done.
Rein moved to Garagos who had merged back together and placed his hands on him, "absolute comdition, you will not feel any fatigue of sorts for the next few hours"
