Chapter 596: Chapter 595 Looking Forward to Your Ending_1
"You speak as if it’s certain I’ll become the ruler," Aiden frowned upon hearing this.
"You will," the Dreamer said with conviction, snapping his fingers, "and you’ll surely become our understander. I’m very much looking forward to the day we can have tea together in that shop."
After finishing his thought, he raised his hand to signal a waiter and ordered the best coffee available here.
"You could conjure up your drinks, couldn’t you?" Aiden lowered his voice and said.
"One should always try new things so that the material I can create will increase," the Dreamer said with a smile.
"It seems you have a lot of confidence in me...," Aiden said, "but becoming the ruler isn’t as easy as you think, not to mention my life is in danger."
"The chess piece from Melissa before? Merely a ’Hatred’ saint, he’ll just become a stepping stone for you," the Dreamer said calmly as he sipped his coffee, "Mr. Watcher, in this regard, you can trust that I am your most steadfast supporter because there is a story in your memory from another world that I wish to know. I bet you will win."
"In that case, why don’t you just go and kill him for me?" Aiden asked.
"Sorry, I have an arrangement with someone to intervene only when necessary," the Dreamer answered, "This time, when he was about to come to this city to kill you, I sent him back. That should count as fulfilling my obligations to you, right?"
"Was it really you who did that? Then I really should thank you," Aiden also remembered the incident with Mr. Bloodcoat, who had approached the autonomous state and then turned back.
"There’s more you should be thanking me for. Your soul was summoned by the Goddess of Conspiracy, but your resurrection in this guise was with my help," the Dreamer said with a grin, "I allowed the Goddess of Conspiracy to borrow my power."
"So my resurrection was accomplished with the power of the ’Existence’ authority?"
"What else? Many authorities’ powers can resurrect, but to perfectly replace the existence of ’Aiden Galahad,’ only my authority would suffice," the Dreamer stated flatly.
Hence Mr. Bloodcoat’s obsession with obtaining the Hand of Obliteration to pass the test set by the Goddess of Conspiracy.
"What if I die again next time...," Aiden probed tentatively.
"I would still resurrect Aiden Galahad, but the soul would have to be from another world," the Dreamer said.
"And here I thought my fan would give me some preferential treatment," Aiden said, "I see you treat Duboman, the Hound, quite specially."
"Speaking of bloodlines, he is actually my son, my illegitimate child," the Dreamer shrugged, "Initially, I made him the protagonist of the story because of that slight affection from the blood relation; now, it’s just become a habit."
"" Aiden was momentarily at a loss for words.
It turns out he really was his own son.
"Moreover, it’s not up to me which soul to use, and the new soul will inherit all of your memories as well, so I’m not worried about the stories in your head disappearing," the Dreamer said nonchalantly, "But don’t worry, I believe in your victory."
"I really don’t understand this mysterious confidence you have in me," Aiden said, puzzled.
"You already have all the materials you need, and ’Order’ is the authority that suits you best. Your ascension ceremony will go smoothly," the Dreamer spoke, "You know, authorities choose their wielders. The first authority you touched was ’Order.’ It might seem like chance, but such ’chance’ is also pre-ordained, a sign the authority sees something in you."
"It wasn’t the ’Order’ authority but the Goddess of Conspiracy who chose me, pushing me into this position," Aiden responded, "And my materials are not complete; I’m still missing a bit of divinity."
"I’ve already taken care of that little detail for you," the Dreamer said with a smile.
"What?" Aiden was stunned.
"When we first met, I transferred some divinity to you. You are now on the level of a saint. You just need to activate the Word of God," the Dreamer explained briskly, "No need to thank me, think of it as a small gift from a fan."
"Tips in divinity? You’re quite the generous fan," Aiden thought, his feelings mixed as he wondered whether to accept graciously.
That meant now, if he just spoke the "Law’s" Word of God and activated it with divinity, he would be elevated to the rank of a ’Order’ saint!
"With the power of a ruler, collecting extra divinity is not difficult," the Dreamer said, "A ruler’s power is overwhelming, whether their opponent is mortal or saint."
"I’ve already felt it, no need to show off to me," Aiden exhaled, thinking the Dreamer was referring to his ability to rewrite endings.
"It’s not showing off; it’s just a reminder that resisting a ruler is no easy feat," the Dreamer said.
Aiden then realized the Dreamer was referring to his relationship with the Goddess of Conspiracy—obviously, the Dreamer knew Aiden was determined to break free from the Goddess’s control.
"So you expect me to give up?" Aiden asked.
"Not at all. Honestly, I’m quite looking forward to your success. I love dramatics, even if the chance for such a development is one in ten thousand," the Dreamer waved his hand dismissively, "Just a friendly reminder. The power of a ruler isn’t something a few saints grouped together can reach."
"Instead of friendly reminders, some substantial help would be better," Aiden said, "Dramatic developments need key dramatic elements."
"My reminder is substantial help. The intervention of a ruler is something Melissa’s ’omniscience’ can’t see through," the Dreamer spoke slowly, "I’ll tell you two things: one is that only a ruler can counter a ruler’s power. Second, the Goddess of Conspiracy was once an outstanding ruler who came closest to the throne in recent centuries, but she failed at the closest moment."
Aiden waited a while, expecting the Dreamer to continue, but he stopped and just drank his coffee, then stared at Aiden.
"Is that all?" Aiden confirmed.
"That is already quite a crucial clue," the Dreamer said.
"Fine, I’ll take it seriously," Aiden nodded.
Whether it was the Goddess of Conspiracy or the Dreamer, if they wanted to target him, they needn’t resort to such trivial deceptions. Therefore, the hints given by the Dreamer had a high probability of being useful.
The Goddess of Conspiracy’s leniency and the Dreamer’s hints could very well be the breakthroughs he needed to overcome the game set by the ruler.
"Talking with you is really quite enjoyable," the Dreamer finished his last sip of coffee, stood up, tipped his hat to Aiden, and said goodbye, "Your story is nearing its end now. I will be watching from a prime seat, looking forward to your finale."
