Chapter 150: Chapter 149: Ixalan Vampire II

The claws of the vampire clashed continually with Rein’s bare arm and was consequently deflected every single time, he instead smiled wider and went faster and kept striking Rein’s arm which Rein was using to block. At first it was unintentional because he forgot that vampires have really hard fingers but to his surprise for the first time the scale that was always mobile around his body, all came to that point he used to block and settled there, he was taken by surprised by the fact that the vampire was deflected with no damage for him, so he kept blocking as much as he can while playing on the defensive as he studied the vampire.

’I can’t rush into the fight, there are three others waiting even if I beat him besides this monster is a level 400, I don’t even have the confidence that I can beat him with my strength to be honest I’m very scared of my punch giving him a little damage...’ Rein kept playing defense as he thought along.

"Oiii, ain’t your skin too hard for a human’s"

"And who told you I was a human?" Rein spread his arm in the air, "link!" His eyes turned white and began to spark as he floated in the air, "summon available draconic direwolves"

Immediately light pillars begin to fall on the floor and behold was eleven draconic wolves standing in front of them. The vampires carefully observed for all their life they had never seen this kind of monsters but the one facing Rein cared less.

"What the hell?!! I thought you were finally going to start with me, but you dare bring wolves, big wolves to fight me?! Seems you underestimate the Ixalans too much" his black eyes turned blue immediately.

"Vandraak no!!" The oldest looking one amongst them shouted but was ignored.

Rein’s ordinary eyes could not follow the speed hence it automatically switched to dragon eyes few steps before he was about to be stabbed, he quickly draw up his sword using that avenue to shield his stomach which the vampire was aiming for, but it slipped the vampires claws was yet again deflected by the mobile scales.

Rein at this point began to sweat, ’what the hell was that, I have never seen something like that...’

The old vampire that talked earlier laughed senile, "of course even you too will be taken by surprise, since we the Ixalan vampires are known for our speed, but this young man here, unique ability is speed, he is the fastest amongst the fastest, faster than the speed of light himself no one can ever catch up to hi-"

"Shut up, old man Devon" Vandraak, the vampire facing Reinard interrupted.

"Uhhh, you bastard how can you be so disrespectful" the other one left of the old vampire named Devon screamed.

"This guy..." Vandraak looked at Rein seriously, "....he blocked it...he was late but he blocked it..."

The old vampire’s eye widened, "that cannot be true, how can a human....?"

The direwolves immediately jumped in sequence the moment they saw there was an opening but Vandraak was kicking them easily with so much speed that that particular action could not be seen only blue sparks could be seen.

Rein looked harder with dragon eyes where he sees everything slower, he looked as the vampire presses speed under his feet and releases at exactly same point of impact with either the surrounding or the target.

The vampire finished dealing with all the direwolves, he turned to Rein, "even a transcendent cannot see my speed because it cannot be comprehended by the transcendent realm, I have heard rumors about nirvana being the highest point but I’ve never faced anyone that has reached nirvana, you... have you reached nirvana?"

"No... I haven’t even reached transcendent."

"Silly human, you think you can lie to me?!!"

"He’s telling the truth..." the one that spoke to Rein the first time spoke again, his black hair neatly gelled to the back made him look different of all the four and stand out.

Vandraak gritted his teeth, ’...if that bastard Voss is saying so, that mean he is telling the truth’

The direwolves began to get up again but this time, they worked better than last time as they seem to be coordinated, three earth-attribute draconic direwolves jumped into the ground while the some began to bend out balls of stone by stomping the ground, Vandraak was about to run when the ground beneath hims suddenly turned to quicksand and very slippery, he managed to still run but his speed was definitely slowed, a large pillar of stone elongated from the ground which in order to avoid he hard to slow down he was aiming for the one throwing large ball of stones but another one came out from beneath he tried to weave very fast but the fangs of the direwolf that came out from the ground grazed him.

"Wow" the old man could not help but be marvelled at what he saw, "...this things are growing, they most have discovered the only way to fight Vandraak is to slow him down, but what is more amazing is their working together to slow him down, are these things really wolves?..."

Rein smiled, ’of course, they have now been included in dragon race because of me, they now think like dragons not like wolves, I’m proud of them’

’Wow’ Rein was full of joy, so much that the look on his face began to irritate Vandraak who was struggling with the direwolves.

The old vampire smiled, "but that’s not enough..."

Vandraak suddenly got faster and the impact of his speed, destroyed the surrounded including the stones and burrows that the direwolves were making as he dashed towards Rein.

Rein’s eyes widened, ’Its been so long since I’ve seen this, how come you never told me Ariel?...’ he smiled as Vandraak was running towards him, the smile pissed Vandraak the more and he even put more speed that he disappeared and appeared in front of Rein, with his hand stabbing through Rein and coming out from the back.

"How’s that human...? All your cocky attitude is now for nothing"

Rein smiled and immediately the Rein Vandraak had stabbed began to turn to an after-image, like a phasing.

Initially what Rein saw was,

Vandraak was surprised as his hand was standing in an empty space which Rein was supposed to be filling, he didn’t understand what was going on, ’I am sure I stabbed him, I felt my hand enter his belly, I stabbed him’

Rein appeared by shades of light joining and revealing him, at the back of the vampires, they immediately turned back and all three of them, their eyes turned blue.

"Wow... I thought I was actually going to die"

Even the old vampire was just as curious and bothered as Vandraak was, ’how did he? What did he do?’

Rein smirked, ’thank God I watched the old superheroes series the flash, when I was a kid back on earth, there was no way I would have gotten the idea to modify a speed skill like that into a better one, haha I’m beginning to love this’ Rein laughed out loud.

"You are dangerous, I shall take it from here..." the vampire with his hair gelled to the back spoke and began to remove the white glove on his hand as he gently walked towards Rein.

Vandraak appeared in his front with his super speed, "No! I will not allow you!! I must see this to the e-"

𝑷𝒐𝑾𝒘𝑾!!

He slapped Vandraak’s head towards the side, Vandraak was thrown away by the impact, he crashed into the wall so much that the rest if the standing wall fell on him and the whole room vibrated.

Rein kept the dragon eyes activated, in order to be prepared for any surprise attack.

"I see, you are not human" he smiled, "...draw your sword, I’m a swordsman too, let’s enjoy a quick duel between swordsman. Don’t worry, it will be quick as I will be taking you serious from the beginning, hence you can’t last three minutes"

’As expected of Voss, he doesn’t like beating around the bush nor pitying his enemy’ The old vampire smiled from where he was.

"Pretty cocky aren’t you?" Rein drew out his bamboo sword, "then I will do the same, you won’t even last three seconds" Rein got in stance, ’if I combine line sword with flashspeed which is the new SSS skill I just got, I should he able to finish him in a strike’

The vampire smiled devilishly as he saw Rein push one of his leg forward as and held his sword with the tip pointing to the back.

"You better bring out your sword before it is too late"

Rein breathed out slowly through his mouth and released his aura tenderly like always.

’Interesting’ Voss thought, as he looked at Rein’s pose and found it magnificent.

Rein could not be seen, he disappeared and appeared at Voss’s back with his sword now pointing ahead but Voss also was holding a black smoky swordlike rod, his the butt where he was holding up and the tip pointing to the ground, a small cut appeared on his neck and he kept smiling.

’Dammit’ Rein staggered the moment he stood upright and tried to turn, a large amount of blood turbulently splurged out from his side but he rested on his sword which he dug into the ground.

He sighed, "what monster...."
