Chapter 30: Model for spellcasting
One hour later.

"Pah~~"
"Pah~~"
"Pah~~"
"Pah~~"
—I’m going to explode again!!
—uRRH~~ groan, when I felt my balls expel white semen directly into Lina’s pink anus one last time.
I breathed heavily and got up.
I looked down and saw both of Lina’s love holes completely filled with my warm love milk.
—Uhh~~ It’s hot. Hic.. Hic.. Lina moaned as she felt my semen flood her tight interior.
Then I washed her and took her to the bed in the room, she kissed me on the mouth while laughing completely out of her mind.
And then he fell asleep.
I didn’t think much because I had another destination.
The commercial post.
...
A few minutes after stopping by my laboratory to pick up several Explosive Fire Crystals, I crossed the Tower’s enormous marketplace once again.
It was still bustling with activity.
I passed several tents until I found a very familiar one.
Marcos’s stall.
As soon as he looked up and recognized me, a huge smile spread across his face.
—George!
He raised both arms.
—It’s you again!
—You’ve really spent a lot of magic crystals with me this semester.
—You haven’t given up on engineering yet?
I looked him straight in the eye.
—Engineering is an incredible profession.
—I’ll never give up on it.
Marcos shook his head and replied,
—I like that determination.
I stepped up to the counter.
I took a small wooden box out of my bag.
—Today...
—I didn’t come to buy ingredients.
I slowly opened the lid.
Several carefully arranged Explosive Fire Crystals came into view.
I slid the box toward him.
—Take a look at this.
Marcos glanced at it absentmindedly.
Then he froze.
His eyes widened.
—No...
He leaned closer to the box.
—It can’t be...
He slowly picked up one of the crystals.
He held it against the light.
Then he took out a small magnifying lens.
He began a meticulous inspection.
When he finished...
His eyes were practically shining.
—You did it...
—You finally did it!
Marcos still looked as though he couldn’t believe it.
He picked up a sheet of paper and a quill.
He began making a few calculations.
Muttering to himself all the while.
—Based on the ingredients you bought...
—You must have made...
—Around three hundred attempts...
He stopped writing.
Then slowly looked up.
—Roughly three hundred attempts...
—And you’ve already managed to produce several functional Explosive Fire Crystals.
—That level of talent...
—Is only slightly below Lina’s.
I smiled faintly.
Lina really had earned quite a reputation during the semester.
Marcos continued.
—She’s also one of Master Totil’s students.
—But you...
—You’re practically keeping pace with her.
I shrugged.
—It’s all thanks to Master Totil’s guidance.
—Totil...
—Always Totil.
He made an exaggerated expression.
—First he trains Lucas...
—Then Lina shows up...
—And now there’s you.
He threw his arms toward the ceiling.
—Did that dwarf steal all the Tower’s luck?
I couldn’t help letting out a small laugh.
Marcos then leaned over the counter.
He lowered his voice.
—George...
I looked at him.
—Have you ever thought about changing mentors?
I raised an eyebrow.
He hurriedly continued.
—My master is an engineering professor too.
—I’m absolutely certain he’d love to have a student like you.
I smiled.
Then slowly shook my head.
—Sorry.
—That would practically be suicide.
Marcos grimaced.
—I figured you’d say that.
I nodded.
—Master Totil has always treated me very well.
—Betraying him like that would be an enormous sign of disrespect.
—Besides...
—I’m sure he’d be furious.
—I’d rather stay alive.
—Yeah...
—You’re right.
He sighed.
—What a shame.
—I was really holding onto hope.
Then he turned his attention back to the crystals.
He picked one up again.
—Very well.
He quickly did a few calculations.
—I can pay four magic crystals per unit.
I nodded immediately.
It was exactly the price I had expected.
The official price was five.
But Marcos still had to resell them.
Four magic crystals was still a very fair deal.
—Deal.
I rested my elbows on the counter.
—But there’s one condition.
Marcos tilted his head.
—What’s that?
—I don’t want the magic crystals from this batch.
He looked confused.
—You don’t?
I shook my head.
—Exchange everything for more ingredients.
—The same ingredients needed to make Explosive Fire Crystals.
—Ha!
—You really do think like an engineer.
He immediately turned around.
—Boys!
—Prepare four full crates with George’s usual materials!
The employees answered in unison.
—Yes!
While they gathered the ingredients, Marcos looked back at me.
There was a gleam of satisfaction in his eyes.
To him...
I probably looked like a newly discovered magic crystal mine.
A talented engineer meant steady business.
A few minutes later...
Four carefully packed crates were placed on the counter.
Marcos held out his hand.
—I hope this partnership lasts for many years.
I shook his hand.
—I hope so too.
I picked up the four crates.
Waved goodbye.
Then left the stall.
Three days passed.
I was alone inside my laboratory.
I folded my arms as I looked at the stacks of crates carefully arranged against the wall.
One.
Two.
Five.
Ten.
Every one of them contained exactly the same thing.
Explosive Fire Crystals.
I opened one of them.
Dozens of small reddish crystals glowed softly inside.
I closed the lid.
Then looked once more at all the crates.
More than six hundred crystals.
I let out a long sigh.
—The biochip’s success rate is truly absurd...
Practically one hundred percent.
After making a few initial adjustments...
Not a single attempt had failed.
Not even Master Totil could probably maintain such a flawless success rate through hundreds of consecutive creations.
I ran my hand across one of the crates.
It was a small fortune.
And at the same time...
A huge problem.
Right now, I can only sell a small fraction of them...
There was no point in flooding the Tower’s internal market.
I began pacing slowly through the laboratory.
I need to find another buyer...
I thought for a few moments.
A black market...
It was probably the best option.
A place where no one would ask questions.
Where volume mattered more than the origin of the goods.
But I immediately dismissed the idea.
Inside the Tower...
I didn’t know anyone involved in that kind of business.
And outside...
The problem was even greater.
The outside world was unbelievably dangerous.
I was still only a First-Level Acolyte.
I stopped in front of the workbench.
First...
Second Level.
I nodded to myself.
That had to remain my primary goal.
After that...
I could learn spells.
Accept missions.
Gain experience outside the Tower.
Perhaps then an opportunity would arise to sell my crystals on a much larger scale.
.
Another day...
.
.
.
.
I carefully locked my laboratory.
Then walked through the Tower’s corridors toward Master Totil’s laboratory.
The door was slightly ajar.
I pushed it open slowly.
As soon as I entered...
I realized someone else was there.
Master Totil was speaking with a tall man wearing a long crimson robe.
I recognized his face immediately.
It was Professor Lucius.
The Tower’s master of Magical Skinning.
In his hands was a small sphere about the size of a golf ball.
It was completely red.
Inside the sphere, scarlet energy pulsed slowly.
With every pulse...
A metallic scent, reminiscent of blood, subtly spread through the laboratory.
Totil carefully held the sphere.
Then handed it back to Lucius.
—The stabilization is complete.
Lucius carefully examined the artifact.
He smiled in satisfaction.
—Excellent work.
—As always.
Totil merely shrugged.
—You know where to find me if you need another one.
The two continued discussing technical details that I didn’t even fully understand.
I decided not to interrupt.
I simply remained near the entrance to the laboratory.
Waiting patiently.
A few minutes later...
Lucius carefully stored the sphere inside a small box lined with runes.
He gave Totil a brief nod.
Lucius walked past me.
I bowed respectfully.
He responded with a slight nod of his own before leaving the laboratory.
As soon as the door closed...
Totil finally turned his attention to me.
He folded his arms.
—What do you want, boy?
I stepped forward.
I bowed respectfully.
—Master.
—I would like to purchase the vial containing the magical formulas.
Totil raised an eyebrow.
—Oh?
A small smile appeared beneath his beard.
—So you’ve finally decided to learn casting magic?
I nodded.
—I’m very close to completing all the necessary codes.
—There’s only one final step left before I advance to the Second Level of Acolyte.
—I would like to prepare everything in advance.
Totil slowly stroked his beard.
Then walked over to one of the shelves.
He took down a small cylindrical crystal vial.
Inside was a silvery liquid.
Tiny glowing symbols floated continuously within it.
He returned to me.
—According to the official Arcangrove Tower price list, the introduction to Magic Models costs fifty magic crystals.
He placed the vial on the workbench.
Then looked directly at me.
—However...
He smiled faintly.
—I can let you have it for thirty.
I couldn’t hide a small smile.
It was an excellent discount.
Totil continued.
—Actually...
—I could simply give this to you for free.
I was a little surprised.
He raised a finger.
—But I won’t.
His gaze became firm.
—I want you to never forget one thing.
—Knowledge gained without effort is usually the first knowledge to be forgotten.
—Paying for it will make you value it.
I nodded immediately.
I understood his intention perfectly.
It wasn’t about the thirty crystals.
It was about the lesson.
I carefully removed the pouch from my belt.
I counted out exactly thirty magic crystals onto the workbench.
Totil merely gave them a quick glance.
Then slid the small vial toward me.
—Very good.
—Take it.
—Study it.
—And don’t attempt to cast spells until you’ve reached the Second Level.
I carefully picked up the vial.
Inside, dozens of tiny silver symbols shimmered.
I smiled faintly.
Once again...
It was clear that Master Totil truly approved of my progress.
At the Tower, very few professors offered discounts simply out of goodwill.
Such privileges were usually reserved for students in whom they saw the potential to go much further.
