Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Thoroughly Bad Person_1

"You still planning to kill someone after getting out of jail?" Hearing Camila say that, Aiden immediately furrowed his brows.

"I choose to sit in jail honestly only because it was the trend; the gang’s already going down, and I could only choose self-preservation. But that doesn’t mean I intend to swallow this insult silently. That scum not only screwed me over but also sent that stupid woman to prison to annoy me. How could I possibly let him go? An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, that’s my style!"

When Camila said this, not only did she not gnash her teeth, but she also smiled brightly with sparkling eyes, like a child seeing a beloved toy.

She was indeed a violent maniac, filled with anticipation for the killing of her enemies.

In her eyes, Carlo Bollpo was not so much a hated enemy, but rather a valuable prey.

"The Mounted Police aren’t planning to pursue your past crimes; you’ll be clean once you get out of jail," Aiden reminded her, staring at her, "If you commit a crime again and come back here, you’ll be here for life, even if you don’t die."

"Are you worrying about my life, warden?" Camila replied sarcastically, "Unfortunately, for a rotten person like me, I’ve had no life to speak of from the moment I was born. Even if I don’t settle scores with that trash, I won’t lead a decent life after getting out. After all, I’ve been mixed up with the gang since the hair down there started growing. I, ah, only know this way of life."

Aiden recalled that Camila’s record mentioned she wasn’t even twenty but had already been with the gang for over five years.

He suddenly became a little interested in Camila’s past, "Just why did you join the gang in the first place?"

"Nothing special, really. Was it when I was thirteen or fourteen? Or fifteen? Eh, can’t remember exactly, never celebrated a birthday..." Camila scratched her head in irritation, "Anyway, it was around that time, the woman who bore me took up with a gang officer. I didn’t care about it, but one day, the officer set his sights on me. That woman then helped him find an opportunity to lock me in a room with him, allowing him to do as he pleased with me."

Pausing for a moment, a wicked smile crossed Camila’s face, "And then, I just made sure he could never get up from a bed again."

"What do you mean?" Aiden raised an eyebrow.

"I beat that man until he was paralyzed from the waist down, then I broke all his fingers, and finally, I gouged out one of his eyes," Camila said excitedly, as if recounting a fond memory, "That pair of dogs thought I was just a little devil, easy to handle, but they didn’t know my bloodline had already awakened."

Aiden and Veronica exchanged a glance involuntarily; Camila’s story was indeed shocking.

"Your own mother actually helped your stepfather do that?" Veronica asked, her expression grave.

"The woman who gave birth to me was in that line of work," Camila said with a mocking look, as she held up a finger, a gesture with a specific meaning in this world, "Not the kind that earns her own money, but the kind sold to the gang for such business, most of the money she earned taken by the gang. It was also unknowingly with some customer carrying a strange bloodline that she accidentally got pregnant and had me. From as early as I can remember, she never took care of me. Provided meals were hit or miss; to her, I was just a burden. At that time both she and that man thought I was of age and could be used to earn money, turns out they put themselves at risk too."

Camila spoke carefree, even with a smile, as if talking about someone else’s life, "But delivering such a beating to a gang officer was also trouble, even if just for the sake of saving face they had to take care of me. Seeking protection, I simply threw my lot in with a gang that was their rival, then turned around and wiped out that gang. Truth be told, I never felt bad about it, in the old district, being part of a gang was a respectable deal. Compared to those who were just squeezed dry, born with that kind of bloodline on my side, I was already quite lucky."

Veronica couldn’t help but feel a chill; also born an anomaly, her life’s trajectory was vastly different from Camila’s.

Aiden had once told her that some people are born into distorted environments and are doomed to walk crooked paths because they have no choice, and Camila, evidently, was one of those people.

Dealing with such a twisted family, by comparison, an orphan like her was extremely fortunate.

"So you see, I was born in a pile of scum. Not long after I can remember, I learned to steal. Before I joined a gang at about ten, I’d already learned to extort money from those storefronts. By the time I was in the gang, I’d already earned quite a sinister reputation..." Camila said nonchalantly, "I’m utter trash, head guard, it’s probably best for you not to entertain the illusion of reforming me."

"I know you’re complete scum and I never thought I’d be able to reform you," Aiden replied expressionlessly, "I just thought that having to keep an eye on a piece of trash like you for eight years was already tiring enough. If I have to watch you for a lifetime, I’d probably be tempted to finish you off myself."

Through past experience and his studies in criminal psychology, Aiden realized that Camila’s violent tendencies were likely not an innate trait of her bloodline but a result of her past experiences.

Having grown up in a twisted environment just like hers, Camila’s depravity was probably even more extreme than Avansa’s.

Because of Meiruki’s oppressive control, Avansa actually developed resistance to killing, longing for a stable life after she got a taste of prison life.

But it was the opposite for Camila; she used her innate advantage in violence to protect herself and gain a survival advantage in that environment, and the positive feedback from continuously profiting from violence made her begin to enjoy it, gradually becoming addicted to it.

She became a criminal by her own volition, and reforming such an offender was definitely not an easy task.

"How about this, head guard, you help me settle the score with that guy?" Camila’s eyes gleamed as she suddenly cracked a sly smile.

"Me?" Aiden frowned.

"Having to wait eight years to settle the score is unbearable. If you, head guard, could take revenge for me, I could give you some benefits..." Camila spoke with a smile, suddenly slapping her thigh, "Ah, let’s do it this way, you take down that man for me!"
