Chapter 637: Chapter 636 You Guys Really Know How to Stir Things Up_1
That evening, in the conference room.
Aiden looked across the iron table at the two Great Witches, frowning slightly, his eyes conveying a hint of helplessness, "You two are really something, half a day in and you’ve already caused so much trouble for me."
"I think we’ve been pretty well-behaved," Lamia retorted nonchalantly.
"Is sexually harassing other prisoners in the bathhouse what you call well-behaved?" Aiden asked expressionlessly. "To be honest, such things are not uncommon in prison but... that was Camilla, you know. She’s a notorious thorn in the side of this core area, barely the tyrant of the prison, and your taste is quite something."
It was said that when the guards arrived to intervene, the rescued Camilla was seething with humiliation and rage—she probably never imagined she would have such a day in jail.
"That girl is a bona fide descendant of dragons. Abigail and I have been studying life alchemy for so long, yet we’ve never seen a living dragon descendant. I was just interested in rare materials," Lamia explained, spreading her hands. "By the way, can you arrange for me to stay with her for a few days?"
"You’re bold. Other prisoners would do anything not to share a room with her," Aiden shook his head, surprised that even Camilla had met her match, "But of course, that’s out of the question. Plus, you’ll have to take an extra educational class tonight to get the rules of this prison thoroughly engraved in your memory."
"Listen here, kid, I’ve made plans to play chess with Daili tonight," Lamia protested dissatisfied with his decision.
"I’m in charge here," Aiden insisted. "Rules are rules, and if your privileges are downgraded, you won’t even be able to enter the games room."
"The trouble Lamia caused has nothing to do with me, right?" Qiqimora yawned. "Can you let me go back now?"
"Don’t rush, let’s talk about your issue now," Aiden said, turning his sharp gaze to Qiqimora.
"Why are you looking at me like that? I don’t have any issues. Today, I didn’t bother anyone, and I even handled the job you assigned me perfectly," Qiqimora shrugged.
"The issue lies precisely in the job you ’perfectly handled,’" Aiden said, enunciating each word.
"I disposed of the garbage in the incineration yard thoroughly, leaving nothing behind."
"Then I have received a report that several of the incinerators at the incineration yard have gone missing. Any ideas?" Aiden asked coldly, staring at Qiqimora.
"Incinerators? I don’t really remember what they look like," Qiqimora recalled, "There were a few grimy iron shells there, they were so dirty that I processed them along with the trash."
"So, those iron shells were the incinerators. Thank you," Aiden said, expressionless.
"Oh dear, I thought they were trash too," Qiqimora chuckled.
"How could metal products be incinerated? Do you think that’s a steel mill?"
"Is that so?" Qiqimora clearly didn’t take it seriously and just waved it off with a smile, "Never mind, with me here now, there’s no need for furnaces to burn anything."
"Then please tell me, what do we burn things with after you leave prison?" Aiden pressed. "Or are you planning to work in here indefinitely? Hmm?"
"Uh..." Qiqimora was at a loss for words momentarily.
"Pay up, I’ll have someone deduct it from your controlled funds," Aiden sighed deeply. "Lucky for you that you have some money; this compensation isn’t something ordinary people can afford."
"Oh come on, kid, you’re too caught up in these trivial matters," Lamia said.
"It’s you who don’t care about the details," Aiden tapped the iron table. "I’ve told you to follow the rules."
"Alright, alright, we’ll pay more attention next time," Qiqimora smiled politely.
"Let’s leave it at that, then. I’ll say it again, just follow the rules while you’re here," Aiden didn’t intend to delve further into the matter, he had anticipated that these two Great Witches would cause some trouble upon entering, and the extent of the trouble was still within an acceptable range.
"By the way, kid. What’s with the prisoner in room three?" Lamia suddenly asked.
"You mean Halo? What about her?" Aiden’s brow furrowed slightly.
"When she came out of the cell this afternoon, she greeted us proactively as if she knew us well," Lamia explained.
"And she’s always reading books in her room, doesn’t she have to work?" Qiqimora added.
"Oh, she has some mental issues, don’t worry about her," Aiden replied without changing his expression.
Halo had been locked in the cell almost all day because of her mental issues, and even after the consciousness of the Goddess of Revenge awakened, Aiden still kept her in the cell. In Aiden’s view, the Goddess of Revenge’s mind wasn’t exactly normal, either; compared to her meager labor capabilities, letting her wander out of the cell could present a greater hidden threat.
After all, the goddess he had imprisoned beneath his office was more or less the same.
This carefree goddess had actually taken the initiative to greet the two Great Witches. The Goddess of Revenge certainly knew the two Great Witches since they had fought side by side during the battle in Sunset City. But the two Great Witches had no idea about such a figure’s existence because, at that time, the Goddess of Revenge had been inside Aiden.
"That gal had a really weird smile," Lamia said. "She definitely didn’t seem mentally stable."
"Enough about these trifles, let’s talk about something important," Aiden changed the subject. "There’s something I hope you can keep an eye on for me, namely to watch out for any new prisoners with particularly suspicious behaviors, especially if they’re from the Blood Clan or other undead races."
"What’s up?" Qiqimora asked. "Is the Blood Moon Cult still infiltrating your prison with their members?"
"Do we need to watch out for that? Just keep using your powers to sniff them out," Lamia remarked.
"Those people have failed once, how could they not learn from it?" Aiden shook his head. "It’s been a while since I’ve caught any followers of the Blood Moon Cult."
"Doesn’t that mean they’ve given up on sending undercovers to your place?" Qiqimora suggested.
"Or it’s possible they’ve found a way to deceive me," Aiden shook his head again. "’Sacrifice’s’ ability can be used to erase memories. As long as the incoming person has part of their key memories deleted, even if I use my power to force them to tell the truth, I can’t get anything out of it because even they don’t know they are undercovers sent by the cult."
"Are you kidding me, kid? If their key memories are erased, then they won’t even be able to accomplish their mission, let alone stay loyal to the Blood Moon Cult," Lamia laughed. "These people, sent into your prison, are just ordinary criminals. What impact could they possibly make?"
Aiden shook his head: "No, these people might be... even more dangerous than the assassin previously sent in because as long as they enter this prison, they’ve essentially completed their mission."
